Ha! I'm pretty sure that stuff isn't real cheese. A blowtorch probably couldn't melt it. That said, now that it's been a few years, I don't think this oven is the best air fryer. It does get hot fast and will brown things better than the standard oven setting. I am still happy with the stove but wouldn't get it just based on air frying. Thanks for watching 😀👍
@@Virtuenow I have never owned or even used a stand alone air fryer. I just can't justify using up my limited counter space with one. The oven air fryer works good for french fries, cheese sticks, and things like that. I've seen steak or chicken cooked in one but I have a smoker for that. I feed 4-5 people every day and a stand alone fryer just doesn't seem like it would have the capacity for me. My mom has an air fryer that looks like a toaster oven and she says it works good for just her and my dad instead of heating up the big oven. She does complain about cleaning it though. Sorry this is so long and wasn't a great answer. Love the questions though, keep them coming if you have more. 😎
Been scrolling thru different vids about this oven with air fryer. Just had ours installed today. I believe having the air fryer basket without the tray being a 1/2" under food would make a much bigger difference, since the tray is impeding air flow circulation. Haven't cooked anything on or in it yet, so can't really comment on the funtions yet. Thanks for vid.
It's been three years now since I made this video and I still don't have the fry basket lol. Still just use the flat sheet pan. I do love the oven though and am happy that I bought it. Good luck with yours and thanks for watching!
@CulinaryUndertaking ordered basket yesterday. I did notice big temp swings when testing it with my thermoworks ambient temp probe in center of oven. It was +/- 25°. Will see what happens when I break it in. Noticed temp probe is located in top left corner of oven, thinking center top would of been more ideal. But I'm no engineer lol.
@@t-reyh5937 I have never uses a thermometer to check the temp but I have never noticed a problem. I also keep a pizza stone in it so maybe that prevents any temp swings from being noticeable. Also I'm not sure if which version would make any difference, I have gas. Electric might act different? I probably shouldn't have ended that sentence with "I have gas" haha.
😊 I respectfully suggest that you brown your sliced sausage first, then add some sauerkrauf juice or water to deglaze, then the rest of your ingredients. You young folks can add more salt, but I think it would end up too salty.
Thank You for this video. I just bought a Frigadare stove last week. I am still learning how to use the oven. I was excited it had an air fryer and convection. But seriously I chose this stove for the price, it was on sale and met all my wants. The only difference I can see from yours and mine is I have a griddle, which I love. I have not purchased the air fryer so seeing what you did helped me make my mind up. Thanks again.
My stove has a griddle too. I've only used it a couple of times because I also have a Blackstone griddle outside. It's been a couple of years since I made this video & I still love this oven. I'm glad that you found this info helpful and was able to save you some money. Thanks for watching & commenting!
I haven't heard that but it should work. It's been a couple of years since I made the video & I still just use a cookie sheet or a cookie sheet with a drying rack on it and it works just fine. So, parchment or sheet, I don't see a need to buy the special air fry rack from Frigidaire. Thanks for watching & commenting! 🙂👍
I know, I know. My wife HATES onions so I never make it with them. Sometimes when filming a recipe I forget that I'm cooking for a broader audience. It is still good without them, but I hear you. Thanks for watching & commenting!
I hear ya. Overall I like the oven a lot and would definitely buy it again. The air fryer function isn't the greatest though. It works good for fries and smaller items but I wouldn't air fry a steak or wings. Thanks for watching & commenting!
I love your easy to follow recipe and I shall be cooking this for my grand children because they're so picky with their food and hopefully they'll take to the sweet potato topping. Thanks for sharing.
This is a really good recipe, in fact, I like it better than regular shepherd's pie. Good luck with the grandkids, I hope they enjoy it as much as I do. Thanks for watching & subscribing!
Yes, high pressure. On my machine I just use the manual setting and it automatically goes to high. Thanks for the question, sorry if it wasn't clear in the video.
Hey Joe! I'm doing ok, can't believe it's been a year since my last video. After the two months to deal with my daughters appendix I just can't seem to get motivated to get back into the video making. I'm still cooking and having fun though. I hope things have been going good for you 😃👍
@@CulinaryUndertaking Good to hear! Take care of your daughter and I hope all is good. Culinary Instructor gig has been challenging but rewarding. How are your turtles going along?
@@theguyshow3392 They are doing just fine & slowly getting bigger. We just got a new puppy & that is a lot of work. I bet being an instructor is tough, I'm glad you sound like you're getting something out of it in return. I enjoyed your teaching video class that I watched.
I still don't have that basket even after a year later. I do use the air fryer setting all the time to make fries, breaded shrimp, mozzarella sticks and other stuff. I should break down and get the fryer basket though. Maybe for my birthday... Thanks for watching!
Thank you for reviewing this oven and actually using the air fry mode. Many reviewers have stated, they can’t use the air fry mode because the oven smokes profusely. I’m now realizing they’re probably not putting anything under the basket. Also, many reviewers mentioned oil on their air fried food. I thought the purpose of an air fryer was to move away from oil, so again it’s my unwarranted assumption that the oil is also contributing to the oven smoking.
I do not use any oil when I use the air fry mode and have never had a smoking issue. I think you're right, because I use the baking sheet. I hope this review helped you. Thanks for watching!
In my experience with the Instant Pot so far, cooking times are always the same no matter the quantity of food. For instance, on chicken breast takes the same time as 10, 1 cup of rice is the same time as 4 cups... I hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
Hello friends!!.// Incredibly cool ...come to listen and land the full duration package // Don't forget to stop by my stall ❤️ 4 thousand warriors watch thank you..!!
That sounds great, I hope you enjoy it! I would have added onions to mine but sadly my wife does not like them. Which means that I rarely ever get to cook with onions 😢. Thanks for watching & supporting!
I've heard that but so far it has not been an issue for me. I set the temp & time on the box and just keep a close eye on the food. I have ended up with a few extra crispy edge pizzas though 😂. Thanks for watching!
Hey Joe! I am doing fine. Took some time off for my daughters appendix removal surgeries and now trying to get motivated to get back on here. I need a kick in the butt 😂. Thanks for checking on me. I hope you are doing well 👍.
@@CulinaryUndertaking Right on ! Happy to hear it and all my best to your daughter recovery. I got a new gig , I am a high school culinary arts instructor in Orange County so I haven’t posted in a while too. School starts August 31 and I am putting my ducks in order. I am working on a golf video and a new driver unboxing I need to tape. Take Care Brother!
@@theguyshow3392 Congrats on the new job! It sounds fun and challenging at the same time. High schoolers can be a tough crowd so make sure you pack some heat 🤣. I hope you still find time for the occasional video on here cause I do enjoy them. Good Luck!!!!
Samsung has an air fryer oven that we just installed today. I did notice something about your cut pizza doughs. The baked pizza dough at 6:13 compared to the fryer pizza dough at 6:59 look very different. I like the larger holes in the fryer dough. Also, do you think it would help to rotate the pan halfway through, like a conventional oven? I can't wait to try our fryer!
I don't think it is necessary to rotate food on the air fryer setting because that fan is circulating the air really fast. I haven't noticed hot or cold spots on the air fryer setting. I have found that following the air fryer directions on packaged food doesn't translate to this oven. I just follow the baking directions & temps but set the oven to air fryer mode instead of bake. A little experimenting & playing around and you'll get the hand of it pretty quick. Enjoy your new oven & thanks for watching!
I have heard of oyster stuffing, the thought of raw oysters in stuffing seemed unnecessary to put it lightly. But smoked oysters is a game changer, sort of. Nonetheless, I enjoyed watching you put it together TJ!
You have to be a fan of smoked oysters for sure but if you are then you will love adding them to stuffing. People seem to either love or hate this dish, not much in between. Luckily I am a fan & do enjoy it. Thanks for watching!
My daughters appendix burst. 1st surgery wasn't able to do anything so she was home on antibiotics for 2 weeks and slowly recouping. She has to have a 2nd surgery now to remove it, probably the end of April. We see surgeon tomorrow. So, been dealing with that instead of new videos. Plus, both kids had birthdays last week.
@@daveym2828 She is a trooper. Back in school & feeling better but not looking forward to another surgery. They say the 2nd one will be far easier to recover from and not much down time. Thanks 😃👍
