• I Bought A Mercedes S5...
…..I recently picked up a 2004 S55 AMG. I got it delivered from out of town, knowing that it would not start. It was started every few months, while in storage. Until one day, it wouldn’t start. The previous owner was told it either needs a key or a new EIS (electronic ignition switch) Well….after a few weeks of diagnosing……I figured it out!!!!

Just saved me from being stranded. My cigg fuse was out so I replaced it but it blew my ignition fuse when I did not sure why.

Mercedes saved us a lot of trouble by separating the system control modules/ Signal Acquisition Modules from the communications system. You have got to sponsor a car show this Summer. That would be super cool. You ever start up an m113 that sat for 3 years or more?

I’m experiencing the same issue, even after replacing fp, relays, crank and cam sensors. Choked the maf and it’ll actually start and stay idled. Next attempt is getting the evap situated, will start with purge valve i believe is what it’s called behind driver side headlight

That 7.5 fuse. What was the description in the fuse box map? Alarm system?

Regarding the alarm unit. Does removing it entirely cause the blinking issue? Basically for me (sometimes) when I lock the doors the car lights will blink. Hoping if I just remove it entirely that problem will be gone

I’m still trying to figure that one out. It still sometimes blinks after I lock with remote. It did that before I removed it and afterwards.

I sold my 2002 cl600 to a friend about 4years ago,he did a complete straight pipe,the starts and runs for a while and then stalls,then you turn the key and you get nothing,then you have to wait a few minutes and then it starts and stalls agin.any ideas?

I was attempting to start changing my coil overs on my cl500 and since it was low I had a block tapered to where I can drive it on to get clearance to jack the front end up, as I was driving it on the car cut off within a few seconds I seen smoke on the passenger side fender area, it wouldn’t turn the key and I replaced the eis fuse 3 times it turns the key but the fuse over and over pops so obviously I have a short, and it still produces smoke so I have a bad short has never done this before, do you know where I should start looking for the short it’s not coming from the fuse box area in the passenger side, it seems like i may have to remove the front left fender to gain access or move the wheel well cover but I can’t even jack it up since I can’t drive it on the block, do you know what maybe causing this any feedback would be a blessing 🙏

@@kashiomodashio6455 Do you have the factory jack? If so….use it to raise the car by the factory side jack points covered by the square covers. Then go from there. Get access to the alarm horn and unplug it.

@@goldelementautoworks I actually used the the factory jack out of my w140 and it worked lol, and as far as the the factory horn do you think that could be why my eis fuse keeps blowing?

@@kashiomodashio6455 That’s the number one cause. The internal battery shorts out and keeps the fuse blowing. Unplug that horn and see what happens.

@@goldelementautoworks thanks it got late I did disconnect the alarm horn siren, I need to buy some fuses tommorow and give it a try so fingers crossed 🤞 thanks for the intel I’ll let you know if it works thanks so much thanks 🙏

Thanks so much 🙏 that alarm siren was shorted out causing it to smoke by the passenger front fender, I thought I was screwed lol! I removed it and the wire to the alarm siren was completely shorted it was fried, so I taped it up and put a bud connector and threw a fuse and vola! She stated right up, I replaced the front coil overs so far, I’m going to tackle the rear here soon, it’s weird tho my power steering feels normal, I haven’t converted it over to the normal power steering pump as I still have the tandem pump on, is that normal?
