My favorite classics in no particular order are A Tale of Two cities, ivanhoe, 1984, Little women, little men, Man's Search for meaning, east of eden, The Grapes of wrath, quo vadis, and since you seem to like short books try one called "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption.".
I really shouldn’t be watching your videos bc I have a huge tbr already but one sneaky little book from this vid manipulated me into adding it to my list 😒
i did a macrodose of mushrooms when i was 22 and quit drinking forever (the hindu deity shakti told me to). been sober since 4 years but now i am fucking gay. you can't win in this life.
20:56 I see quite often that open, ambiguous endings are used as an artistic choice to make the story seem more interesting and cool rather than actually fitting the narrative. Sometimes it works but leaves you feeling like something's missing. That's why open endings are becoming my least favorite
The Trees was my first Percival Everett book and I loved it. His writing is amazing and witty and I was laughing out loud. 🤣 I loved Match Point too, such a great movie!
The peace and joy I feel when watching these kind of videos is really indescribable. Also, if possible, I would love to see your closet! Your clothes and jewelry are always so fab.
one flew over the cuckos nest must be the stupidest thing i've ever read. whats good about this book? you can't even properly explain it. the book is just a shitload of misogyny
Haven’t read any of Everett’s work yet but I did see the movie American Fiction (based on Erasure) and it was absolutely fantastic! It also won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay so you’re very on point with saying his work would do well on the screen! ✨
❤️😘😁 🤔😳 Hey!! maybe the problem is not the end, perhaps is the development. Like in the theoretical books, not because the facts, but is there where you can sink your fangs and delight with the juice of knowledge. 😌☺️😘 Oh, yeah Penélope and Scarlett , love them , like the sunny days on the screen 😌
I understand the need for endings. Very rarely do I appreciate or desire what amounts to a child's "pick-your-own-adventure" book or movie. So many times, unclear endings are not successful and particularly in books feel lazy, like the author couldn't really figure out how to end the book or, Heaven helps, the author thinks they are being clever like the villain in Austin Powers with his pinky at his lips. Just end the f-er already!
Everett has the swift velocity of air of wind … that was my experience with James … on another note I’m reading The Rabbit Hutch whose tone reminds me of White Teeth…
Can you talk about how to meet people and meet friends in nyc :) I’m in greenpoint too and have been here almost a year wanna meet more cool funny women who are maybe into books and STUFF
You look great in the glasses and that time you had the straight hair combined with big glasses will have you looking like a 70s gal revival! 😃😺 I can love and hate both ambiguous or clear-cut endings, depending on how they are carried out 👍
