You’ve set down your device because you couldn’t figure out what to do. You’ve asked your grandkids for help but instead of showing you, they just want to do it for you. You’ve decided you’re just too old to learn all this techie stuff.
I help Seniors like you(gray haired like me) learn how to master their iPhones and iPads without having to call their children or grandchildren to help them out.
That’s why I created my website and RU-vid channel Ellen’s Tips for iOS. I’ll be your guide in learning all things iPhone and iPad related. I’ll be putting out written tips as well as videos. I’ll even offer some trainings where you can get your questions answered or 1:1 help.

This was very helpful. I stumbled into notes a long time ago for recipes that I copied from another source and I just piled them into notes, now I can sort them. Thank you. Lorraine
Thank you Ellen! I appreciate your calm and slow pace of your videos. However, I am still struggling to grasp the skill required in setting up a Shortcut. I do require to persevere and to keep watching your tutorials so I can feel less frustrated as I do currently.
Sorry for the confusion. That was my fault. If you don’t have the watch connected the fitness app shows minimal data. If you have an Apple Watch you will get all the data I explained. The iPhone isn’t nearly as accurate as the Watch.
I'll bet you are a retired teacher with years of experience. The best ones speaking slowly and clearly. Great job done and I will definitely subscribe.
I tried this and when I push both the power button and the up volume button I get a power down emergency call screen, not the window opening you describe. What am I doing wrong?
Hi Steve, can you tell me what iPhone model you have? It’s a simultaneous push of the Volume Up and Power. As long as you hit them at the same time it should work.
I am desperately trying to save a 6-month long text thread. After watching your informative video I thought the best way to preserve would be by the slow scroll method. However, my iPhone 13 seems to be missing the record button
Open Settings > Control Center > Scroll until you see Screen Recording and tap the + button. Now you should find Screen Recording in the Control Center. Hope that helps Sheri!
My husband needs extra help and your tips are very helpful. I am worried he could get lost walking the dog so now I can track him. I presume this comes at a cost of the battery charge. Great content💖💖💖🇦🇺
Kudos, Clickasnap keeps getting better. Any possibility of allowing submissions/uploads directly from editors like Lightroom via the Share Sheet, much like Flickr and 500PX?
You should find it in the Control Center. If you have an iPhone with a home button swipe up from the bottom of the screen. If you have an iPhone with FaceID swipe down from the upper right corner of the upper right corner of the screen.
I am trying to print from my Iphone SE. I have photos on my phone. I have a Brother printer/scanner . I would like to print 4 photos on the same page .Anybody know how to do this. Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you
Thank you so much Ellen for your videos. I particularly like that you speak clearly and slowly. Although sometimes I still have to watch it over and over again to digest the information due to my ripe old age.
For a grocery list, the reminders app has a template that automatically sorts items by grocery store section. Much better than notes for the grocery store.
Super helpful info. Just discovered your channel. Although I consider myself to be a pretty tech savvy 72 y/o, I’m always so glad when I can learn something new and useful. Thanks so much!
Only one thing which i dont like about this mail app is notifications will not work properly though we ON push and pull, we want gmail like notification it will receive immediate notification from the sender
Ellen, my globe key and command key work when I use them as commands, but when I just press the keys by themselves I do not get the menu that pops up that gives a summary of the commands. Why can’t I press the globe key to get just a list of the commands? Why can’t I press just the cmd key to get a list of the commands?
Try restarting your iPad. If that doesn’t work Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Hardware Keyboard > Modifier Keys. Check the Modifier Keys line up with what they should be. You might try restoring to Defaults and see if that fixes it. Hope that helps.
I'm a "senior". Your video has been saved on a playlist of mine entitled "iPhone" and it goes on TOP of my list. Unlike other iPhone presenters on RU-vid, you speak with a slow, deliberate voice that is much appreciated by a beginner like myself. And you explain everything clearly. A TRUE teacher!
I sent my iPad to a repair shop replace my 64Gb nand to a 128GB nand for a fee, it's been a year since, it is more faster since the memory swap have space
