Hello! My name is Bethanie and I created this channel to help others suffering from kidney failure.
No one I knew was suffering from CKD, FSGS or ESRD and I felt very alone. When I went to RU-vid looking for videos about day-to-day living with kidney failure I found advertisements for Hemodialysis Center.
My hope in creating this channel is two-fold: First, to help others who are suffering from a chronic illness to not feel alone and second, to bring awareness that Peritoneal Dialysis might be a better option then the more known/advertised Hemodialysis.
Update!!! In 2023 I was able to receive a Kidney. I will continue to talk about dialysis , CKD and how to prepare for a Kidney Transplant.
My father passed away after 5 years of dialysis. We tried everything to get him out of dialysis. I hope you all never get this problem. God bless you all.
Aww Thankyou very much!🎉….. I’ve just been diagnosed withCKD. NO 3. And filters degeneration.. docs said no need to do any type diet change. Said just do what you want!😢😮 and have a team to help. No don’t need said docs. Just carry on as usual!!!😮 ? 😢😢😢 Liars. Baaad people nowadays. 😊
i really don't know if there's any vaccine 💉 available for now but early last year I tested positive for he*pes it was really a bad experience for me but through the help of #DrAdigba I got cured and free from my genital herpes……………….
Thank you, I’m facing that surgery sooner than later, my gfr was down to 11, but, it shot back up to 14. So, your video was very informative and helpful!
My blood pressure is 120/70, thereabouts but it was like 135/80 for a few years. My efgr got lower. If my blood pressure is good now... why would it go down?
When I was diagnosed type 2 5 yrs ago, was surprised my dietician said eat as much eggs, bacon and red meat I wanted. For years we heard these foods were bad. Avoiding carbs (esp sugar products) eating right, snacking on nuts, losing 10 lbs, and daily exercise dropped my A1c from 12 to 5.6 in 3 months with NO insulin.
Where are you. What happened on your kidney journey? I got an infection and am doing hemodialysis at the clinic. So much better. Feeling better and no longer night after night 72 hours a week dialysis. Just go 6am-11am. People do quit and die. I wonder how long I have. Just try to enjoy each day!😀
American medicine is a disaster. How can you take care of someone, if you see them less than an hour a year. Add in student debt and worn out practitioners-I fear it’s only getting worse. I would add to your video-a disclaimer about alcohol. Not only does it throw blood work way out-it can show up a kidney damage or also-you think you are drinking too much-aka feel tired, dehydrated, morning nausea, edema, broken veins and dry skin, blood pressure. It could mask kidney issues. It could also mimic them. And you cannot have alcohol with kidney (or liver) disease.
Thank you for video! When kidneys do not work, the hemoglobin goes down. Do you reveive any shots while on PD to improve hemoglobin? If you do, who gives you the shots ?
How to prevent kidney disease. Maintain a balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables while limiting salt and processed foods. Stay adequately hydrated, avoid excessive over-the-counter painkillers, and monitor blood pressure and blood sugar levels. Regular exercise and avoiding smoking further contribute to healthy kidney function.
Thankyou lady , i have been on dialysis for 18 months . It's not too bad and nurses are very kind . It is better than death ! A new way of life , think positive !
Never had kidney problems but my ankles were always swollen, doc says I have big ankles. Ok let that slide for about two years. Got a new doctor who ordered complete tests and yearly physical found that my kidney are losing slight function. Have symptoms of itching, urine doesn't seem to flow as usual, foamy, smelly but not much color, loss of appetite, 3 months later assesment was 3 rd stage chronic kidney disease how is that possible???
My dear uncle died after a few miserable years on dialysis waiting for a transplant. It was heart breaking to see what he went through. He felt awful after dialysis and couldn't live without it. He said the machine took too many minerals and didn't compare to having a natural kidney. Glad to learn how to take care of our kidneys now. Thank you doctor. Happy to support your wonderful work.

Thanks for making these videos. My husband will be starting at home dialysis. He is currently using an emergency chest port and going to a clinic three times a week. Your videos helped us see what to expect.
I am so grateful for your channel. Thank you so much for making these videos. You present so so well. I deeply admire how you teach in such a well organised, succinct and engaging way. You are truly gifted! You are helping patients and caregivers tremendously and again, thank you. God bless you !
I was in a&e on Monday bc of KS pain , I’ve had two unmedicated labours and I can tell you this pain is 1000% worse than labour pain. Appreciate this video
