The only way to find the right job is by being organic and authentic. I won’t do anything to impress anyone for the sake of it. I may get the job by such superficial action but it will be a disaster in the long run. I am sorry the title of the video is very disturbing to me.
I personally don’t like over-enthusiastic hiring managers sending me emails about how they loved me. I like authenticity and these days everything is about selling yourself and being a big show-off. I would not want to work with a hiring manger who would send me an enthusiastic email as you mentioned. Too much of bla bla is a red flag. It is just who I am. I like authenticity and as less of a show as possible.
I disagree with all of these videos. They just increase your anxiety. The healthiest way is to interview and move on. There is NO way to tell - absolutely NONE. Nothing guarantees a job unless you get one. The ultimate truth is you never know!
JULY 2024 UPDATE: I just had my Phase 1 Interview at Apple, and they asked all these same questions. Thanks to you, Ben, and the community here, I breezed through the interview. I nailed it-so much so that I got the call that I was headed for the Phase 2 interview when I got back in my car to go home. So thank you, Ben, and y'all in the comments for prepping the hell out of me! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Ben, how do I address the question when I was let go due to retaliation. Coworker was putting together an EEOC claim and I was asked for information for case-I was told I would be protected under whistleblower regulations. Thank you.
Been studying your videos for about a week straight. I just finished my final round interview with the store manager! No one appeared for my group interview so plus for me. I feel really confiedient and was able to have great conversations. I’ll lyk how the results go thanks for these videos it was so much help!
Hey brother stopping by to say your apple interview videos were EXTREMELY accurate. Many of the questions you said they asked, were on there. It was the manager, me, and two other candidates. Heres some questions they asked. 1. what interests you in apple? 2. Describe a time were you almost lost a customer, and were able to get them back 3. Describe a time when you used an experimental approach to get something done? 4. describe a time where you went above and beyond? I used the formats of speech you said the use, and even put them together with the STAR method. I feel confident in getting this job, especially with my background working at best buy. Regardless if I get it or not, you still helped me build my interview confidence and language. Thank you!
Hello Ben, I just wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude for your videos-they were truly a blessing to me. I wanted to share the wonderful news that I got the job! It might be retail, but it’s a dream come true to say I’ll be working for Apple. I didn’t think my interviews went that well, but I remembered your tips. During my phase 2 interview, I faced a question that initially stumped me. However, I chose to be honest with the hiring manager and admitted that I didn’t know how to respond without making something up. Surprisingly, she appreciated my honesty. The question was, “Tell me about a time when you had to make a decision without having all the resources you needed.” Thank you so much for your invaluable assistance, Ben. May God bless you! -Gabby PS. I didn’t have any group interviews. I am from New York.
To me they ask those questions to show you that they don’t want to hire you. There honestly aren’t any right answers. Even if you remain positive they’ll still remain negative. 💯
Yet another important point, you can’t get experience without getting HIRED to get that experience. All of those managers forget that at one point they never had any themselves so they have created this false idea in their heads that they came into this world working. Therefore they judge everybody who doesn’t have any. That’s yet another reason why we should always lie. 💯
Even I am facing the same problem managers are not understanding that somebody have to start from scratch in order to get experience and can you tell me that how did you solved this problem and got the job because currently I am facing this problem
You should talk about why they enjoy selling you a dream. They’ll smile in your face, act extremely enthusiastic, tell you that you’ll be a great fit for their company, even mention orientation, and STILL turn you down. 💯
So sad. I was a ride operator at WDW in 1978-1985. All they asked was "do you like working with the public?" and "Why do you want to work here?" The also checked that you met the grooming standards and would fit the wardrobe range when you were AT your interview. They realized that most kids out of high school don't have "ride operator experience." AND it was ALL done in person at the old casting building behind Magic Kingdom, and you knew at the end of the interview if you got the job. Ah the good old days.
Hi Ben! I am at the round Robin stage for a PjM role at Meta and am definitely full of examples based on my past experiences. I’m wondering though if it’s common for Meta to use case studies/case interviews (a la consulting) or is the critical thinking portion usually quite behavioral?
I was asked if it's something I'm interested in, then they would give me a call within the week with a pay plan. I am supposed to get the call tomorrow or the following day 🙏 🤞
@@BenTalksTalent Or a good ass kisser? I’m just joking of course. It’s just that nepotism is probably one of, if not the top thing that I hate most about business. It exists everywhere and you can’t escape from it. It’s just human nature. Humans are tribal and like to be with others in the same tribe whether that be similarities with favorite sports teams, what school they attended, similar hobbies, etc. Irrelevant nonsense like that can really be a deciding factor in the hiring process. It’s not how the world should work, but of course how it actually does work. Hypothetically if only one variable between two candidates is that one candidate attended the same school as the hiring manager and therefore is a fan of the same school for sports, who do you think is going to be chosen?
ben !! just had my third interview today with the hiring manager following the initial interview and group interview and they all have been absolutely amazing thanks to your videos, i felt SO prepared to the point it felt like i was just conversing with a friend. i never comment under youtube videos (ever) but i just needed to thank you endlessly for your help. i'll update you when they get back to me, but im feeling very hopeful ! <3
I have an interview in 2 days, in one of the busiest stores in the big apple. I'm studying all your videos and prepping with 2 friends that work for Apple. Hopefully I get this seasonal role!
Good luck! I have my interview in 2 days as well and i'm studying this video like the bible lol. Did you attend the get to know apple seminar last week?
I disagree with reaching out to them after the interview because that just demonstrates major desperation. If you feel like you have to do that then you didn’t get the job. Move on to the next job after you walk out those doors. On average, it should never take them more than 2 days to get back to you. 💯
I disagree on both parts. I don’t think reaching out is negative if done correctly and often it takes longer than two days, that’s just hiring for you. It would be better if it was quicker, but it’s just not how it always is.
In this situation, honesty is not always the best policy. Even if you got fired, never tell them that either. You should never give them any reason to disqualify you. Yeah people get fired every single day but that’s too much information. Remain as positive as possible no matter how irritating they become. 💯
The majority of managers always enjoy hitting you with trick questions such as “what did you dislike about your last job” or “why’d you leave your last job”. 💯
If I know the members of the team and the hiring manager that are going to interview me, is adding as a connection on LinkedIn before the interview a good idea? Or should I wait till after? Or simply not add and just view their public profile?
Gen Z's rejection of ineffective or outdated policies is deeply rooted in their desire for meaningful change and adaptation to the contemporary challenges they face. They do not want use rules that did not worked last 30 years. They want change to make sure it works.
Thanks Ben, I had an interview for my dreamed job, the first interview went so great… at least this I what I thought until the recruiter brought up the salary question, then I felt grudged, I knew exactly at that point that I was marked out I knew that if I was a fit the recruiter would have found another outcome … …”show must go on …”
Hey Ben! Hope all is well. I actually just now had my second phase interview and it was in a store in Los Angeles and I though it was going to be a one on one as you mentioned but it was actually another group interview. It was a different people leader I think and they asked similar questions to the phase 1. But some questions that weren’t mentioned here was… 1. Tell me about a time when you had to make a decision with insufficient information. 2. Give me a time when you had a can do moment. The second question was phrased differently but from what I remember it’s what did you do that made you go like oh I can do it type of attitude. Other than that Ben thank you for all your advice. I got through the first phase and I think I did well in this phase as well with the prep that you gave.
I went to a daycare for an interview and one girl brought her job coach. The coach asked if she could sit in on the interview and the hiring manager said “no”. I don’t know why the girl even bothered with a coach given how young she was and she couldn’t even work the hours needed by the daycare.
My company did that. First no mondays and Fridays and now you must be in the office 5 days a week. There were people abusing the WFH as they would go MIA whenever they worked from home.
My mom recently got hired at Disneyland and recommended I watch this and another of your videos before my own interview next Tuesday, I hope this helps me land my dream job!!
Um I had a supervisor show up to my interview with another of the employees. Does that mean I'm being considered? He asked me if not the position I have would I be interested in another in their company.
i’ve been using your videos to prep for my interviews and they’ve been amazing help. i had a telephone interview and told me immediately after that i passed and i will be moving into the next stage, and i had a group interview around 2 weeks later. the day after the group interview i got a phone call and was offered the job!! i start in 3 weeks. thanks so much for the help it truly means a lot :) God bless you!
@BenTalkTalent As part of ongoing interview process, tye recruiter has taken my CTC which he said is a mandatory input. And, expected number. Now, How do I regain my negotiation power for the salary negotiation round. Please advise 🙏
