Can you please help me? In the last 2 month a water bubble developed in our living room its pretty much in the very middle of the trailer 2012 champion shingle roof. Can you please give me an estimate of where the leak is most likely coming from for the bubble to develop there? We don't have any other water damage just that one spot. We're trying to borrow a ladder to get up there but in the mean time I was looking up information and found your channel. Were low income so most likely need to do this ourselves. Thank you in advance for any help you might offer
Im about to take my own roof repair this weekedn thanks to your videos. I haven't seen you add new vent pipes or hoods. Do you cut then for good or do you pit new ones?
I just did a roof this way. It was way too slow getting onto the roof. I won't do it again unless I have a proper way of distributing the solution. Came out fine. but and it is a major but. It took so dam long to get the roof wet with solution.
A lot bad information in the comment section telling people to only put the screws on the ridges/ribs, that will void 99% of the warranties if you do that, look up the panel manufactures instructions for installation and you will find that 99% of the time they will tell you the screws go on the flats not on the ribs to secure the panels to the roof. The exception to that is 5V style panels those the installation calls for the screws to go on the V and not on the flats except at the bottom where there should be two screws in each flat to secure the panel from wind lift. The ribbed PB/PBR panels also get two screws at the bottom between each rib to secure the panel from wind lift.
That is an improperly installed exposed fastener metal roof. The first mistake was not removing the shingles, yes I know the manufacturers say you can install over shingles but if you are going to pay for a metal roof remove the shingles and have a water barrier i.e. peel and stick put on first. There should be two screws at the bottom of each panel between the raised ribs. The rest of the screws should be installed 24 inch on center or 12 inch on center. Depending on the degree of slope of the roof, you do not have to have adhesive where the panels overlap, if you are on the lower end of slope i.e. 2:12 you should use adhesive where the panels over lap. We have an exposed fastener roof but it was installed by a reputable roofing company that has crews that only do metal roofs so they know what they are doing. The shingles were removed and peel and stick water barrier was applied then the metal panels, the screws were properly installed as well, we have not had any issues with our roof. Ours used ZAC screws with EPDM washers that are covered by the shoulder of the screw to shield the EPDM washers from the sun.
That's a hell of a good job on that mobile home! Very impressive. Cam you glue that rubber down to a roof that has a good thick coating of Henry elastomeric coating on it?
You can put it up there, but I don’t know if you can glue it down not sure if it will stick but I still think it will work and then you can code it WHITE. I think what you wanna know is can you put it down without putting OSB on there first and the answer is yes.
I too desperately need help. We thought we could do it on our own but inflation and serious health issues has us still living in a home without floors. Our plan is to replace all of the subfloor in our extra long, single wide trailer and after putting inexpensive linoleum on top. The trusses are good. we just keep trucking and hoping to get to a place where we can hire a contractor to come in and get it wiped out quicker than we can do it ourselves. Sadly, we cannot afford the material let alone the skilled labor. It takes. Not at the moment anyway.
I wish you luck. Go to church. Ask for help. There are a bunch of free to almost free programs out there you can get help. Ask around look on the internet
Wow! Thank you so much for this video! I am 50 years old starting to flip mobile homes and this really really helped me! This is great! Roofing in mobile homes can be a pain! I am officially your FAN! FOLLOWING!
Glad it was helpful! Please check out my more recent videos on the same thing. I think it will help you out a lot. If you are a mobile home flipper this really makes a huge difference once you figure it out and get it down. It can be done easily in two days two or maybe three guys and there is a lot of money to be made there so how about you hire me to come down there and show you how to do it if you pay for I’ll come
Any issues going straight onto the old roof? We have an old mobile and she needs a re roofing. Do you ever use tar paper or any ice guard? We get lots of snow and rain here. Keep up the good work brother and thanks for all the videos.
I noticed you didn’t paint the termination bars. I bought my house and everything was painted including the termination bars. Are they not supposed to be painted? Thank you in advance
Respectfully, I'm here to find out about waterproofing and if this has anything to do with it, please. And does bricking around the house help solve this/these problems?
@Drewsroofingandhomerepair I was kidding trying to be funny. I just used the 30 second cleaner that comes in the bottle you attach hose to, that stuff worked amazing on my vinyl privacy fence
I have seen quite a few of your videos and you and your crew always do a fantastic job. I know that it is far to travel but I am wondering if you travel as far as Southern NJ.
So I'm in Waverly NY, Waverly PA line. Yes, there is such a location. When would you be around here. My roof has the same hump up on one end. It's in need of the same roofing you completed on this video What is the total cost so I can budget it out?
I had the same problem, bought and replaced breakers same problem, so my son and I started at the box were the street power comes in with an voltmeter, next was the shed checked that box , 4 breakers checked, 3 were reading 120 volts and 1 read only.04, took it out and one terminal in the back was burnt replaced it and everything came back on.
