I made it 71 years, not knowing what that twisted piece of wire was for. My friend said holding a match. I still don’t know how to hold a wood match with it. 😊
Thank you so much, this was the exact fix for replacement Weber Spirit burner tube set. I had no idea and just installed them but apparently they ship with this part in mostly closed position letting very little air in.
Thank you for making videos, good job. . I hate to nit pick but it’s air, not oxygen going into the burners. Air is only 21% oxygen. The rest is nitrogen and perhaps 1% Argon. You’d have one heck of a flame if it was 100% oxygen blowing in lol!
Could also be not enough propane due to a clogged orifice. Usually on older grills. Would have to remove orifices with small wrench or socket and clean them with a fine wire and some compressed air. If the air shutters have never been messed with during grills life then they likely don't need to be. They are set at the factory. Check air shutters for debris and rust-through as well. If so then it's time for a new grill.
It's sad so many quality stainless grills get thrown away ,😢 we have to do better to recycle and repair . I just got a quality stainless grill , its like a $3000 dollar grill, I paid $40 at the scrap yard and $25 for new burners.and $12 for a full gas bottle at the local thrift store time to party like a rock star ! 😁 They should be teaching the kids in high school how to fix things instead of some crazy upper level math that only one in a hundred million will ever need ! As a kid I had to take everything thing apart to understand how it works that way I would know how to fix it.
Thank you for the tips, will it work with every commercial gas grill? I used to have alot of problem pilot/ignition light/flame not staying on. Thanks again.
Thanks. A few years ago I decided to replace the burners, flavor bars and ignitor on my 2005 Genesis Silver C Weber Grill. That was a real bad boy grill at the time. Anyways I could tell the grill didnt cook as well after that. It was like the power was in the back and the middle and front burners were just okay. I didnt realize that maybe I needed to adjust the air flow vents to set the burners to that even blue flame. This video proves that yes one should look at the flames after install and adjust accordingly, I figure if I'm going to do the work to get at the ends of the tubes and it takes a little doing, might as well just get new burners for 28 bucks from Amazon and replace the ignitor as well. At my age this will probably be the last time. PS, my grill is well cared for and looks showroom condition. I use it year round even in the dead of winter here in Minny. Thanks for the info, I'm going to try what you said to do.
thanks so much! this instantly answered my question! i thought they were some kind of structural brace between the burners. i just replaced the burners and one wasn’t lighting but i put an old one between the burners and presto! i just ordered three replacement ones
best explanation of this venturi, and its relation to blue vs orange. for me, i'm trying to get the orange wavy on my firepit, but it's coming out like a bunsen burner like your grill! i think i need to close the valve to reduce O2 mixing too much, because i hear it hissing pretty loud.
So if you have the piezo knobs as shown in the last couple of minutes, can you replace the ignition function with a universal battery-operated one by just connecting the outputs of that box to the individual electrodes? Seems like a pain to take apart the grill to replace all of the entire assemblies rather than plugging in some leads - just not sure if it's possible and there's very little info on that type of retrofit.
MAAM, I LOOKED AT 7 OR 8 MEN AND I'M PROUD TO SAY THAT YOU FIX MY GRILL. MY WIFE TOLD ME TO BUY A NEW ONE HOWEVER THIS ONE WIFEY BIRTHDAY PRESENT FROM MY WIFE 😂🎉🎉😊😊😊😊THANK-YOU SO MUCH!
5:00 pm pdt 9/2/23 I have a 2 burner Napoleon grill with an additional burner on the outside for boiling etc. changed tanks and only able to light one of the 3 fully. When I light one, full flame but when adding a second, the flame on both is barely on. Worked fine b4 new tank. Have tried all the remedies recommended like resetting the regulator. Mike R
After changing out the tank and nothing, I thought try RU-vid. After everything else failed, I found your video. Guess we’re off to get a new regulator. And hopefully my husband will quit pouting cuz I found the solution. Thanks and fingers crossed this works.
Why would I have nice blue flames when starting the grill on HI, but after closing it and letting it warm up to over 500 degrees after a while, all four burners then have yellow flames on HI? Is it too hot in there to get enough oxygen at that point?
my grill feel over now low flame when i turn other burners on, did the reset tank start where you turn off unscrew wait then turn on slow. same ☹️ when on if i tap on burners they go high but then go back down maybe regulater bad ?

Don’t waste your life watching. No magic cleaning solution, just comments for dummies, wire wheel and paint. So many better ways to restore cast iron, and without paint.
Got a new propane grill, 2 burners, great for 2-3 people. The right burner flame is orange instead of blue & the max temp it will hit is 500 F instead of you know 650 plus. I've Googled, read manual etc. Any advice would be appreciated
Great informative videos. I just wish you didn't have to wake up my entire apartment building with that lead-in music. A little loud on the bass doncha think? LOL Anyways....
Sorry, didn't mean to confuse you! She definitely just misspoke. It's been addressed in previous comments, but those are old by now. Thanks for the feedback!
Hi! My grill has 5 burners. burner #2 doesn’t light up. #1 and #3 both function normally, so I suppose the carry over tubes are fine. Any idea what might be the problem?
Hi! Can you tell if each burner lights individually? In other words, is there a clicking noise when you turn on each knob? If so, most likely the knob for number two has a malfunction with the ignition
We're getting ready to upload a video about resetting your regulator. It's one step you can take before you replace it completely and sometimes it can help.
