Haven't we beaten this to death yet? Is there definitive video of a "Jaws" like moment? No. It's some drunk/stoned kid taking what he thinks is a video of some other drunk/stoned kid acting on a dare from another drunk/stoned kid. What we DO know is (1) these waters were/are known a 'shark infested' AND sharks will follow boats - especially if people are throwing sh*t off them - which was reported to be happening. (2) Worse, the two most common types of sharks in these waters are the worst: Bull and Tiger. Tiger sharks can grow up to 18 feet in length and have been known to bite a person in half. (3) NOBODY is going to jump into the water - then swim AWAY from the boat unless there is something pretty damn terrifying between them and the boat - which is exactly what this poor kid did. He didn't swim away from the boat because he saw a wave...what he saw was a shark. You can see a few kicks as he swims farther AWAY before a mass of gray grabs his legs. Other videos enhanced the sound and - YES, you can hear a blood curdling scream within a second of that gray mass grabs his legs AND you can hear someone else yell 'shark'. Having said that, this is horrific - a not-well-thought-out 'stunt' to make people laugh or impress a girl not worth impressing. I made sure my kids (17 and 18) saw this - not that I don't trust them, but because I could see myself doing something this stupid when I was 17 or 18 and wanted to confirm they are a lot smarter than I was...
Quickly paddling back to shore is what made the shark attack. I know its easier said than done, and I probably would have done the same,but you got to jump in the water and make eye contact with it. GW's are ambush predators. Take note though, if it already bit you, this technique won't work, and its time to fight for your life.....
Why would he do this to himself? Jeez man.. what a dumb mistake..and I don't see how anyone can deny that is a shark that pops up .. he sees it and then swims away from it.. and then it comes up and bites his leg so he yanks his foot up for a second! It's very clear! I don't see how anyone with eyes and a brain says this isn't done by sharks!
right - a wash from a boat that was so f'ing terrifying that he swam AWAY from the boat and AWAY from the life preserver thrown out to him. Get real. He swam AWAY from the boat for a reason, it shouldn't take a rocket scientists to tell you what that was
⚠️I was there⚠️ So basically I was in seaside, fl which is right near theses two locations. Me, my uncle, and my cousin went up to the first sandbar and a shark swam right by us. I was really scared so I went back to shore. My uncle told me that type of shark is very aggressive and would’ve attacked if it saw us. Then later that day I was at my friends beach house and her brother said “ did you know some kid got their arm and leg bit off by a shark at one of the beaches near us”. Then I was a little scared bc my family was still at the beach but I went shopping with my friend. Then my mom texted us and said there had been a second shark attack and the sheriff had cleared the beach. It’s so scary to think that I could’ve been attacked.
A thorough video on this attack. I've watched several specials and documentaries that feature this particular incident, and this was by far the best. Every detail was interesting. I particularly appreciated the straightforward approach of the narrator who avoided sensationalizing the attack. This felt educational rather than entertaining. My deepest sympathy to the victims. I'm so glad they both survived.
Thisis not a good video. The first video that surfaced shows Cameron swimming to the part where he is underneath the safety net. Then it shows Cameron being dragged underwater that was right after you cut the video off.
Sometimes predators at land and sea eat humans. It's annoying when people try to explain it away. Like we look similar to seals when we're on a surfboard. Check out the Red Sea attack if you think otherwise. BS narrative to protect tourism industry.
that makes no sense whatsoever. The kid jumped off a boat into shark infested waters - at NIGHT when it's a good idea to stay OUT of the water - and was taken by a big shark. We know this because he was frantically swimming AWAY from his boat because the shark was between HIM and the boat. If anything MORE kids - who live by the motto 'it won't happen to me' should see this video. If the video SHOWED him being bitten in half - sure - delete it. Make sure it never sees the internet. But that ain't this.

Years ago while i was spearfishing, i was attacked by a mako shark. I still bear the scars on my back. By sheer luck, i managed to shoot it and survive. It was the most terrifying day of my life. I didn't feel any pain, but i remained conscious until i passed out from blood loss.
