Rob and Jonas from Untamed Science here. We now run 52Things with the help of our families. We wanted to thank all of you who are here. It's all possible because of your support both by coming here to watch our videos, and for those of you who support our work directly via Patreon. Link to that here: www.patreon.com/52things
We do this because we want to empower everyone to use videos, pictures and social to make great stories. Our background is as scientists, so we're always thinking about how we can do this for scientists. However, the tools are exactly the same if you're doing it in business or as an artist. Watch these videos every week and learn a new skill. Also, stay tuned for the occasional random science doc from us.
I felt at home there. I was only there briefly before returning to sell my home to move there. But I was already seeing results in my body comp can’t wait to live there.
Thanks much for the answer. What about your Yaw, pitch and Gimbal settings inside DJI software? Do you use out of box settings or do you customize? I find my drone strays of of my chosen track even in Cine Mode. Do you use the automation ever? I want to work in TV and Film which requires a 23.98 frame rate but I find it is terrible for slowing down footage so I have been working with 60/30 and 120/60. For my non cinema TV projects I have ben working in 29.97/30 fps with a +60 shutter and a 64 ND on bright days as it gives me greater attitude alter the speed of my shots. What frame rate and shutter speeds do you use? I have the AIR 2S. Despite what Adobe, Avid of FCP say DJI drone footage of different fame rates cannot coexist on the same timeline without a ton of alchemy and jitter. I do ultimately have to work in 23.98 but I am not sure how to get there with good results. I love your shots, quite masterful.
In your shots through the trees what do you set your focus on? Automatic? Infinity? I find I get some really bad results on auto focus when flying through situations where I have objects in the fore mid and background which are changing. Thanks.
If you want to go still higher, attach your payload, parachute, and your balloon all together onto a strong plastic ring, (like a hula hoop) then partially inflate a second balloon and connect that to the ring, also. When the "main" balloon bursts, the second balloon will then continue to lift your payload MUCH higher, until the second balloon bursts. Make sure there's enough lead-line on the first balloon, so when it falls, it will hang below your payload and any cameras, out of the way.
Bro I randomly remembered watching this video in 5th grade and I couldn't remember if I just made this memory up or not and I'm so happy this video is actually real. It's been like 10 years 💀 I specifically vividly remembered the nucleus guy for some reason
This is fantastic! I am 72 years old and am finally realizing how to make one of my passions realized. I have been drawing cartoons for 50 years, just for personal gratification, and now I can revive them and bring them to life. You explain things in such a clear and simple way that make the projects not so daunting. I'm proud of your kids for sharing that interest and keeping their minds alive with true creativity.
Thanks for showing us this. I'm starting to do timelapse of the Sun's surface using Autostakkert, Imppg, PixInsight, PIPP and PhotoDirector. One of the many hurdles has to do with flicker and shaking which I normalized in Pixinsight and stabilised in PIPP. But I think I may use your workflow and start also intergrading some zooming in movement effect. Very "to the point" video, I enjoyed it.
Why is there never a picture of the moon when weather balloons are sent into the atmosphere. You only ever see the sun. Why? It can't be a coincidence that only the sun is visible and never the moon in weather balloon shots. And I'm talking about the full moon here. Although the moon is said to be much closer. Please research and share. Now there are some who claim that the moon is visible on some videos. But only as small as a mini star. You can even see the full moon larger from Earth.
So if I throw a candy wrapper out the window of my car I'll get a $500 fine for littering, but weather balloon operators can Chuck massive amounts of debris all over the planet without any repercussion. Nice.
I got Magic Lantern working on my 50D, however I can only film very short clips of RAW video, just over 10 seconds. Do you know is this a limitation built into the camera itself or Magic Lantern, or do I just need a very fast CF card in order to get longer clips?
