I think it’s Alexander’s good karma at work; his intentions are clear and good and things just keep popping up for him through goodwill and excellent word of mouth. It makes me so happy to see this circle of positive reinforcement!
I want to give ‘props’ to this collector on his creative reuse of boxes for storage. He used cereal, candy, plastic wrap, and shoe boxes. I think he even used cardboard toilet paper rolls for some of those special cars. This man was organized! I always enjoy these unboxings. Alexander really knows his stuff!
Looking thru the garage a 2nd time was smart. One thing I learned from thrifting, a 2nd walk around can pay off. I often wondered how I missed some great finds during the initial walkthrough.
Alex, I don't have any interest in cars or toys, but your knowledge and excitement, keeps me in, and I am learning. It's an adventure. Kudos to you. ☃️
I love it! No sooner than you sacrificed your Hot Wheels collection- a whole new set pops up! Love the Banjo too. Hope you keep it and play it 👍. You got some great stuff there. 🥳
Brings back such wonderful memories of my grandpa. He had a 1/4 of his basement set up as a train display ( 2 pool tables + more covered in plywood) It was a whole cityscape. O Guage. It was magical. Unfortunately after he passed most of it was destroyed. ( long story) Thanks for sharing
WOW, I really miss my friends and family in Wpg, MB, but I don't miss those -30+ days! Glad you were able to heat up your garage to work in. Having the extra large garage un your new home will be such a blessing for your family.
Without doubt the best estate collection of toys I've seen in my lifetime. Model trains, cars and the best of the lot, those mint Meccano sets. My eyes practically popped out while watching the treasures you unearthed in this and part 2. If I came across such a delightful array of goodies, I'd either think I was dreaming, or would be falling over my feet running to the nearest computer to hit my bank account to buy the entire contents. Good luck to you all from Australia's Blue Mountains.
Love your program, love you honesty and just so much to see wow all that goodies you just hit the jackpots. Bless you and the whole of the families. Xx🥰👍🙇🏻♀️🎄🦃
Toys! Love your appreciation for yesterday's toys. When you have such genuine fun, your job isn't Work . . . Love your example of living a life worth living. Alexander you're great . . .
I did the conversion for -56°C and it came out -68.8°F. It is so weird how that came out. I live N MS, USA. it's 79°F today. I don't C how Y'all do that. B safe & try & stay warm‼️
@@zyllofmitain Absolutely. I always think of the clouds as a cozy blanket that keeps the heat in. When it's super cold with a cloudless bright blue sky, plus sunshine, you can be fooled into thinking it's warming up. Nope, it's still COLD!
I never played with trucks and cars, but it sure is fun to watch you go through boxes of such. The old train is a gem. Thank you for video #1. I look forward to #2. 😊😊😊
I'm a big American Flyer guy. That 293 loco is a bit more scarce than the other few. I have a small setup of my own, and that guy had quite a collection!
Alex, come on you are the super kid in a toy store; and you just hit another mother load of cars. trains and planes. Good thing you are building a bigger house! I was amazed how the previous owner found just the right size box for each little toy to store and pack away; until one day, Alexander came to the rescue. Well you work hard, so it's nice to see and hear how happy you become finding some toys of even your childhood. Good luck with it all, and I know you will be adding $$ to your new home. Stay warm and happy New Year to you and the family.
Those homemade wooden boxes for the train engines at about the nine minute mark will be perfect for display, the dark engines against the light wood colour, stacked two or three high on the shelves. Nice find, well taken care of collection. Thanks for sharing your find with us, looking forward to part two. I look forward to the setup you create in your new garage to unload and sort through your 'pickings'.
When you found the Mintex Brake Linings clock memories of my Dad came flooding back. He worked for BBA in Cleckheaton, Yorkshire in the 60s and 70s where these were made....sadly as we now know, out of Asbestos!!
Being from Connecticut in the U.S., I had to Google what your -40 C. translated to Fahrenheit. OMG! I think I would be in my house and never leave! God bless you and your family for finding and saving the treasures that bring such memories.
It was just a pleasure to see the guy's organized work shop. He cared enough to put everything in a box. His parents taught him the value of keeping things nice, clean and tidy.
This was so much fun! I love train sets and Matchbox cars. I am amazed that people can refurbish those cars and that they still make parts for them. I never knew that. The wooden boxes that some of the trains are in are pretty special.
My son got vintage train when he was 18 months old, my late husband found it in a garage while he was there for work. Its something he'll keep forever. We had no idea at that time what a unique find it was.Theres a wonderful train shop in L.A.(looks like Union Station) had fixed so steam worked when train was running and switch of some kind found that train collectors are vast and very serious about their hobby. I was really looking forward to some thing other then toys, love antiques missing seeing all those treasures that are getting harder to find. I love seeing early antiques that are still around in today's modern times where not much will last twenty yrs. much less a hundred years or even fifty years.
Our children museum in (central) Indiana has a massive enclosed train station set up town that runs and whoever did the work was extremely detail oriented!
You always amaze me with your knowledge of the things you find. You sure have a eye for the best. I know how cold it is when snow crunches under your feet.
Wow! That place was a real treasure trove . Great finds. As a kid I always wanted a meccano set like the boys but never got one. They looked lie so much fun. Keep Safe❤Keep Well ❤
You know those are probably banjolelis. At sme point I'm coming for your instruments. Great work Alex and family. Way to be Canadian. We love you all and I'm looking forward to more of you in my future.
Another cool video Alexander! I would love to see a video of you restoring that car that has the button on top!! Have fun with your new collection and I hope you get to keep some for yourself!
Good grief! I almost had a heart attack! What a great find and a great deal. Score, score score! I would have bought everything. what I couldn’t sell I would be playing with. Although since I am not building a home for a relatively young family I could afford to play.
The whole time you dug through all that cool stuff, I kept thinking about the little old Disney books with Donald and Goofy! 😆 I bet they'd be a hoot to read!
Your goodwill and good faith dealings will always help you make useful connections that will help people deal with their hoards, find unique treasures and make you a decent profit to support your family. I wish all business people operated on the same principles.
Whoohooo! Man that basement made me green with envy! All those shelves, all that stuff all organized and packaged against dust and dirt and loss. I hope you pay for your garage with it.
I love seeing all the boxes he used to store items. Definitely a man who lived through the Great Depression. My grandfather stored everything the exact same way.
The model rocket and train store in the nineties in Skokie Illinois had TONS of that American Flyer track, never knew what it was called. Cool stuff Alex!
When we were kids we had a race track with those cars that went around and sparks would come out sometimes from the wires on the bottom of the cars. It was just my sister and I no brother so I think our Dad bought it for himself but we had fun with it too. 😊
I'm glad you see the value in this stuff and somehow make it a win-win for you and the seller. I would look at it and think it's just a pile of junk, LOL!!
