Hi Aaron - Great tips on testing the sensors first - We just happened to have a non-direct lightning strike in our front yard which took out some electronics (i.e. the GFCI outlet for the door opener). Door now exhibiting bad sensor symptoms and codes - Both sensors have no lights - Will check replacements ahead of time and if not the problem (can return them) may be time for a control board - Anyway thanks for the tips !!
@@aaronfixesstuff I probably would not have bought it had I watched your video first but it's very similar to what you have done. I'm just wondering if it will hold up over time.
wow, the whole house was done in conduit? unless therye emergency circuits, even commercial buildings arent typically all done in conduit. But as an electrician myself, I never recommend using the conduit as a ground. While it is allowed for Code purposes, its only allowed if every single connection in that conduit run back to the panel is tight, and if you didnt do the run yourself, you have no basis to trust whoever ran the conduit did it right. and if the conduit run ever disconnects from a connector or coupling, you lose your ground. Youre better off pushing an individual ground wire through the conduit and grounding it in the ground bar in the panel. much more secure connection
No detailed instructions for this lock that I can find. You have to discover how to use the detailed features by searching the internet for help and I have not found it yet. I want a user guide to operate each feature. Disappointed.
Thank you for the simple and great fix! I am going to try this out! Really appreciate coming up with this. Did you think watering down the premix would help or be okay?
On another property I did this fix on I watered it down a bit and it was definitely easier to squeeze in. Just keep in mind that the more you wet it, the longer the drying time. So don’t step on it before it’s totally dry.
Thank you for the helpful video. Quick question: Is there a way to screw this up such that it would make things more difficult for subflooring experts to fix? Trying to avoid needing to get their help with solutions like this, but want to make sure there's little risk for somebody who isn't generally very handy.
OMG I want to cry. I was collecting quotes for fixing my garbage disposal and then came across your video. thank you for saving me money and teaching me something I can use the rest of my life <3
I absolutely LOVE comments like these! That’s is the EXACT purpose of my channel and love that I was able to help you out! Feel free to subscribe to my channel for more videos, it also helps me out :)
awesome. Question. My wiring to the sensors have a red along with the white and black wires. Will a universal sensor with just the blk/wh wiring work? Thanks.
@@aaronfixesstuff I’ll try your tip tonight to wire the sensors directly into the opener. Thanks! If it does turn out to be the wiring and not the sensors do you know what type/where I can find the proper wire?
Back in the 60s my brothers made weights of concrete and gallon size margarine cans. We’re from the Caribbean and free weights weren’t available except from the back advertisements of comic books that featured Weider bodybuilding products and Mr. Atlas. Our families could not afford to have things like that shipped from America so most of the boys made their own. Funny you should “discover” this decades later! 😀
I enjoyed reading your comment! It’s interesting how we take things for granted, whereas many other people could only wish for what we have. Thank you for sharing that! 🩵
Just happened to me today. All remote buttons stopped working and only the hardwired button worked. Your products listed on Amazon are unavailable. Searching for an alternative solution. Great video.
What a bummer that that happened to you. Sorry to hear that they aren’t available on Amazon!! If you find something let me know and I’ll update the video to help other people out!!
Thanks for the vid. Same thing is happening to me. If there is a short in the antenna wire could you just fix the hanging wire? And also how would something untouched get a short? Just wondering thanks for any help
I am not sure about replacing the antenna honestly! Any circuit board can get a short, it seems like in our case it was the antenna that burned out. Glad I was able to help!!
Most people appreciate a video that costs them nothing. Then there are some people like you who just try and find a reason to “make the whole thing a farse”. You are welcome to post a better video, or to hire someone to do it for you…
I love this video! It’s exactly what I needed. ❤ Can you give me an estimate on how much rope you used on each or total? I know it’s gonna take quite a bit.
