That is a really cool video. I was unsure how to make the conversion, but now I will cause it seems so simple. Thanks a lot to have taken the time to do this.
If I use a 2wd 4L80E and cut the tail housing shaft will I need to run a VSS on the t-case or will the 2wd 4L80E already have a VSS running to the computer and can I use my mechanical speedometer
Thank you for this video. Will the mower overheat by disabling the shutoff? Why the heck do they put this part in if it's not needed. In Canada, the John deere part is $250.
Desperate for answers, I really hope you see this. Lx255 runs until hot then wants to die, I can limp it back to my trailer by fluctuating choke. Starts again next day to do the same over again, what gives? I’m at my wits end. Thank you in advance!
@@LonniesGarage wow, thank you so much for seeing this right away. could it be electrical even knowing that I need to use choke to keep it running? I did suspect the coil or the fuel solenoid, but the choke part of the equation has me stumped
honestly i might follow this to disable the solenoid on my craftsman riding mower as it is really messing with the carburetor and making the engine run poorly. i really dont know why these kinds of things are installed as it tends to create more problems than it solves.
do you know where i would get be able to get another bracket that mounts to the frame? mine is really bent out of shape and the linkage pushes it around
Are you only going to use one tank? I’m looking forward to watch one of your videos on dual tanks if you ever make one.. not sure if your k10 is dual tank or not, mine is. Thanks for the tips
Very helpful, thank you sir! I'm usually messing with older Kohler engines, but have been working with I/C Briggs and Strattons on a custom project I'm putting together and you have saved me considerable headache!
Can't believe this was the problem. I removed the solenoid and it worked properly in my hand so I didn't want to cut it. Instead I found a float bowl bolt with gasket from a club car golf cart and it plugged the solenoid hole perfectly 😂 it runs like new 😂 zip tied the wires to the intake manifold, off and mowing. ❤
Hi! Great video, i just did this on my 82 C10 yesterday but now the battery voltage gauge isn’t working also the cluster lights don’t come on! Also on the diagram you’ve mentioned to tie #4 wire with #17 is that correct?
You don't need to heat up the harmonic balancer. That is a bad idea... it can ruin the front seal and ruin the harmonic ballancer itself. Not to mention, you will likely burn yourself. It is just not necessary.
Great video been looking all over for this. Is the pickup you were working on a short or long bed? I have a short bed 1985 k10 and I am hoping to use the stuff you listed.
I bought a lokar and it's crazy tight, like in a bind..can't get to prvd but they're all very very close. I'll have to take a closer look at the stock one.
Do you know where to get a replacement engine side male plug for the connector? The bunch that is for the engine harness. Been searching and can’t find a part number.
@@LonniesGarage Yeah… been through all the fuses… switch seems to be good (ohmed it) going to start tracing. I can’t seem to find if mines different because it started life as a 6.2 diesel. 1982 GMC K2500 Appreciate the videos Still very helpful!
I’m doing the same thing right now, did you run into any issues with the adapter hole pattern not matching the 208’s bolt pattern? Seems like all the holes line up but one or two. Pretty certain I have the same adapter as you.
@@LonniesGarage Weird, I’ll have to double check that adapter make sure it’s right. I have a 4x4 4l80e and it’s the adapter that was on it. Thanks for the quick reply.
