The only Oreck that even looks decent or seems worth buying these days is the commercial since it's pretty much still an old school Oreck with the iconic design
For people that really care about air quality, they need an externally exhausted central vacuum. Forget 99% filtration, how about 100%? You can also get a cyclonic model with zero ongoing expenses. No bags, no filters.
Thank you so much for this video. I recently found this model Miele on eBay for a really good price, so I bought it. It was canister only and didn't include the hose, attachments, or the wands and power nozzle. When the machine arrived, I was really surprised how clean it was inside and out. I did put a HEPA filter in it, and I use the blue collar GN bags in it. All genuine Miele, of course. I have since fount the hose for it and bought brnd new canister tools for it, as well as a power nozzle. Of the three Mieles I own this is absolutely my favorite. I look forward to using it for many years to come.
I don't understand why Miele didn't use a dual cyclone separator. The patents on that expired decades ago, and I'm sure that Miele could have put their own twist on the design to improve it.
Nice video. These are great vacs, Dysons best series as far as im concerned. Quick tip. I pull the entire canister out intact, and soak the whole thing in a mild citric acid and cool water solution overnight in a 5 gallon bucket. Rinse the next morning and air dry. Been working like a champ in a DC33 for years.
Hello, thank you for the video. Can you please recommend a vacuum for a family with long hair. I have the Dyson ball and I have to clean it often to control that smell caused by the wrapped around hair. I am ready to buy a better vacuum! Thank you.
Thanks for the vid. I have this same problem on a DC50. When I press the switch I’m getting 120v+ DC (I think 160v) out of the motor brush area. I actually left the brushes in by accident and there was a huge spark. So definitely power coming through. I sanded the brush contact points. But when I put the motor back together, the white plastic piece with brushes and the can, I don’t get any voltage where the brushes are. I read that there’s some safety mechanism to prevent current overdraw in case the motor is shot, maybe the breaker that you show here, which would explain no voltage when the motor is assembled. The vac is over 10 years old and maybe insulation on the windings of the motor gave out. Sadly the motor is impossible to find on its own and I have to buy an assembly off eBay for $50. Hoping that works, I’ll update my comment ✌️
Taken mine apart looks clean brush moves by hand belt is fine but brush not moving when in and green light flashing??? Should I bin it I have tried everything
So this video was extremely helpful and extremely unhelpful at the same time. Cause what you’re saying is, I need a vacuum to clean my vacuum, noted. But also, what are the instructions for someone that has not cleaned this thing in three years? What can get wet? What can get really wet? And what do I throw away and replace?
I'm so glad I have berber carpet throughout my house....all the vacuums I've tried have zero issues... If you see this... now that 3 years have passed.... have you seen many repairs or isuses?
This video was my last resort and I’m so glad I watched it. I couldn’t figure out why, after I vacuumed there was nothing for me to empty out of the canister. Thank you very much!
Thank you so much, this was exactly what the problem was with my vacuum. Do you have a recommendation for a vacuum with a family that does have a lot of long hair? Seems like this is not the vacuum for us unfortunately.
Hi, based upon your teardown of the genuine item, what would you say to repacking the original unit with fresh, quality cells? I'm an electrical engineer, and know one side of a soldering iron from another - but I've never attempted to crack open a Dyson battery pack. For a start, does the plastic case come apart easily without needing to destroy it? My Dyson run-time is significantly degraded, but I'm not ready to risk destroying it yet ....
Do you have a video with suggestions when buying a new vacuum? Like best most reliable options . I’m tired of these bagless options. I want a bagged vacuum
If you let this go on with the burning smell for to long can it burn out or mess up the actual motor? I’m gonna take my head apart soon and would hate to buy another head for 100 bucks only to find out the motor is now compromised
Democrat San Francisco is giving beer and vodka to the homeless, as bad as this sounds this is not what prompted me to comment. My wife and I, lifelong citizen taxpayers, cannot afford to pay for baseball tickets!!! Part of the $5 million dollars of this program is going to give them free baseball tickets. ( Biden just gave snap & other welfare recipients on social security benefits.) what happened to the Democrat Al Gore’s “ lock box. Democrats and so called self p “ independents “ see the video Joe Biden brags about getting the prosecutor fired who was investigating the corrupt Ukraine government and investigating Hunter Biden “ if you have the guts. How about viewing the video before you commit?
Wow that motor is definitely shot, it’s basically like the plastic on the older Dyson DC07/14 where you you touch it and it breaks. Glad to see you back, hope to see more content.
Hey Matt, great channel here, I'm glad I asked you about it! Thank you for everything yesterday, it was a pleasure meeting you! My wife and I had a nice little trip coming out to pick up our new Sebo Onyx X7 Pet. Even though we haven't had a chance to try it out yet, we both really like it so far and think it'll be an excellent unit! Thank you for everything, your kindness and professionalism has gained you two lifelong customers that will certainly spread the word! Oh yeah, thank you for the use of your needlenose pliers, they really saved the day on that transmission plug! Take care, Jeff and Stephanie!
These really are good vacs. You’re right though they are totally brute force, but they pack a lot of power into a small package and a CHEAP price point. Honestly they’re around $70 on amazon at the moment, and selling really well. At that price point i’m just glad it’s steering at least some people away from sharks and other pieces of crap. Pair one of these with a pack of HEPA bags for about $5 more than regular and a dedicated floor tool instead of the POS combo tool it comes with and you’ve got a really decent vac at a dirt cheap price. Got one for my grandmother just because if how light it is, it’s good for people with arthritis. She just wraps up the cord on the side, works great for her needs
