Hi, my name is Noi. Just a content creator trying to do creative things with film. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to like an................oh never mind. Just thank you :)
I know what you mean. I've invested a lot in to Tilta, but I think I'm going to switch to smallrig. They seem to have the best support for cameras. They have just about everything.
couldn't agree more ive learned so much in the past year with it ! love my fx30 finally learning Cine EI and color grading I don't know if any other camera would've pushed me to do so. Love this video !
10/10 hahahaha! Thanks man. It wasn't much of a review. I just wanted to make this video for the transitions where the attachments slammed on to the camera hahah. I'm a basic human.
This is pretty much the same cage I have for my ZVE10 and it's awesome. That silicone grip makes all the difference. I'll have to look into the strap for it, that looks like a good combo. Cool editing btw when the cage and grip slammed into each other.
Yeah, I was pretty proud of that cage/grip transition. It was pretty much the reason for the entire video haha. I'm a basic human. I don't need much of a reason to do anything :P Yeah the grip/strap thingy is a must. I got one with my tilta cage and now it's a pre requisite for all of my cameras. I hate regular straps.
Great cage, I always get a grip and wrist strap when I can. My only hope is that someone would make just a baseplate (L-bracket) and grip like this as the do for most Nikons and Fuji's. Yet, this seems to be the best solution until then for me...
I'm the same. I prefer something smaller but I also need a grip. This doesn't really add much to the camera and like I mentioned it actually makes it feel less cheap.
@@noisackda2564 agreed, and after feeling what they did with the A7Cii's grip, which is amazing and the same size, I wish Sony had made that one adjustment to the zve1's body design
@@noisackda2564 which reminds me, I've been meaning to write to Nintendo to plead with them to port Tears of the Kingdom to PS5 and/or Steam already (or put the dang game on sale once in a garsh dang while!!)
You executed that unboxing idea flawlessly - really like it my friend! :) Smallrig knows their stuff specially cages. I got the leather case for my X100VI and not gonna lie, I was surprised how good the leather quality is on this one. Really makes my X100VI feels better and even more expensive as it is xD Also, do you trying out mist filters on your videos? :) I also got one, but didn't head a chance yet to film a new talking head video with that setup. Have a nice day my friend! :)
Hey Phil, Thanks man. The lighting is terrible but oh well. Glad you liked it. I still have the X100VI on order 🥲I'm going to look at the cage for it now :P I rock a 1/4 mist filter on all of my videos LOL! you see it all over the place in this video. Thanks for the view and comment friend. Have a great day as well.
I just wanted to make this quick video because I had an idea for the unboxing and wanted to execute it :P Thanks for watching. I would appreciate a like and a follow 😁 I Appreciate you all.
Great video. actually got me to pull the trigger on this lens! also I really liked the color you used in this video. is it a preset that you made that I can buy?
Nice! I think for the price they are solid. Three lenses for the price of one pretty much and at F1.2. That's sort of unheard of. As for the color I'm using the Phantom Luts. They are super affordable and 100%v worth it. Thanks for the watch and comment :)
Hi great stuff and made me also look for xe4 for out travel in Japan. What lens are you using at the start of your video here? I’m also using zve1 for video
Thanks man. Do eeeeet! The ZV-E1 and xe4 combo for Japan is a killer combo! The lens I used for the vlogging bits in this video is the Sony 20-70mm F4. Pretty much the perfect all in one travel lens IMO until we get a 16-70 f 1.4 :P #notgonnahappen
@@noisackda2564 going to get mine tomorrow! Lol, for now will pair with kitlens but will go the same with 23mm f2. Man, ZVE1 is beast even in low light, will check thay 20-70mm f4. Seems like all rounder and will keep my GAS for lens lol
@@franciskikomanliclic Nice! Enjoy it :) I wish I had my XE4 while I was in Japan. Do something fun and go try and find a Fuji camera in Japan :P It's impossible, and yes, The ZV-E1 is a beast! I wouldn't even consider an F4 lens on any other camera but an F4 lens on the E1 can shoot in the dark. It's that good! Most of my Osaka footage was at night and it performed incredibly.
@@noisackda2564 Yea, color grading can be intimidating. It’s why a lot of people just want to throw a LUT on everything. But, with a little bit of effort, as you know, people can create great imagery. It’s worth learning how to grade, in my book.
Now it's finally here - the secret sauce of our beloved vlog ninja! :D Thanks for sharing my friend! Your tutorial is easy to understand and straight forward, but I have the feeling you make it look easier then it is, at least for me. But this motivates me to dive into the topic of video color grading. Right now I want to make my Osmo Pocket 3 look better and it is definitly capable with Dlog 10bit footage - I just suck at color grading currently - guess being partially colour blind is also not as helpful :D For photography it's quite easy for me. When I don't get the color I would like, I simply switch to black and white and it usually saves my day and the image looks good. That doesn't work so well for video, specially if I want to create YT content 😇 Have a nice day my man!
Hahahaha! The black-and-white thing killed me because it's so true. I was speaking to the guy at the camera store and he said the same thing. Color grading is hard at first but becomes easier once you've done a few. You begin to learn what you like and hate. I guess the simple answer is the more you do, the better you get. For me, I want all my stuff to look like the movie District 9 haha. so I just do that
I'm so surprised on how simple your process is! And I thought you use DaVinci for some reason. Always love the look of your videos, and I'm happy finally get to see how they come together like this. Do you not do anything to your audio? Are they raw from the mic you use? Also you use ND filter to control the exposure quick outside right? Does your footage sometimes get blueish hard vignettes? I come across that problem recently..
Hey, thanks! Yeah, my methods are the lazy man's methods. If I can't edit a video in three hours I just won't do it at all. I'm surprised how my color techniques have held up. It's definitely not the typical way to do it. Regarding the ND filter. I find that the vignetting happens on APSC lenses quite a bit for some reason. It rarely happens with my full-frame camera. I don't know if it's just the lenses are bigger or I'm using better quality filters for them. I know that some of my VND's have terrible vignetting though. Orrrrrr I just thought of this now. I never crank my VND to max. That's how you also get the vignetting. I usually put it to medium and crank my shutter to something stupid like 1/500 haha. As for the audio. most of it is captured through the built-in mic on the ZV-E1 believe it or not. It's pretty great. I also use the Sony bluetooth mic which I swear by. The audio is always so good when I use it.
@@noisackda2564 right! I notice the vignettes’ really bad on my outdoor afternoon shots, that’s probably why I don’t notice it usually. And build in mic!? Geez, crazy!
@@HiImZ91 You know I thought about getting those Peter McKinnon VND's but naw haha. I would rather spend that money on a lens. Ya the mic always surprises me. It's the reason I don't have the Sony shotgun mic even though I still look for a deal on those from time to time :P
@@noisackda2564 Man. Got me thinkin'. I have to travel across the country for a hybrid photo / video run and gun shoot. I've been trying to decide what my ideal rig out should be for my fx3. Video will be just b-roll of landscapes and then detail shots of restaurant and bar interiors, (it's for a tourism campaign) not so worried about landscapes, but interiors...think nice smooth slider shots across wine bottles and racks and stuff...but that tripod and slider set up won't exactly be fast... So then I was thinking cool I'll just bring my ronin rs4...but that's not super light with everything else I have. Cue your video. Maybe I just rock with a ZV-E1. Those tests you got here are more than smooth enough for the video clips I have to deliver. You might have just saved me a ton of headache.
@@IamDadlySerious I'm glad I can help, but if you're doing a paying gig it might be good to fly with a gimbal haha. I do believe that the E1 can deliver gimbal-like footage if you're steady but it is very dodgy if you turn abruptly. In strait lines, it works great though. All the best.
Love your videos Noi! Thanks for sharing your colouring and editing process. Another idea for the anamorphicish you can play around is having the videos aspect ratio to be 2.39 (4096 x 1714) for your videos resolution. I think it's really neat to do especially for most users who view on desktop in theatre mode.
Hey Noi, just wanted to confirm first of all thank you very much for the video. You said you use catalyst browse to stabilize. Does that mean that the auto stabilizer from the camera is completely off? Thanks mate
Hello! Thanks for watching and commenting. When I'm running the footage through catalyst I shoot with all stabilization turned off yes. Another thing to keep in mind is to shoot with your shutter speed over 1/100 if you're going to do this. I would shoot from 1/100 to 1/160
Yeah, these lenses have a lot of characteristics. Now that I've had some time with them they do feel sort of cheap but the performance is quite good. They are coming out with two new ones to this line. A super wide and a 75mm
Good Video, but there is a, in my opinion real hot take. at 4:20 your are saying: "There is no science. Color Correcting is just preference" I just want to clarify some confusion here. Color Correcting is Science, because Color Correcting is including converting your footage from LOG/RAW to Rec.709 as well as exposure and white balance. Everything else is Color Grading, and yes there is no science behind that apart from it should look well... oh yeah and in 99,999% of the cases it should look consisten from shot to shot
I agree. I'm simply trying to urge people to be more creative with the medium without being locked to what the hardware is telling you what the perfect settings are.
What's up noi? Been a while. I totally get the time away. It takes a lot of time to make a decent video to not get paid for it. This makes me glad my son is in Karate because I literally never learned to kick. Now I struggle with lower body mobility and flexibility even though I look like I'm in decent shape for an almost 50 Y.O.
Hey Tim! It's been a minute! How are you? You know, I'm the same as you. I still have hip mobility issues, but it's never too late. It just takes more work. As far as youtube, I agree with you 100% I must have spent thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours on posting for it with zero return. You would have to be crazy to continue with it if money was all you wanted from it. I understand my content will never be big. I just refuse to play that game but at least I'm getting something from it and that's the ability to document my life. If youtube goes down in the future then I'll be super angry haha.
@@noisackda2564I've been well man. Thanks for asking. Yeah I actually have made almost $300 so far from affiliate links. Still that's so little compared to the amount hours I put in. I still like it as a hobby and I'll still continue to make videos and have affiliate Links for items that I find to be amazing finds but I'm not sweating it too much. I also think the camera channels have slowed down in general because there haven't been very many interesting things here lately coming out. For me for right now if I'm able to upload one video a month I'm fine with that. It's also harder and harder actually because once you step up your game it's hard to just press record, do a super simple edit and be done with it. I feel like I have to polish it so it matches at least the level of my last few videos. I think it's a trap so they can continue to have us "unpaid interns" Keep pushing out content for them to sell advertising on it and not pay us lol.
@@timbrowntown Unpaid Interns!!!! That's a great way of putting it. RU-vid is a trap. I feel like I'm going through a case of battered woman syndrome. Can I even say that nowadays haha.
I loved everything about this, been waiting for this vid for awhile as your grade has always made your vlogs stand out to everyone else's... and up front love that you also use Premiere. I too crank up my vignetting on Premiere while lowering my shadows to add contrast and lower exposure. I never use scopes either, but i totally agree with your whole philosophy and approach here. I need get his Arri LUTs and load then into my camera. The colors are so pleasing. Dig this tutorial style too... Killer footage as well!
Thanks B-Dawg. I've always admired the quality of your edits as well. I think too often times people listen to big-name influencers and follow what they say without even knowing how or why haha. You don't have Phantom luts? 😲 It's essentially the cheat code haha.
Thank you all for stopping by. I just wanted to say that these are the methods I use to get footage to look the way I like. By no means are they the correct or only way to achieve similar results. If you liked the video or find it helpful, please show some love by giving a thumbs up and I follow. Appreciate it thank you all.
@@noisackda2564 naw. I really like the art point of view you mentioned. Like why changing the aspect ratio or adding vignetting to an image to guide the viewers eyes. That’s what makes it your channel bro👍
I wish you would make more enticing content for RU-vid… these videos will never get more than 50-100 views.. I think you have to much potential but you’re kinda stuck in making 2010 content in 2024 which is fun for us old people to look at but doesn’t take into consideration of the 99% who watch RU-vid I feel ljke
Great video! I feel kind of honored by it, as it really resonates with the thoughts I shared in my comment on your last video. I don't understand why your channel isn't more popular. It deserves millions of views. In my opinion, it's the best cinematic vlog on RU-vid. Thanks for showing the color grading technique you use. I've been following your channel for a while, and I have to say it has that "something." A special vibe that sets you apart from the many other videos on RU-vid. You mention artistic aspects, and I must say, in my opinion, you've created some scenes that deserve a Hollywood level, especially since the color grading closely resembles the style of the movie "Joker." The scenes I'm talking about are the window perspective at timestamp 2:46, the profile shot from below at 2:50, and the scene at 2:55 in the episode "Cinematic vlogging FX30." Additionally, the well-chosen music does a great job.
Wow! Thanks so much for this 🥲 I needed this as I was stating to doubt myself. I have to be realistic though. I am just vlogging my life and it’s a lot to ask of people to be interested in it but thank you so much for saying I deserve much more 😭🥲 I’m happy my content is being appreciated. Thanks so much friend.
I just wanted to say thank you all for the support. Please offer a prayer for me and pray that I don't snap a leg. I'm super old and I don't even know why I'm doing this haha. Love you all.
You'd be glad that just now I’ve liked your RU-vid Channel. Cos, your content was really awesome. But unfortunately, there are not much views and subscribers. I noticed that your video SEO score is too weak according to your needs. Because of that, your video is not reaching your target audience. You will be glad to hear that I can help you increase your SEO score so that it is top on the first page of RU-vid which will increase your subscribers and views organically. So, if you want to do this, I await your response.
