Welcome to Blocks Heavy Machine! I specialize in repairing and modifying equipment with a special emphasis on high performance diesel engine work. I do line boring, cylinder boring, groove cutting, milling, heat treating, heat straightening, surface grinding, lathe work from 1/4" to 40" diameter and lengths to 16 feet. I do lots of block work including spun bearing repair and cutting grooves in block. I also do flat tappet to roller conversions. Large jobs and heavy items are my specialty. I have even done work on full size steam locomotive components. I also do cast iron welding as well as general steel fabrication. I have a masters degree in Mechanical Engineering so likely can develop a solution to any problem. If you are interested in having a large or one off job done send me an email!
I have one that blew the low pressure retun line coming from the power steering. After replacing the line and toping off the fluid, the power steering and the transmission are motionless. Can it get airlock?
@@kurthellenberg I have not ever experienced an air lock but maybe? The pump is right where the driveshaft comes in from the engine. You might try taking one of the fittings out there and pouring some oil straight into the pump. If your unit sat a long time and the pump is fairly worn maybe it lost prime. You will need the fender deck off to attempt it.
@bcbloc02 Thanks man, I have two of these, one original of 198T Dig-it and the current one off the 420 JD. I'm no technician, so off yo the shop they go. Thanks again for the reply!
Dang Brian, cant catch a break huh? Glad you all are okay and no significant damage. We got a little wind over here in Sadieville but not too bad. One large 20" diameter tree down in the back pasture but thats about it.
Sorry this has happened to your home again. Poplar trees tend to come apart in any breeze, then they make hollows in the tree and get even worse about breaking apart when a strong wind gets into them. I am not going to tell you what to do but I would remove the poplar before it strikes again. Oaks are nice to replace them but take a long time to get to the same size.
great to see that you've gotten out with only a small hit. As long as you and your family are OK and healthy the land and house can be fixed. Do you think you will do a shop update any time soon? i'd love to see if anything else has been done to the place over the years.
You have a lot of chickens, do you sell the eggs? I saw in New York that 18 eggs go for almost $9.00, dang, fifty cents for an egg! Three years ago you could buy a dozen eggs for a buck, everything’s way up in price though. Take it easy cleaning all that up in this heat, looking forward to seeing a little more shop work when you have some time. Hope everyone enjoys the 4th of July holiday and you all stay safe out there!
Yep could have been much worse. I plan to put a standing seam metal roof on and then hopefully I should be good for these occasional 100+mph wind events.
I feel for you Bryan. I had the same thing a couple weeks ago. The tornado broke the tops out of 20 or so trees that were 15, 16 inches diameter. Several didn't break branches, but all the leaves were stripped off. It was a mess like you said.... I was blessed and didn't receive any damage to any vehicles or my house. All the branches fell all around everything but not on anything. Miracles still happen, thank God!!!
I pretty well done with it now about 50 loads of brush with the old farm truck Dodge. I need to have a bonfire now so I got someplace to haul anymore! Lol
Here in Germany we don't have tornadoes. That's what we used to say. This last weekend roofs were blown off houses in the village just above us (thankfully, we live in a valley, where flooding is rare, but possible). Sorry to see your mess there. We just have branches to pick up and a few trees to trim the broken branches out of. Wishing you less dramatic weather.
Do you watch Snowball engineering channel? He was repairing a chassis of a potato harvester, and I asked, "What would Brian do?" He's talented. HIs repair probably worked.
I don’t know that I am familiar with that channel. I need to try to check it out but I am already like a month behind on most of my channels I try to watch now.
I'm glad it was only trees and some minor damage for you, and you're ok. Might have to replace the brittle poplars and maples with white oak and hickory. Something a little stronger and more flexible.
wow, the tornado ripped apart your kitchen and took the dishwasher out, and it landed on your porch.. OMG 😛 Seems like you were not hit that bad, it could have been worse. Glad it wasn't worse. Get the shop sealed up.. then get to work ... Good luck.
Sorry to see you're going to have to clean up so much.... I guess it's a good thing that you haven't planted yet, if you lived around here the corn would have already been full height...
