A few points to note with these non-charity raffles: Some of the raffles are open for 24 hours only. Surely they'd make more money if it was open for a couple of months like a legit raffle. Any new car is probably not going to break even in one day. Some companies have the same car model raffled over and over again every month but these cars can take a year to arrive into Australia. The 'winners' are nearly always the same age generation and ethnicity as the company staff. I've seen a paper tickets raffle where the guy russels around like he's trying to find something. Then takes close to a minute to take it out. It's like there was something attached to it and he was trying to take it off before showing the ticket. The live draw video is deleted from Facebook every time. I don't think these raffles are legit. At least most of the time.
The whole Internet has been dying since 2009 when the entirety of Geocities was culturally purged with only 1TB out being saved but Twitter being archived in the Library of Congress in the thousands of Terabytes. Since then more and more of the old Internet has been purged and replaced with social media and now AI Slop.
Mrbeast haters are like: (Grrr, Mr Beast is helping people again? I gotts go on social media and post an angry message.) Basically they're just pathetic losers who cant just focus on their own life and for some weird reason, hate a man who is simply giving away his money out of the goodness of his heart. Yes, its that simple, no malicious intent behind it. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?
I really love chinese ppl and traditions but this kind of things are really a serious matter, it's like banning ppl freedom. Like Taiwan was from China and it's like the opposite!
From memory, LCMT had on their website "Join the 500,000 aussies who are already members" Lowest member sub is $20 a month. $20x500,000 = $10m a month = $120m a year. Obviously there would be more members than that, and there would be some in higher tiers. Plus the individuals that purchase just tickets for set prizes. That's a shit ton of money. And I feel these companies were the cause of driving higher prices on limited edition cars ... they could afford to pay $1m for a HDT/Brock/lastVF whatever car, as they knew they'd be able to easily get back the money on ticket sales/subs. The only good thing I see, is if they actually give even a slight amount of money to charities. $10k over three years is honestly $9.7k more than I give. Its a drop in the ocean tho for them which is disappointing.
I don't mind, the trends (or memes) have already ingrained themselves so deep into the psyche of so many people online that real humans have already started to feel like robotic clones of each-other almost a decade ago. And the censorship of *all* mainstream sites that we use, like RU-vid, especially contributed to this problem. Imo, AI isn't a problem, AI is just accelerating the decay of the internet culture that has already started some time ago and we should be thankful for it.
Honestly some of the discourse around people being "sad" about there not being enough human art and is being floodede out by AI. Well i hate to be that guy, but there were many people who tried to make art a career and got passed over by the masses to just flock to disney or some other corporations stuff because it was still pretty good. And since there's only a handful of artists who "made it"...well exposure doesnt pay the bills. Its a sad state of affairs
Its very depressing. The internet isn't a treasure trove of information to further human progress, but rather a place to be an intellectual vegetable and look for things to zone out and click on.
jobs that human should be the one doing should be left for human. AI have their own places, but not on the cultural stuffs that required human to do. Sure AI could support by providing relevant data aka search engine. Some people gotta stop coping that gen AI can replace human.
AI is genuinely useful in certain situations, like video editing. I can have it automatically create masks, track objects, isolate sounds or voices in audio, and so much more. It is a TOOL. It saves time and lets me spend more time making creative decisions. However, letting AI do ALL the work will never be a perfect replacement for human created content, not unless you can make a truly conscious and emotional entity, which at that point I think there are more dire things to worry about... Remember, AI cannot be creative or feel emotions, it can only mimic the creativity of humans whose content it has trained on. Also, EVERY search engine needs to have an easy to use check-box that filters out AI-generated content, especially images.
I see a recent rise in ai generated videos talking about historical things such as WW2. They are full of false information and and sometimes make no sense at all.
Boomer? Why use that specifically? Outside of it being completely inaccurate it's ageist Genzees are the biggest consumers of this strange kind of art. Beyond other AI filling the comment section with badly worded or simple misspelt words, Genzee's like the sense of dream/nightmare/mushroom trip. Get you facts right.
People need to stop worrying about what's real or fake, and just enjoy the ride. Keep in mind that Ai wasn't an issue when Cov was around yet people still accused doctors of malpractice for money. Ai is simply the latest scapegoat for those who want the world to burn.
We should ban the slop bots and scrappers from the internet. Some years ago techbros said NFTs was the future, progress and great for artists, we know how that ended. Now they say the same thing about their crap generative AI. They don't care about art, even less about artists and their rights
I read otherland city of the golden shadows and it predicted this whole dead internet theory so acurate its scary. even the thing with the NPC as a insult is in this book.
