First of all, thank you for checking out my channel.
This channel is all about fishing and what comes with the territory, such as camping, hiking, drinking, and hanging out with good people. Jason and I are passionate about fishing and exploration; we thought we would share our adventures with you guys whenever possible. We love hiking into backcountry lakes here in Montana and viewing them in a completely different way via float tubes. Hope you guys stick with the channel and watch us grow.
Love that lake. I look forward to your content. I know nearly every lake you've guys been to that you've posted. I have some others that are worth checking out and would be happy to give you the deets since it seems like you can keep a secret. Happy fishing, guys!
As always, thanks for taking us along. I just bought a float tube and was wondering how you have yours set up? Would you mind filing your setup while on the water next time?
@@Fishthe406 Much appreciated. I bought the Outcast Summit. I saw that you're using a shorter handle net, is that your preference over a longer handle or is a shorter net just easier to pack in? How do you inflate at these alpine lakes? Thanks in advance!
@@lolwutyoutube7561 I am not sure what valve you have, but you should be able to get the Flextail tiny pump 2x to work with it. I also recommend a balloon pump to top it off.
@@lolwutyoutube7561 About the net, I just got this net because it is liter. While fishing from the tube, i really dont notice the difference between the two. I have noticed that my new net is more shallow than my fishpond. Not sure if I like that.
Been a strange year, Still so cold up high. We did the Kootenai yesterday. What a waste of time and was damn cold and windy. This week is more like an day in early May What the heck. Time is coming you will start to slay again.
@@Fishthe406 I think fall is the best time to catch them from shore. I caught one last September along with a bunch of resident coho (10-12") and some nice Sea Run Cutts.
Glad to see you back. Been out once for smallies at echo. Love the azaleas in Washinton this time of year. almost looked like the hood canal area. Caught see runs on Vancouver Island once....Fish the Pacific Northwest? lol.
Dang, you are spot on. I was definitely in the hood canal. What a magical spot. This was my first time fishing in another state lol. I would like to go back for the salmon run and test my luck.
I have used this float tube 3 or 4 times last year. the Wilderness Lite exceeded my expectations by far. All three pockets are large, you can fit clothes, shoes, drinks in the back pocket and whatever else you need on the side pockets. I will say you will want to get the ice out seat, which will allow you to sit above the water somewhat. I am 150LBS and it works great for me, my friend was 240 last year and he didnt think it was that bad even for him. Overall a great float tube for backpacking trips, I recomended it.
Any day on the water is a good one. it wouldn't be as fun if it was great all the time, right ...lol. Lake R was good to me last week and i will go again this week. I still need to find a good Brookie lake. Snow in the forecast so I hope you get out a few more times. Always look forward to the videos. Keep them coming!!
I do get it with the pack. I use one of the old style from early 2000's. Classic large pack, with chambers weighs 5lbsish. Fun part has great straps, have had a hind quarter of an elk in there lots of times. It is made for weight and fits great. With the WL float tube, I can stick that little thing in one of the front pouches and not even get into the main with waders and fly gear. My friend has that type of pack, not my think either, He likes the weight, I carry all the extra food and water and beer!
its way cooler that you guys take the high mountain lake/float tube approach stripping leaches around and not just out hitting the same stretch's of river as everyone else .. keep up the good work guys love the videos.. im gonna run into you all one of these times!
I am so out of the river game, I don't even know where a good strech is lol. I do want to catch a supriorer whitefish on a fly rod, they should be running soonish. Thank you for the comment, I'm sure we will run into each other one of these days.
Well done guys! This is my favorite early and late season lake. But this year; its been terrible for me! I tubed it two weeks ago and was skunked! In June, I managed a couple of fish.....talked with one guy who'd fished it two straight days without any success! There's a miniature version of it on the east side of the divide that I plan to fish tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll catch some fish......
Oh yes, we have done that before. Luckily never this lake, yet. Good luck tomorrow, we are going to hit this lake up one more time before all the fish vanish.
Yes, but not enough. They were planted in this lake illegally. I know Fwp wants them gone, but the limit is only 20 brook trout. Not sure why there is a limit on a fish they want completely gone.
I've followed you for a few years so I know you guys put in the time. I feel you both deserved a day like this on the lake. Your videos really make me homesick for Montana sometimes. This was one of those times!
@@Fishthe406 I don't live there but do get to fish in AK a lot due to my work. I am just down the road from you in Stevensville. So I get the best of both worlds. Keep up the good work!
I love the content, im a media arts student at UM, missoula. Im using these videos as inspiration to venture out more, im just learning to fish. Ive fished the rattlesnake creek and clark fork, both pretty much just in town though. Well edited, chill vibe, good music.
You had me laughing at the beginning. "There are people here?" I've often pulled up to a trailhead, only to turn around when I see that I won't be alone. I thought I recognized the lake, in my neck of the woods at that, but the goats were a curveball. Keep 'em coming!
Haha, yeah wasnt a big fan of the four groups of campers, however, they did leave as we were fishing. This is a complete assumption, but I beleive the goats belonged to "travelers", but i could be wrong. They had around 5 or 6 goats.
Beautiful eagle shots! Was not expecting those types of goats..lol. Good catching but i hear you, the experience is sometimes more important than the catching. Always enjoy your videos!!
