Entertaining and insightful discussions about the Minnesota Twins! Featuring SKOR North personalities Phil Mackey (former Twins beat writer), Judd Zulgad, Declan Goff and Patrick Reusse. Sometimes we recklessly speculate.
Man, you guys are so spot on. I'm down here in Iowa, and we are blacked out for like 6 MLB teams. I've been following the Twins a day after the game just watching the recaps. They're leaving money on the table. I'd pay to watch the Twins, just make it available. It's a 4 hour drive for me. I feel like I am not in the market for Minnesota, Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City, and Milwaukee.
It isnt the structure of the baseball season. It the sport. It just not that exciting. Basbeall has dates when free angency opens you just dont like when they are, changing it wont make a difference.
The Royals are probably getting Hagen Smith in round one. Judd-his statistics are almost identical to Paul Skene’s in college. The Twins will pick some high school 2nd baseman or a left handed hitting outfielder not from the SEC. Draft the best damn catcher in college, the Twins have a black hole at catcher from the major league all the way to Class A.
I had Direct TV Extra Innings the last 5 years, it was great, could watch all teams all year. Don’t like Morneau, switch to the opposing team’s feed. This year we switched to Direct TV streaming and no Extra Innings. Luckily we get all the Astros, Royals, Rangers and Cardinal games so I watch the Twins when they play those teams plus MLB network and some Apple+ etc appearances so at least I get 1/4 of the games.
CORRECTION: This starts by saying that many Twins fans can't watch the Twins anymore. This is a fallacy. Anyone no longer watching the Twins has CHOSEN not to watch them anymore. Everyone should have dumped Comcast/Xfinity ten years ago like I did. The games are readily available from Fubo and DirecTV on apps. People know how to access them. They are CHOOSING not to pay for these services or CHOOSING to pirate the games. Don't make cheap people martyrs.
STH here and target fields been dam. Near sold out almost every game the last month and a half like go look. As much as I agree it should be blackout free I’m like going is better. RU-vid tv should have had that streaming too. Twins are doing well so far with attendance
Down here in Texas, the Dallas stars just announced that their games will be streamed on its own app called victory+ every team should think about something like that
Two guys we could probably get without giving up too much are Erick Fedde and Tyler Anderson. Nice top to mid rotation names. Eovaldi would be a dream come true cuz of his proven resilience in the postseason and I would start Eovaldi game 1 if we somehow get him My trade ideas for each pitcher: TWINS - Erick Fedde WHITE SOX - Tanner Schobel (#10), Cesar Lares (#25) TWINS - Tyler Anderson ANGELS - Gabriel Gonzalez (#6), Connor Prielipp TWINS - Nathan Eovaldi, cash considerations RANGERS - Trevor Larnach, Charlee Soto (#8), Agustin Ruiz (NR)
My cable tv in Sioux Falls gave be a $4 credit when Bally went off. So the new deal might be "only" $20 month, what a deal. Probably just continue not caring about the Twins this year.
Half the local TV Revenue should go to the away team. If the White Sox make 80 million a year - they should keep 40 and the other 40 is split per game with their opponents. Teams like the Dodgers and Yankees would still keep half their revenue - but they would also receive half from the opponents. So If a team makes 500k per game, they keep 250k and the opponent receives 250k.
I said they were going to win 105 games Face Texas in the AL Series, since the end of last season. Write it down Twin will be in the WS next season. Built up the Starting staff a little more, the ring is theirs
Know IM NOT SAYING WHAT I DO…. BUT there’s an app I am aware of called dofu sports on iPhone and android and they have all 4 major sports you can watch and ufc, wwe, aew, boxing literally on the app. Sometimes they get taken down but just go through the app and you can watch the game again.
Tournament idea You take a week in July and have an all star team of every division in baseball and have them battle it out and the winning division gets the extra playoff spot
Guys, you're dreaming if you think that big market teams are going to share their local broadcast revenues with small market teams. Not gonna happen. One other thing to add - baseball is a local sport unlike football and basketball. Almost no one outside the market wants to watch Twins games.
It’s more likely than not that they won’t. However, if it can be shown that revenue sharing can grow the game and increase revenue, thus ensuring that the pie that everyone gets a piece of is bigger, then maybe they could be moved. There’s a lot more to it than that, of course, but Major League Baseball would have to be more heavy-handed with their teams’ owners
Judd says nobody knows who these guys are, like nobody watches college baseball, or the draft preview talking about the prospects, maybe he doesn’t but others do Look at brooks lee, paul skenes, wyatt langford, max clark, jackson holiday, This year its charlie condon, jac caglione, chase burns, hagen smith, vance honeycutt, blake burke, christian moore
What’s with Minnesota sports so high on Julien? I’d trade him in a heartbeat for a decent starter. I don’t think anyone outside of Minny sports media thinks Julien is worth a damn it’s baffling to me
Erick Fedde needs to be on this list would be cheaper to get then any of the starter options I think. He shoved vs the twins today plus he is signed through next year
