I have a question, I'm sure it's been asked before, so I apologize in advance. I am shifting from processing short term to a longer period between extractions...... what are the chances of the loss of gold (if any) as the length of time spent in my AP increases ? Is there a point where it's negatively impacting my outcome ? I have learned alot so the fact that you actually take the time to help us less informed is amazing! Thank you for your time
I was thinking a 'simple' test using an ohm-meter would determine if paint, oxidized aluminium or gold. If a 'slight' touch is conductive - gold If a 'slight' touch is barely conductive - aluminium If a 'slight' to 'hard' touch is barely conductive - paint
I have came across these , along with heatsinks and some random things like this. Wasn't sure but just separated them . They are not good for gold but good at teaching my son, not everything is good use of acids......
Sir thx for the video, i remember you do not need to cut of the metal from the chips with a pliers, just rub them to either side a couple of times with your finger and they break off easily. You save a lot of time and pliers. Let me know if it worked..it should. Greetings
A good video explaining and showing that there's a lot more that goes into getting the material to process than some people realize. I started out taking pretty much everything off of the boards, but as I am learning from others I have started to get more selective on what I take. Unfortunately there's just not enough time to go after everything. But on the plus side, I can go through more boards in a shorter amount of time which means I can build up the amount of what I'll attempt to process quicker (ic chips, bga's, gold corner bga's, fingers, etc). Looking forward to seeing your next video!
Can you film a video showing your heat gun depopulating the boards? I have a hear gun, it has 900 & 1500 degrees, but even at 1500 degrees it takes forever to depopulate just 1 board. Perhaps it's my hear gun, but sheesh!
yeah sure i can do that for ya . i do already have videos showing how i depopulate boards if you look back through my videos. it will give you an idea of how i do them in the meantime while i make another video for you
I think most who watch the videos also like to scrap. I have several computer repair shops that give me the junk computers. But when micro scrapping nobody wants to watch me spend weeks stripping down computer fan motors for a tiny bit of copper. But I do it. And strip the copper from the wires in the power supply. I am relatively new to gold recovery. I go after the cheap stuff to learn while saving up the good stuff. I don't expect more than 1/4 gram per kilo on the transistors I am crushing now. But I had about 4 kilos and my can was full. I got almost no silver but should get a tiny bit of gold. I have pounds of ic chips same for ram. Gold corner bag are adding up. I want to get the process down pat on the cheap stuff before risking mistakes on the better stuff.
yeah i also gop for the copper , brass , etc . its a good source of money to pay for acids. im glad your chips are building up , you really cant go wrong with them . i try to make my videos as explanitory and as clear step by step as i can . however if you ever have questions , im happy for you to ask me. thats the whole reason i make these videos . my sole aim is to help newbies because it was so hard for me when i learnt . there was no decent videos for me to watch when i started 14 years ago
wow thats a good price. i used to strip everything off and just leave blank boards , i used to go after every gold pin. but getting rid of the waste became too much of an issue so now id rather just leave a few things on the boards which have a really poor gold content and sell the boards. now getting rid of them is a breeze
My friend we have gone back and forth on using ap to dissolve pins. I don't bother pulling them from the plastic now. But good news is you know that hard puck you get in ap? That when you filter your ap off tand catch whatever golds there you can dissolve that puck in warm water in moments. Put the AP back on and start over.
nah i refuse to use ap on pins anymore. you will see why when i finally upload the video on large military gold pins. theyve been in ap now for months and months. i only use ap on boards from now on
Big, small, or microscopic, gold is gold and every little bit adds up! Glad to see you at least got something. Looking forward to seeing your next video!!
Nice accent man, im foreigner but still understand what you talking about, your accent heard so American even you from Australia. Love your video, especially the recovery gold from laser diode, i request you make another one video about this topic because DVD optic had no value as scrap, people just throw it away.
I would like to say somethings are silver that we overlook like the brass connectors those will be a mix of nickel, gold, and silver plated connectors that most say are just nickel some yes but not all you can also test silver with bleach
My friend we are in the different boats. Just because we are far apart. I am taking my wife to visit her family. While I don't like them it's all good. I've used Google to find places that I can prospect and pan for gold.i have 6 days to try different spots. If I find anything great. If not great because her family doesn't like it when I said I can't send them money.
Thanks for the update. Best of luck in the prospecting. May you have pans full of the shiny yellow stuff! Looking forward to seeing videos of your trip!!
I had same problem multiple times and used this same process to start again aluminium it works perfect. I gave up on forums such as gold forum bcos all you get is hokems book hokems book and ppl who dnt give answers and just act like no it alls. Excellent explanation great to see it's still helping ppl 3yrs after posting it. Good on ya
I don't go on the forum anymore, for that same reason. when I was learning there were no videos like these, the only place I could get info from was the forum and all they said was read the book read the book read the book. all I wanted was straight answers what was I doing wrong? this is why I made this channel to help people, I hope I'm doing that.
Thanks for the update. Good to hear your girlfriend is doing better. Good luck with the prospecting! Put out the videos when it's good for you. I'll watch them whenever you're done with them.
what you mean grow up?, I'm not doing this to make others happy doing videos make me happy and when I can help others its a bonus.but i get what you saying
People don’t realize that doing this the fast way winds up putting some of the gold in solution. To recover that you can put steel in the solution but I use aluminum. It’s fast but it does get hot and may boil over.
I know you did this 3 years ago but what part of a piece of wood burns last? The middle for the most part. The same principle applies to chips. If it don't break up it's the center of the chip . Where is the gold in an IC chip? It must be total ash or you WILL loose gold. . AR or not, your not getting that gold out. You have 3 options, grind it to powder by hand, wet ash with concentrated sulfuric or burn it again. I currently have about 15 lbs of them. Built a custom rotisserie kiln to tumble the chips as they burn. Steel pan in the bottom to catch the ash. Yet after extensive testing, I'm wet ashing the entire 15 lbs. Nothing will get the gold out like wet ash. I did, hold your breath, 7 gold corner BGA chips, wet ash. Gold recovered from the 7 chips .41 grams. Other methods not even close. Pitiful, .2, .15, .25
