Oh my goodness, this is amazing. I'd have loved to have seen this and this is the next best thing. Joseph Paxton also designed our local Birkenhead Park and Princess Park in Liverpool. Obviously Central Park in New York was inspired by Birkenhead Park too.
We used to live in Twickenham (near Richmond) so we've enjoyed Isabella many times over the years. It's gorgeous but it hasn't quite peaked in this video. The best time to see it is Whitsuntide.
It seems like you would want to have enough rocks above the top of the saucer/container holding the rocks in the event it were to rain. Probably not an issue for those in climates where it is typically dry through most of mid-spring to mid-fall.
lovely - thanks for putting this up. On a mindfulness walk, I would look all around and up to the canopies and sky and look closely at the flowers, the bark, the leaves, often pausing to do so. Can I suggest that future such videos could be use some of this so that the images are on different levels, with pauses and close ups and looking all around and with less looking at the path?
I was lucky enough to visit Regent's Park several times during my stay in London from 1997 to 2003. I am happy that some excellent and amazing works have been created in the park. Please continue with your great works. PEACE.
While Britain's cultural heritage and inheritance is sold off to foreign concerns, the giants who built such are abandoned under an intoxicating digital mist, a seething mirage of virtual reality that quickens the blood of the youth and at once dulls the senses of what is truly meaningful in the world. RIP Joseph Paxton
I absolutely LOVE the Royal Parks. When I feel down or a bit low, I walk in one of the parks, and being close to nature gives me a reboot. Yesterday (Sunday) I went for a long walk in Regents Park. Thanks for all the great work you do, and many of us out here gain great joy from these lovely green open spaces.
