If Max does go to Mercedes then Horner will be on the phone to Mark Webber trying to get Piastri......that might open up a spot for CarLando again....back to smooth operations at McLaren.....
Carlos should take the Merc seat on a one year prove it deal. If it works, great, then if Mercedes is the best engine for 2026, he will have options if they don't want to resign him.
Does Max really fancies a go at Russell? Max doesn’t seem like the type to like direct competition. He would want to be absolute number 1 status and as long as I’ve known Mercedes, they have given their two drivers more or less equal rights and that is not going to be looked with good eyes from Max.
If I was in charge of Red Bull, (first off I wouldn't have renewed Perez) I would let Perez and Riccardo go. I would put Lawson in Riccardo's seat immediately and would give Sainz a contract for Perez's seat. That would give Liam time to be up to full speed come next season. Sainz will ensure that both cars are scoring points and thus should help secure the constructor's championship next season. Would Red Bull let Max go over sacking Horner? That would be an interesting situation.
Shame on you Marc Prestley for riding on the back of Hamilton to get clicks on your pitiful channel. Have you forgotten your recent dig at Lewis in the European media? Judas would blush at your brazenness mate!
It was great to see Lewis winning, I did think we were going to have to wait until he joined Ferrari before we saw it again. Sainz taking his time is interesting, curious that none currently seem to be a clear yes.
Who would want to sign Ocon? I mean he will run his team-mate off at will. I'd rather sign Seargant then(bringing his money). At least he won't be crashing his teammate.
The British GP was a great race. It actually felt like Lando, George, Lewis, Max and Oscar were all going for the win!!. Formula 1 is always exciting when the top teams are competitive with each other but to see Lewis win at the British GP after so long was epic!!.
Thx Marc. Oooh, interesting to get your feedback on the various stories. I take your feedback very seriously as I know you’ve not saying these things as click bate. The whole potential move to Merc for Max in 2025 is fascinating. I believe it’s normal that drivers like to be in a team where there are welcomed, where they feel supported, where there’s a good/positive environment etc etc. But, does Max actually care about all that? He’s a different character to many drivers and I just don’t know how “sensitive” he is to such team environments. IF he is, then a move to Merc seems to make good sense, particularly when you add in their new found success and 2026 engine development. Thoughts?
There's a lot more to it than that, much of which hasn't yet come out, but will. Verstappen camp, especially senior, not happy with Horner and the way his alledged behaviour' has been handled.
I am not a Lewis fan, Max, Oscar, Lando, even George a bit but not Lewis, however it was nice to see him win it. On Max leaving. Merc and the others have only just caught up to Red Bull. Why? Has Red Bull been throwing everything at the car to keep them at bay, to keep the dominance or are they spending more on next years and the year after car? I assume that McLaren and Merc and Ferrari have been devoting much more resource to finally catch them than Red Bull does to stay there. Unfortunately, Checo's poor form makes it harder for Red Bull to cruise to victory from here, but that is what they will do and arrive with a much more developed car that their competitors next year, and Max knows that.
Lets Think Big: Sainz jr and snr smashing championships for red bull in separate disciplines will make sporting history like no other - lewis grabbing a championship with a 3rd team of all which is ferrari will make sporting history like no other.
“I love you Bonno” is the coolest thing I’ve ever heard in 40 years following this thing. Watching it back, it’s just as special when one further understand the context of what Lewis and Bonno have been through since Abu Dhabi.
The Verstappen/RedBull fans need something sweet to help get rid of the bad taste in their mouths! Maybe try a lemon! 9th win at Silverstone, 104th career win. No wonder they keep calling for him to retire! You can smell their fear! Congratulations, Sir Lewis Hamilton!
Lawson is also doing a test in the VCARB/alpha tauri car (cant remember which one) at the end of July as well from what I understand too. Give him a seat.
I think perez is already failing on 2 of his performance clauses. 1 being more than 100 points behind max and another being so many places behind max in the standings
Poor Lewis must be wishing he hadn't been so hasty to swap teams. Mercedes looking like a winning team now while Ferrari look more like a mid table team. If Max jumps team to Merc next then I fear Lewis may be suicidal.
What's to gain, by doing that? He was still in the top few positions, so they'd have been throwing away valuable constructors' points, on purpose. As it is now, they may've saved him an engine, from his allocation. S
That race was a turning point for Lewis' confidence, in the car, in himself and in the sport. You could see the weight being lifted off his shoulders with every tear and every cheer ... and that's gotta be worth a couple o' tenths at least from here on in!
@@officialWWM Even as a Mercedes fan myself, I am still doubting their pace. They say a tree does not make a forest. Just one win by Lewis and everyone is talking about Mercedes having a championship winning car again. Let's wait and see how other races pan out.
I can't see Checo as that bad a driver, one season or so ago he was challenging Max for the front, and then zap and he can't find his butt with both hands. I think you know what I am eluding to, and some of the players involved in it.
Shed a small tear NGL. Would love it if Ferrari gives him a competitive package next year. Just heard you left WD and glad you will still be on our screens. All the best.
I'm a big Lewis fan. The win is special. I think the prospect of this win opening into another era of him regularly winning is pretty low, though. The quality of the competition is insanely high, his one-lap speed is probably not where it used to be (meaning, he's still faster than most, but not everyone), and Max is operating at a level that perhaps no one ever has. Sad, as I really think Lewis v. Max was the F1 that meant the most to me. Max v. Lando or Max v. Charles is less exciting somehow.
Yesterdays win for Sir Lewis was simply superb, I’ve cheered him on since he started, and in some way shared his pain over 2021 and in the last two seasons where the car simply wasn’t good enough, to see the emotion yesterday and how much that win meant to him was incredible, his depth of self belief and inner strength is on another level all together.
Put Hamilton in a decent car he can definitely win a 9th title im hoping Adrian Newey goes to Ferrari with Lewis, i bet races like that make you Elvis want to go back into F1 ? 😉
Did you mean “not a fan”? If so I had the same feelings about his win. It’s hard not to like Lewis and if anything makes me actually dislike him as a personality is how he is of course a big time SJW and a little too “thankful, grateful, and of course blessed” and it comes off a bit fake to me. So it’s not I don’t like the person I just pull and cheer for another team and driver. I however wanted him to win last weekend at Silverstone after a certain point in the race. It seemed that it had weighed much heavier than I expected on his shoulders during his winless streak. We as fans love the emotion he showed just before the podium and that was great. “Get in there Lewis!!!” That’s a one off.
Congrats to Lewis, and taking the record for longest time between first and (at the moment) last wins. Max meanwhile in my opinion has really shown his world champion status at races like this and Canada where he's getting more points than I'd expect. On the flip-side, I messaged my friend straight after the race and said "If I had a quid for every race Lando has had the pace to win and not converted, I'd have about a fiver by now which isn't a lot but it's a little concerning" as on my eye-test alone, Mclaren should be about level in the constructors by now not nearly 80 points behind. I stop by occasionally and your thoughts are always interesting Marc, keep it up!
Fact check? When was the last time Alonso was on the top step? Obviously, you don't deal with facts! Delusional! Try sucking on a lemon. It might help get rid of that bad taste in your mouth!
