My reference performer of Beethovens piano sonatas.....used to be W. Bachauss....but that was from hearing with a 10 years old ears..,,how sound has changed over 70 years or so....❤😂😊
Bravo! Learning this prelude myself, so I know all the hard bits and he pretty much nailed them. Love this piece! Very clean performance, and yet still full of magical touch, and a very enjoyable interpretation. (oh, and thanks for a couple of fingering tips! :)) )
(I left this comment in the other video of Myeongdong Cathedral concert but I want you to have it here too) Prof Sohn, do you know that, when you are playing this great work with such passion, purity, and reverance in the Myeongdong holy sanctuary, you are the most beautiful creature on the planet earth? 😂I truly mean it from my heart. 🌻
What a beautiful, spiritual interpretation! In this "simple" sonata, which is also called a sonatina, and which many pianists play - let's say - mechanically, maestro Minsoo Sohn brings out nuances, gives it warmth and romantic life. Although the sonata was composed by the young Beethoven before three "first" sonatas Opus 2, romanticism already lives in this sonata. Maestro Minsoo demonstrates this wonderfully. Many thanks, maestro!
