We have 2 zones and around midnight, one side of the house continues to cool while the other side of the house stops cooling. Is there a reason one damper would close in the middle of the night while the other remains open?
@@NighthawkHVAC I am assuming it is because the damper closed but I am not certain. Last night I tried turning off the zone 2 that continued to cool to see if it would affect the other side but it didn't. The same side stayed warm (zone 1) and the air continued to come out forcefully on Zone 2 even though the thermostat was turned off.
Is there an indicator on the shaft part of the damper assembly that tells u if it’s open or close b4 u put the new one on? Like the shaft of a blower motor has a smooth side… is it like thay
Nope. You just have to wing it. Sometimes I’ll just drill a hole in the damper assembly so I can see if it open or closed. Then I draw a line on the end of the shaft. If you’re lucky someone else marked it for you.
A waste of time you may have got the faulty compressor going but there is a good chance that it may burn out then you have a burn out too deal with just my thoughts
Thank you for the video! I always enjoy your content. I'm especially grateful for any kind of mini split or inverter videos, I'm embarrassed to admit that those systems still confuse me sometimes.
my wednesday 12 ton coil change out was a 118 degree on the roof. my co-worker was suffering bad. he drinks soda, eats fast food, smokes weed and vapes. I was just fine, I don't drink soda, eat fast, or smoke. I barely broke a sweat. I used to have a hardtime with the heat unit I got my thyriod taken care of and changed my diet. I eat alot of eggs and meat. drinking just water. it changed my life. I don't get the hunger pains anymore and the 12 hour days are no issue.
I have a strange one for you. My apartments AC unit has the normal drain line that leads outside, however under the handler there is a PVC that goes down, the connects sideways into a inch high pipe that has a black wire coming out of it, the drain leading outside is not stopped up yet that little pipe with the wire is dripping....wtf is it and what do I do to stop it?
Don’t think it’s good to teach on a residential unit in a commercial application building will always be in a negative no outside air causes billions in energy costs
I have one building at work that pulls water from the Detroit River. Fking zebra mussels get into the system and kills the water flow. I am slowly replacing those systems with mini-splits. Also their are no temp and pressure gauges, whoever installed those units were hacks.
I bought the SL28XCV A/C unit top of the line, along with its companion variable brand new furnace. Well the A/C unit was making a very audible buzzing noise that I was told was "NORMAL". So I had to be persistent or they would have left it as it. Turns out it was a transformer controller when pressed the noise stopped. New replacement part = no noise. Then another issue whenever it runs I hear a fast annoying ticking noise... again very audible & yet again told it was "NORMAL". Upon calling Lennox all I get was some lackluster know nothing guy who could not speak clearly and told me to call my local installer... But they tell me it is "NORMAL". So I am forced to source additional advise outside my zip code in hope another installer or dealer will be kind enough to listen to the noise on the top tier variable motor A/C Lennox unit. Additionally the inducer motor on the SLP99V variable furnace inside made such a ridiculous noise I was also told was "NORMAL" that could not be fixed even after a replacement causing me to spend over $300.00 in sound deadening materials and 2 months researching the how to install as my bedroom is in the basement with the Furnace. That I solved with zero help from Lennox. I found one named Greg from up North and await his response. If you would like to hear the fast ticking noise here is the video just turn up your volume some if needed. Any input appreciated. Link here on RU-vid: ru-vid.comA-gbWJtiyCc
Our unit is making a horrible sound and also sounds like it is staining. Then it slow down and comes back up to speed. - So if it is the same problem, did you have to order from Amana ? Also, is it cheaper to order the rotor and replace or buy a whole unit? This will be the second PTAC we have purchased for our patio. Thanks for a very informative video.
You have to find an Amanda distributor or look online. You’ll need to model number for the unit. Price is different depending on where you’re located. So I’d suggest check the wheel/motor price and go from there. Good luck!
