Hello, Thanks for taking a look here, I'm Dr James Gill, a medical doctor, and GP. I've a passion for teaching clinical skills, helped my medical students understand how to examine the human body.

Thank you! I was suspicious at first because of the adverts! Since last September have been suffering from post viral fatigue. Sleeping or lying down in the day time, brain fog and just managing a walk outside once every 10 or 11 days. ... 8 months now. Started Nurosym maybe 10 days ago. I have hope. Still weak and aching but managing a short walk maybe every 5 or 6 days. I had much doubt before buying then tossed a coin 3 times to decide!! I think that I do feel different. It actually sorted certain bowel issues to do with IBS. That was a surprise! So on we go! I was having doubts recently so this talk has given me a bit more confidence and hope so thank you!
I am 17 years with symptoms, Fecal Calprotectin and CRP both raised (CRP has been raised, normal and is raised), H Pylori negative but have had it before and only now am I on a waiting list for Gastroenterology. Coeliac bloods negative. Episodes getting worse, had deficiencies on and off in Calcium, Iron, Vitamin D and B12, Borderline Folate. Tons of gas, worse than ever, discomfort and pain, diarrhoea and sometimes nausea and vomiting. Anaemic on and off for years, lower back pain when I wake that's worse if I stay in bed, (new mattress didn't fix), had lots of rectal bleeding, told it was Haemorrhoids so had a Haemorrhoidectomy, better but not totally, still some dark thick clotted blood (even when no episode). No weight loss but episodes were just a day or two until recently. NO idea what it is but I'm sick of it, it's brutal when it happens
As a long covid sufferer I appreciate you providing us with some positive news - sounds like we are one step closer to a potential treatment. Please keep us informed of any further advancements. Cheers.
I know this is about usage of antihistamines for anxiety, but does that apply for those who take antihistamines to control MCAS, eczema and allergies in general? Bc I take it bc of these reasons, with that being a prescription from my allergist And ngl, I feel like my sleep went downhill after I started taking antihistamines frequently to control my eczema... My eczema was so bad that it was either that or immunosuppressive meds back then (2014) 🥲
I love this! Also, it’s best to brush BEFORE you eat breakfast, not after, since the bacteria do a lot of their “work” and produce byproducts within minutes, so you want to brush them away before, not after, you add food in your mouth
I have heard in the past that people who experience true starvation have their metabolism and hunger irrevocably changed. I would imagine there's a very delicate balance between nutrition and the hormones dealing with both metabolism and mental health. Would this have any connection to the serotonin production in the gut? Too much ultra-processed "junk" food being essentially as bad or worse than no food?
Ah damn, your cycling helmet and the jacket look the same to me as well, but in the test I saw all of the numbers, although it was a bit difficult for some.
Well that could be bad and good like you should go to the doctor once in a while just to get checked up and make sure everything is good but going to the doctor everytime you have a headache or sore throat ect is not mentally healthy because all you're doing is trying to find something bad that doesn't exist and you're wasting you and your doctors time... time you could be using to spend time with loved ones or trying to find love or doing something fun and just enjoy life instead of begin scared constantly. I still recommend going the doctor at least twice a year just to get everything checked out but don't over do it and just try to enjoy this life while we are here. P.s I'm 29 at the time of writing this and I'm currently dealing with my own battle with anxiety but it's getting better.
