I find it's a typical american thing to say something like "when and where I would listen to this music while I'm driving?" like music was a practical tool something that should be useful on a practical level and nothing more than that.
It's a Cold War era song from 1981 about end stage capitalism vs. communism. "The Hand That Takes" is a reference to capitalism. The song was written after Laurie Anderson was inspired by the Iranian hostage crisis and the U.S.'s military presence around the world.
You should watch the live videos. They use a lot of self made instruments based on historical findings or scripts (same as the lyrics). The whole show is a journey into your own soul. The best live experience i ever had.
Lyrics B.F.P.O. Army dreamers Mammy's hero B.F.P.O. Mammy's hero Our little army boy Is coming home from B.F.P.O. I've a bunch of purple flowers To decorate mammy's hero Mourning in the aerodrome The weather warmer, he is colder Four men in uniform To carry home my little soldier But he didn't have the money for a guitar (What could he do?) (Should have been a politician) But he never had a proper education (What could he do?) (Should have been a father) But he never even made it to his twenties What a waste Army dreamers Oh, what a waste of Army (army) dreamers (dreamers) Tears o'er a tin box Oh, Jesus Christ, he wasn't to know Like a chicken with a fox He couldn't win the war with ego Give the kid the pick of pips And give him all your stripes and ribbons Now he's sitting in his hole He might as well have buttons and bows But he didn't have the money for a guitar (What could he do?) (Should have been a politician) But he never had a proper education (What could he do?) (Should have been a father) But he never even made it to his twenties What a waste Army dreamers Ooh, what a waste of Army (army) dreamers (dreamers) Ooh, what a waste of all them Army (army) dreamers (dreamers) Army (army) dreamers (dreamers) Army (army) dreamers (dreamers), oh B.F.P.O. Army dreamers Mammy's hero B.F.P.O. Army dreamers Mammy's hero B.F.P.O. No hard heroes Mammy's hero B.F.P.O. Army dreamers Mammy's hero B.F.P.O.
I would recommended the band The Ocean and their song Jurassic|Cretaceous live. As a tool fan, i think you'll love it. Warning strobe effects. Enjoy🤟 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_zpJgqJs35A.htmlsi=_GqCjkTm0k-jUZaA
The song is called honourable subscribers or members , it’s about keyboard warriors putting you down one minute , telling you to change your style , or your not making us money be nicer etc they are telling them , I’m gonna be me deal with it
6:23 - It's still called a key, even if you key on something that's not green. Like a luma key for an example, keying on what's bright, which is probably what they keyed on in this scenario hence his eyes and teeth disappear.
It's ok. I only discovered PT a few years ago too. Now they are well and truly in my top 5, along with Tool. In some ways, I think Gavin Harrison is the better drummer....but it's pretty close 😄 Happy discovering. PT are incredible.
This is perfectly sophisticated, given the context. I mean, she's playing a dead person. That's a ghost that's at the window of her lover who killed her and she's come home. She's cold, let her in. I mean it works
You should react to charging the void too, its just amazing how everything leads up to the very last minute of this song. And I mean all the songs on the album lead up to that grand finale. Such a masterpiece
Hello, Tool Fan Reacts I like to request BAND-MAID/CLANG please! BAND-MAID is an all female Japanese hard rock band that dresses up as cafe maids 😆 But these ladies are no joke and play harder than the guys most of the time. These ladies have 40M views on reaction channels alone so If you don’t mind thousands of rock and metal heads coming to your channel you may want to check em out! 😊 Could you also give me a shoutout for introducing them to you? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RNJxKL5Ylf4.htmlsi=4H_uYYkvHBOfVFL2
Great vid mate. I'm from Yorkshire and have the day off tomorrow. I'm meeting my brother for a walk on Haworth Moor, the wuthering heights that I've walked countless times. There's a poem by Kate Bush etched into the stone up there. I myself have poems buried in the hillside. Maybe one day many years from now someone will dig them up and wonder about the author and the girl they're about. It's a fine place.
Videos like these kept me sane (and hopeful for humanity) during the madness of covid lockdowns and mandates ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Je75AtbrPh8.html
I can’t believe people are still reacting to this for the first time. This came out a decade ago. I’ve been fortunate to see them live 3 times in Atlanta, Georgia!
