I bought this for a 2012 ram. There is a orange tab that it says to twist to activate. After twisting and hooking up, I was losing pressure. Took awhile to figure out, but I unscrewed everything and took the tab completely off then it worked
Hi, I don't know if you're still responding to comments, but I can't find an answer no matter where I look My mechanic recently changed out the refrigerate hose and compressor after it exploded. The new system, when checking with the exact same gauge is deep in the yellow. Did he add too much freon? Or is there another issue? Or is it fine if it's in the yellow and will the pressure drop slowly? A response would be appreciated
It sounds like there may be things happening behind the scenes that are hard to understand without further diagnosis. Is the A/C blowing cold at this point?
@Acprocold Yes. It's chilly, but not the usual cold. So, it's like it's not cooling, but it is "working." Maybe the mechanic did something wrong purposely? He did have the vehicle for almost a week, claiming that he needed to "vacuum a leakage" but didn't vacuum until the day he returned the vehicle
Make sure to check what type of refrigerant your car uses. I made the mistake of assuming "R-134a" was the current type but it is not, "R-1234YF" is the current type (for newer cars) and the installation connectors are different. I found out after trying to connect my older AC Pro to my newer Hyundai and it didn't fit/connect. Auto parts stores carry mostly the R-134a refrigerants and tools so it's easy to get the wrong one. Check your car's label first! BTW - no surprise, the R-1234YF refrigerant and tool costs about 2x as much as the R-134a version.
Be sure to verify you have the right refrigerant type. R-134a and R-1234yf have different ports so the refrigerant cannot be dispensed into the incorrect system. You can check your vehicle's refrigerant type via the Spec Database on the Port Finder page of our website: www.acprocold.com/a-c-port-finder/
I've done this before with this product on a previous car, but this time nothing is happening when attached and I press the button. Everything is tightly connected and it did spray when not connected to the valve to make sure it's discharging something. The can hissed for a sec or two when moving the can around in the positions recommended, but nothing is happening. Any tips?
There's a new app update that uses your phone's camera to scan the UPC to make it easier. You only need the last 6 digits of the UPC. The last 6 digits includes a digit that's off to the right of the barcode.
Thank you SOO MUCH for this! Today, it will get up to a high of 97° here in NC, heat index 107. Because of your video, I can get out with my children today. I followed your instructions exactly, and succeeded!!! You Rock!!
To remove the coupler you need to pull back on the collar. It just pushes on without pulling back the collar, but to remove you need to pull back the collar.
If you have an old trigger designed for just piercing style cans then you either need an adaptor or a new gauge. rechargeac.com/product/dva-1-idq-r-134a-piercing-style-hose-to-self-sealing-valve-adapter/
Can I still try to do ac super seal for now? I don’t have the funds to replace everything right now but my ac loses charge in about 2-3 days after putting ac charge
You can add Super Seal now, but you need to chase it with refrigerant for it to work it's way around the system. You also need refrigerant for the system to function properly.
I put the degree of difficulty using AC Pro, just ahead of adding a quart of oil. Yes, it's that simple and easy... but DO watch the video. Shake until you cannot feel and liquid sloshing around.
The hose has a check valve in it so it will hold pressure and the gauge will show that reading when not connected. You just need to squeeze the trigger to release the pressure to reset.
My pressure was 26psi. On the low end of the green. I added some but only got to 30psi. It would not go up from there no matter how many times I added refrigerant. Air is maybe a little cooler but not cold like I was hoping. Leak?
My 2011 Camry AC suddenly started blowing hot air in 90+ degree weather! Saw reviews for this and decided to try it. I was just fooling around with the gauge when I got home and thought it seemed too easy. Took me about 2 minutes to recharge my system and now it works like new. This product is amazing!
I'm replaceing my a/c rad condensor , then i will add some pag oil to the condensor when fitting , new a.c dryer comes with the radiator ! ❤ Then i will try some stop leak and top up the a.c.....mine leaked out within 30 mins but was working fine for 5 months ! Got the part to do it but it's a hot day! It's my 2nd car anyway! I will do the job at the weekend when it gets cooler out! My car is 2006 so the rad is really old ! 142 k miles too!
Why doesn't my AC pro gauge that I bought just a few months ago have a temperature setting on the gauge? I bought this in a package with only the gauge, hose and coupler and no refrigerant can. It is made for both the old non sealing and the newer self-sealing cans. Also has a trigger on it to dispense the r134a. Is it made this way because the air temperature is not really that important?
I have the one with the dial on it. When I hook it up it starts in the white. When I pull the trigger it goes to green but again back to white when I let go. Didn't seem like it's supposed to do that.
Notice his shirt? In April 2015, the Armored AutoGroup was acquired by Spectrum Brands. Energizer bought the Spectrum Brands auto care business unit (including Armor All, STP and A/C Pro) for $1.25 billion in cash and stock. All great products. I'm so old, I remember the Granatelli/STP Indy Car and Richard Petty's STP stock car #43. STP, works, I use it in my 23 years old DOHC 2.0L engine. ZDDP is found in STP. The main application of ZDDPs are as anti-wear additives in lubricants including greases, hydraulic oils, and motor oils. ZDDPs also act as corrosion inhibitors and antioxidants. Concentrations in lubricants range from 600 ppm for modern, energy-conserving low-viscosity oils to 2000 ppm in some racing oils. Also, Andy Granatelli as the CEO of STP to help raise the product’s image. At the same time, Granatelli became the public face of STP, often wearing a white suit emblazoned with the red oval STP logo to races, distributing thousands of all-weather STP stickers. Granatelli ran two Novi specials at the 1964 Indianapolis 500. Jim Hurtubise and Bobby Unser were the drivers. An hour-long black and white film called 'Way of a Champion' was made of the 1964 and 1965 races, centering on the Novis. In 1970, STP CEO Andy Granatelli founded the STP Formula One Team. Mario Andretti was hired to drive. The team competed in a total of five races running a March Engineering chassis, their best result being a third place at the 1970 Spanish Grand Prix. In 1972 Granatelli agreed to sponsor NASCAR champion Richard Petty,[8] but their deal almost fell apart before their first race. Granatelli insisted the car be STP day-glo red. Petty held out for his iconic Petty blue, and neither would budge. The resulting two-tone red and blue scheme became more famous than either color alone.😁😇
One thing I wanted to add, do NOT be afraid to use the one that has a small amount of sealer in it. Sure, mechanics say the heavy duty sealer cans could make it worse, but I used the regular cans that have a LITTLE sealer in there. COLD, COLD, COLD, years later. I think the little bit they add does keep your charge up to snuff, longer. Because car AC, will be prone to leakage over time, even a new car. Car AC units are operating in a vibration-filled, kind of hostile environment, compared to say, a home HVAC unit.
I got a good used car in 2019 before Covid pricing, for $1,100 He said the AC worked, but it wasn't cold. It just needed a recharge. I DID look-up the ounces needed when totally devoid of charge. My small car called for 26 ounces, so I did one big can, and part of a smaller can, got it into green, and heck yes, been cold for 3 years now. My 2002 Focus ZX3 manual runs great, with REALLY cold air. To be really sure, I may get a one of those thermometers the pros use, that you stick several inches into the vent, should be able to be 42F or even lower. I have had like 1/2 a small can for 3 years, and need my $10 can deposit back from Walmart, so Imma check it today. Did the complete clutch/flywheel/brake master for $1000, at 207k MILES and 22+ years old including labor, I supplied the parts. What a money-saver! 😁
