The information that strikes me the most odd is that the translation of "Which book do you want?" will be "Qué libro quieres?" not "Cuál ..." I would have had that wrong. Gracias.por eso.
I learned it like this: for "cual" which means"which" just think of a bunch of ducks. One of then quacks (quack sounds like cual) think WHICH one is quacking? Quack=cual=which easy word association

I was told that "estar" is temporary and "ser" is permanent, but then I learned that to say "he's dead" you say "El Está muerto". But isn't death permanent? 🤪 I always say "ser" is what a person or thing is, and "estar" is how it is. But I can see the wisdom in what you're saying here. Gracias.
Simple: de que, de might come from something like “después de” ex: after what? ¿Después de que? 2. Ex: What material is the chair? Not using de que here because we don’t know “what material” is being referred to even though “is the chair” is there. De que could be used if it said “is the chair MADE OF.” That made of give us clues that it refers to the chair. That’s when you add DE.
