2 year carnivore here. I’ve lost over 500 lbs (yes, not a typo!). I was trapped inside my own obesity. I failed many diets. I failed lap band surgery. Carnivore works! Being 800lbs was restrictive. Eating strict carnivore has freed me from thinking about food 24/7, I now have an off switch. Eating carbs awakens those cravings for me. So for me, it's best to abstain. I understand and accept that. It works for me and I am loving and living my life again. I will never go back! Thanks for all you do Dr Chaffee!

Wow! Congratulations! This makes me wonder if the over 600lb people on that reality show should be put on Carnivore instead of a seemingly difficult 1,200 calorie, low carb diet. I imagine it must be so difficult to go from eating 4,000 or more calories a day down to 1,200 and sticking with it.

So proud of you. Memories of my 500 lb grandmother sent me on a road of yo yo dieting my whole life. She died at 52. I am mostly carnivore now and do pretty well except for the diet soda. I get angry at myself but working on it! Love both of these doctors!

The closer I moved towards Carnivore.. the better I felt. I do however consume Avacads, dairy-heavy cream to keep the fat to protein ration in check.

What Dr. Rob said about babies eating, I can testify to the truth, back in 1985, when I had my child at a military Air Force base, they told me to feed her 4oz of breast milk or formula a day and that’s it. So me, as an inexperienced mother and didn’t grow up around anyone having children, I listened to them and in no time at all, after we got home, the child started having problems, crying all the time and gnawing the back of her fists!!! 😱 Fortunately, we were living with her grandmother at the time, who diagnosed her, having raised 4 children and said this child is HUNGRY!!! 😳 I told her what the doctor said and she said they are wrong, FEED HER TILL SHE’S FULL! That’s what I did. She stopped gnawing the back of her fists and crying all the time and was the happiest baby around! 🙌 🕊️ 🙌 Their excuse for doing this, was to keep them from becoming obese adults!!! 🤨 Killing them as babies, with this method, would definitely work, as they would never see adulthood!!! 😫 Thankful I had help and they didn’t get to kill my baby with their LIE! 🙏 ✝️ 🙏

Exact same thing happened in 2021 in Geneva, Switzerland… yeah. My sister gave birth to her first born son and he had a big appetite. The doctors and whoever it was DEMONS told her to feed him with a little bottle of milk. My nephew was constantly crying and under stress because he wanted more milk!! It was excruciating painful to listen to him cry of hunger while my sister was oblivious to the sound advice of our mother!! Our mother was devasted she couldn’t believe that my sister wouldn’t listen to us and instead fully obeyed to the doctors… Til this day me and mom suffer when we recall those moments… it was sooooo clear the kid was hungry! My mom had to sneak in additional portions of formula when my sister and her stubborn husband were not around and 100% of the time my nephew would drink until he was full and he would feel calm and super relaxed and would fall asleep deeply immediately after being satiated. Me and mom all we did was exchange looks and nod our heads. …

Just my story and experience to caution with excessive veggies for some people. I did the keto diet for 7 years, ate 7-10 cups veggies a day, high fat, medium protein. I developed gut issues, dysbiotic flora, gut yeast, and joint pain (oxalate build up). No doctor or naturopath told me to reduce my veggies! One doctor wanted to inject my finger with steroids after telling me nothing showed up on the xray! I am about 2 months in on meat, butter, eggs, cream. My joint pain is gone, I am feeling super strong these days, my hair is not falling out, and my sleep patterns according to my smart watch are in the excellent zone. Going from keto, to ketovore, to carnivore definitely helped in the way of "giving" thinks up. I am still a coffee drinker and will have a glass of organic wine, but my labs are very optimal, ast, alt under 20. Insulin is 3.6, CRP is less than 1. I suppose I will try a veggie here or there some day, but I am always too full from beef, eggs, and butter to have any room for them! 😁

I started carnivore a year ago, lost 26 lbs.in the first five months. All kinds of benefits, mental clarity, elimination of back pain and knee pain, eczema disappeared. Lost a total of 17 inches. Went off the rails at christmas and into Feb. Went back to eating awful. Back pain and knee pain came back with a vengeance. gained back 6 pounds, gain back some inches and just felt like crap. 3 days ago I went back on carnivore and the knee and back pain has gone and I feel so much better. I get your frustration. Eating healthy carbs can make a very positive difference, especially if you’ve been eating all the highly processed foods that combine sugar, fat, and seed oils. But do you ever consider that even the healthy carbs are addictive? For example: fruit. I’m never tempted to overeat meat, fish, or eggs. But once I start eating fruit, I can’t stop until it’s gone.

Unfortunately it wasn't much of a discussion it was a lecture by Cywes...and for what? What was his point at the end of all this
@t1mpani
@t1mpani 5 месяцев назад
His point was: be very careful about assuming that you have things “figured out.” Keep monitoring health, keep monitoring blood work, don’t assume that because everything is fine now, it’ll still be fine in a year or three or eight. Up until this point, there has been a lot of greed, ideology and hubris that has poisoned most of dietary research. He was advocating (even though he believes in carnivore) NOT being like the plant based people, who are in many cases almost cult-like. I happen to be one of those people whose blood sugar raises (and stays high) when I’m really high in protein consumption, but I do better when I eat lots of fat. Many of the influencers in the carnivore space are becoming every bit as puritanical as the plant based folks, and Dr. Cywes always advocates against that.

@@t1mpaniI think Dr. Cywes may be projecting here. He presents his ideas dogmatically. For example, he made a clickbait video claiming ectopic fat in the abdomen isn't a problem. This contradicts established medical knowledge and he offers no empirical evidence to support his claim. He tends to repeat unsubstantiated hypotheses as fact. Additionally, his 'apology' video about Omega-3 dosage was concerning. He advocated for an extremely high intake without evidence, a level that would be unsustainable for most human cultures away from coastal areas. These are two concerning videos that I encountered while watching his entire back catalog. After that, I decided to unsubscribe from the channel.

8 weeks carniversary just passed, loving it! Cured depression, food freedom is amazing and feels so easy on my stomach, delicious, satiating, and now caring for a woman with diabetes, chronic autoimmune and mental healh issues and the team and her have agreed for her to go on keto which is one giant step in a very good direction for her health. Btw she has expressed interest in carnivore diet if she knew there was someone who has diabetes, lupus and schizophrenia who have had all 3 greatly improved or in remission through carnivore diet. She can't face giving up other foods at this point but the possibility of serious relief from her health issues could motivate her to try she has said

I’ve started “carnivore” over & over again about 10 times in 4 years. This past year, my fasting glucose started to stay in the 90’s ALL day. So now the bad habits are starting to catch up. Before it was just attempts to overcome carb addiction but Blood glucose levels were ALWAYS in the 70’s. It’s show time for me now, so DAILY I listen to Cywes, Ken Berry, Ben Bickmen, and Sten Eckburg. To keep the momentum going. And also wearing a CGM. But it’s frustrating because it’s misreads a LOT & I’m still needing to stick my finger 😑

Dr. Chaffee is really humble, intelligent, patient, and such a pleasure to listen to! He is always so clear and articulates frequently that his plan is for him and works for him. He shares wonderfully, scientifically, and in laymen's terms. He is destined to change lives for generations. His words have triggered my husband and I to do a 30-day Carnivore challenge. We are on day 4 and actually feel very satisfied! I am a data collector, so I track the protein/fat carbs for us; and my hubbie just eats what I give him with a happy face. He weighttrains and is a martial artist and works full-time as a mechanic and a part-time college instructor. He burns at least 3000 cals per day and I cannot get him to eat enough. I just keep listening and learn new ideas from Dr. Chaffee. BTW, your time spent with Maggie!!! I totally loved that. Thank you for all your time and sharing.

I have had that same struggle my whole life. Keto (for 7 years) helped a LOT but I still would slip on occasion. It wasn’t until I completely gave up all plants, including stevia, monkfruit and allulose, that I could completely stop the cravings. When stress or emotions are extremely high I may still have a twinge of craving but a meal of beef and eggs will quell it always. The freedom I have as a carnivore is worth far more than any satisfaction I ever had from a special food. I’m right at 12 months of pure carnivore and feeling better than I’ve felt in decades. Still have not completely reached my ideal weight and still battling chronic Lyme disease and autoimmune issues so I’m introducing some fasting now. But even if this is “as good as it gets” for me I’m so much better than I have been in years!!

During the Christmas period I made a mistake with cheese and still struggle with it. Every day I try to keep the weight off and have gained 6 lbs. It's so hard even though I have a health problem that doesn't allow me to eat any carbs, not even eggs. My partner is not a carnivore and eats cheese on bread every day, so not bringing it into the house is not an option. Type 2l muscle fibers are purely glycolytic. In my experience, muscle glycogen never truly returns to high carb diet status, particularly in the upper body on ketogenic diets. No matter how long you're adapted. Keto is great for dieting, weight maintenance, & moderate intensity, high volume work like a lot of walking, but will tank high intensity performance and definitely isn't optimal for muscle gain. I have been on and off "carnivore" for 15 years since it was called "zero carb". The best option IMO is a super-high carb, super low fat, moderate protein day at the frequency you need. Then go straight back into low carb and you'll be back in ketosis in 24-48 hours after burning hepatic glyocgen off, but with full muscle glycogen status for a while which won't be burned until you need it. PS don't fall into dogma here not everyone is well suited biologically to keto diets. @@silverback7348

I agree, I don't think it's orthorexia to recognize what harms you and what doesn't, and I don't think that's what he was talking about. But you can do it in a bit of an unhealthy way, which is what he was talking about. But I totally agree, if you eat certain things and it makes you feel worse, and you don't need them, and they don't benefit you, then obviously it's a pretty normal decision not to eat them again.

I eat a lot of meat, started body building 6 months ago, at 69, have to get the protein in. I am also a veggie gardener in my back yard. Veggies require a lot of rules. Rule 1; plant in a diverse way spreading the veggie over a larger area. Rule 2; harvest the veggies in a wind wise way. Rule 3; give the veggies a good recovery time after harvesting. Rule4; eat fruit only in season in my area. On top of this I eat only between 11:00 and 18:00. Peel thin skinned fruit that you buy to get rid of poison sprayed on them. Learn from nature should be rule 5. Look at a giraffe, it eats on a tree and when the tree releases tannin and oxilates the giraffe moves up wind to the next tree, the tree recovers and the giraffe will leave it alone for a while the tree dumps the tannin and oxilates. Trees and veggies "talk" to one another though the wind and chemical release, That's why I harvest with care.

Timestamped summary The conventional understanding of cholesterol, insulin, and nutrition needs to be challenged in order to improve overall health and well-being. 🔴 00:00 Carbs are causing sugar surges and chronic stress, leading to health issues, and experts need to speak out against traditional dietary advice. Expand 🔴 11:57 Former rugby player struggled with emotional eating and obesity, highlighting the dangers of high-carb diets, the inflammatory response to sugar, and the misconception that fat causes cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Expand 🔴 24:17 Carbs are not the main cause of cardiovascular mortality, the healthcare system fails to address overeating as a substance abuse problem, and understanding hunger cues and portion control are important in managing carb intake and overall health. Expand 🔴 38:00 Carbs are not the root cause of hunger, individual dietary needs should be tailored, and emotional well-being is crucial for sustaining a healthy diet. Expand 🔴 47:38 Excessive carb consumption can lead to addiction and health issues, but transitioning to a carnivore diet isn't necessary; focus on behavioral changes and finding a balance that works for you. Expand 🔴 58:54 Carbs can lead to insulin suppression, elevated triglycerides, and potential health concerns, but some athletes may benefit from a small amount of carbohydrates, while the inclusion of carbohydrates in the diet has potential health benefits based on historical and cultural contexts. Expand 🔴 01:12:41 Eating carbs causes pre-made insulin, leading to quick response, while insulin suppression, high blood urea on carnivore diet, and stress can all impact insulin levels and fat absorption. Expand 🔴 01:22:03 Insulin is more important than diet, a high-fat, low-carb diet is crucial for health, and adding some carbohydrates or dairy products back into the diet may improve blood sugar levels. This is a great interview! So, my dad is extremely morbidly obese. He eats very little, but in the SAD diet. Food has always been huge in his mind, because he was starved as a child and has a fear of not getting enough food (which has resulted in many different eating disorders in his life). Now, even though he's not overeating anymore, he's still addicted -- every time we talk he talks about food. It would be nice to talk about something else. I so look forward to changing my diet to carnivore because, in part, I'm sick of thinking about food. Like my dad, I was once obsessed, and it took me a terribly long time to break that obsession -- water fasting and eating one big salad once per day helped me get rid of cravings and allowed me to stop thinking about food. But eating only veggies has not proved 100% healthy for me, and no wonder! I didn't know about the science of the carnivore diet! Now, I just want to get my nutrients, be healthy, and move on with my life.

@@Kuro-pv3ly Hi! Thank you so much! However, I have been learning that so long as fructose is eaten with a similar amount of glucose and polyphenol, you are good to go. I have been doing a lot better since I have added fruit back in. I have more energy, and I am not having as many migraine issues, which is a big relief! I am still eating the same amount of meat though, but I just needed to add in some carbs. Thank you again for wanting to help! 😊

@@PeaceIsYeshua glad its working for you. Try checking out Bart Kay videos on Paul Saladino. Spoiler: he has a very avidic humor, but he indeed gives good information. Maybe you were just not eating sufficient protein on one meal to trigger a good insulin response (about 1.75g/kg of body weight or more). Do what its best for you, but experiment other possibilities too. Best of wishes!

Never never underestimate the power of light, natural and artificial, in our environment and the effect it has on our metabolism and health. Steven Hussey is a perfect example. We have to think of light first nutrition second. We shouldn’t compare ourselves with meat eating tribes while in our blue lit homes on a computer. Same with LMHR Oreo experiment, they don’t consider light. I bet it’s more important than most realize

I also store my clean water in glass bottles and put them in the sun. Nobody wants to talk about urine therapy either. It works for me. No sick days in 4 years, and I'm type 1.
