Be wary of oxalate people. I used to eat lots of greens and salad and then one day a chunk of bone broke off my femur inside my knee joint. When they were doing the surgery to repair it they could see all the oxalate crystals on the bone around the damaged area. The docs said my knee would never function properly and I would never walk properly again. It took my over a year to recover and I stuck to a carnivore diet the whole time and I can happily say now I almost full knee function and I have no issues walking!

I use a zeolite powder called clinoptilolote every morning upon waking. 1/2 tbs dissolved in distilled water. You want to find the ultra fine version that is under 25 microns. Do not be fooled by the zeolite sprays, they are an expensive scam with no real evidence they work, just lots of hype. You will find plenty of papers of the powder on pubmed. Those of you with severe toxicity may want to consider dosing 2-3 x a day. Good luck and God bless to you all

My husband was just in Loma Linda University Hospital and they would not feed him MEAT! They wouldn't release him until he came out of ketosis (ok, he really hadn't eaten in 3 days because of surgery) and ate a ton of carbs (he had been carb free for over a year). He's still paying the price for eating the carbs. When he got home, all he would eat was three scrambled eggs four times a day. Took him over a month to add additional meats to his meals. Now, he's back to normal and enjoying his meat meals again.

Just changing my doctor. Because she actually said to me that diet has nothing to do with health! And, I needed to cut back on the thyroid meds because I lost 40 pounds, and she refused - she said just skip your thyroid medication one day a week because you're just going to gain the weight back anyway. I started Keto in 2004 when I weighed 330 pounds. I lost 120 pounds and continued until this year when I found Carnivore. I had maintained that first weight loss for 18 years and she was not impressed either with that weight loss or my current efforts. I will say that I was pre-diabetic in 2004 and that is what caused me to become interested in better health.

The definition of the word religion is a BELIEF in and WORSHIP of a superhuman controlling power especially that of a PERSONAL God or Gods. Who has a personal God? After the female egg chooses the swimmer the unborn baby starts to receive messages through the womb from the energies of the birth mother and when curious we had no choice but to go WITHIN and we had these experiences WITHOUT a BELIEF in those experiences. I remember in 2019 I was on the high veggie keto diet. In sept i felt so sick. I had heart palpitations and they would keep me up all night. I had to go into the office at 6am. I was trying to make a good impression at my new engineering job as a designer, but i was struggling. I had a random thought, "maybe veggies are actually bad for us". I looked it up and sure enough. I discovered oxalate overload, I think, from Mrs. Norton. I quit everything except meat cold-turkey. I sleep well the first night. As the days went on I felt so fatigue and in a daze, but I persevered. Eventually it got better and i was the weirdo cooking steaks in the break room. I fell off the diet in 2021 and now I learned enough to stick with it.

So thanks for reminding me that it's my fault. Sally’s biochemistry class experience was unfortunate. When I got my biology degree I had an amazing biochemistry professor (this was about 25 years ago). He was big on critical thinking skills. On our exams we would find completely new problems we had never seen, and we would have to use what we learned in class as tools to figure out the problem on the exam. It was excellent for learning & I loved it. Unfortunately lazy students started sending him death threats because his class was “too hard”. Also I have this rash on both of my hands (which I've endured since forever), but right now it went into full overdrive. And yes, I've been eating spinach, potatoes, and all kinds of "healthy" stuff pretty much daily for years, I genuinely thought that by ditching refined sugars, salt and saturated fats, and sticking to complex carbs, lean meat, and vegetables, I had this nutrition thing figured out. I must say, back in the day when I went "healthy", I did feel way better for a good while, but for years now I've been struggling with a few conditions that the doctors could never figure out. Apparently I've been living with rosacea, overactive bladder, and anxiety, with no solution but treating the symptoms. Anyway, I went carnivore about two weeks ago and it feels so good to be able to pee and empty my bladder in one go, also my nose seems to be clearing up slowly every day. The cramps got to the point I simply could not continue without adding carbs back to my diet. I am having a second huge dumping since I am earthing: a first days of changed face in favourable sense and after ten days the dumping again with both the effects of dumping and of improving parameters. I have dumping in the eyes, from some skin breakouts, bladder irritated etc. and at the same time my mobility improves, the pores in the nose disappear, peristalsis at the same time improved and eliminating, I can feel the fascial active in mobility exercises. I am slowing down with some tea, still I am surprised because I had yet cycles of dumping for two years when I got low oxalates. Here the sensation is that my fascial and lymphatic and circulation is activating by earthing. I am earthing barefoot an hour a day. Thank you for the good interview and all informations.

Wow this is awesome. As a person who spent 20+ yrs in medical and has kidney stones (hx 3 surgeries ) I so appreciate this. Knew some of this info but learned so much more. Have been encouraging people to be carnivore/ keto low oxalate recently again. This will really help. Much ❤ to you both

Sally was the first video I saw on oxalates. In videos lately, they do not bring home the fact that oxalates and other toxins are the cause of mitochondria malfunctioning. For those entering into carnivore I feel her knowledge is vital in completely understanding how food works in our bodies. Wish more content providers would include some of her information and refer to her book.

Had a nasty kidney stone a few months ago. As part of my keto diet, I ate a lot of nuts. No more. on occasion, but certainly not daily. Also, no more fruits and vegetables. The stone might have been an oxalate dump. started my keto venture about two years ago. Leaning much more carnivore, with some dairy, lately.

I just started full strict carnivore 6 days ago, beef salt and water. One of the many symptoms I’m running into is really bad cramps/Charlie horses in both of my calves around 3am every night it literally wakes me up. How long were you stretching? I’ve been suffering from cramps in my calves my whole life. But not this bad. I do run once a week for about a 2-5 mile run and after that my calves are toast. I feel I’ve been pushing my calves for a long time. Did you increase salt intake?

@lukesmith3283 I started adding it to my green drinks. Lmao. I got nutricost magnesium Citrate in powder form the serving size is one scoop 210 MG. If I was in pain I would use two scoops. But now, I use NOW brand, magnesium glycinate 200mg tablets one or two a day depending on how I'm feeling. I heard the body absorbs the glycinate easier then Citrate. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Hope that helps.

WOW! Sally, you beautiful soul! Thank you! You just changed my life!!! I have been so confused about why I felt so good when I first started carnivore, but now experiencing skin problems and exhaustion and brain fog again. I can't wait to dive into your book and all your material. Blessings abound! 😊 And as always, TY Dr. Chaffee for this and so many mind bending wonderful forays into sharing and underatanding health. Just so impressed, so blown away. So GREATFUL! I WAS SO SICK and when these symptoms came back I was terrified that I would never understand and was giving up hope. You guys gave me hope back! Think Little Debbie’s…pure Seventh Day Adventist… I used to work there…I did not give my son the proper diet growing up, because we were taught vegetarian, the best were vegan, the very best, raw… after leaving that belief system, I have been learning the truth about diet and what is best for my son… he is to the point of not being able to walk or talk or do anything, he is 36… I gave him green smoothies everyday last 15 years or more… I’m wondering if all this oxalates have contributed to lifelong seizures, autism stuff and pain and DVTs and body being stiff and tight, etc…. Hoping to unwind him back to himself

Really great conversation particularly towards the end where Sally states that oxalate dumping can occur 3 years after going carnivore. It seems to affect some, some badly and others not at all. Sally says some folks' food history has a long tail. That's me! Back in the 90s I went on a raw food diet. Oh my ...all those oxalate rich almonds.... I must have eaten tens of thousands. The conundrum is that you want to get rid of the stored oxalates but if your body releases too much at once you can end up in more trouble than you can deal with. In other videos Sally has stated that it can take up to 10 years to clear. Oh boy. Some of us will need to find a fast lane but safe oxalate dumping strategy.

Got my attention when you said oxalates could come out throught the skin and the salivary glands. Started during covid so I thought that was it. But I would itch terribly along dermatones each side of the body. No meds would help. Only very hot water. It seemed to bring the blood to the surface. And my teeth were/are being coated. I'd brush them, and an hour later coated again. What I experience/d follows your description.

Sally is courageous to share her personal story.... we can learn from this. What she describes reminds me of the book: "the iodine crisis" - the same thing is discussed when taking iodine which in the proper dose pushes bromide / fluoride out and the person has many negative symptoms.... so, you feel worse before you feel better

Great conversation, glad to see you two together. Adding to Sally, I 've noticed the most health destructive forms of oxalate foods are coincidentally the ones high in Vitamin A / Beta Carotene. Together they're a nasty duo as opposed to foods high in oxalates and low in Vitamin A. I don't think oxalate clearing isn't done by itself but the body also detoxing conversions of Vitamin A and Retinol to 13-Cis-Retinoic Acid. This is the reason why some Carnivores who were previously Largely Planted Based experience Oxalate and Hypervitaminosis A detox with burning poop that feels acidic and sweat that burns the eyes while also discoloring their clothing and sheets with yellow. Other Carnivores like Nose to Tail who eat a lot of Liver feel the Vitamin A detox coming later. Then you have carnivores who are a combination of both of these who still suffer from different Autoimmune Complications mainly through the skin to detox like Hidradenitis Suppurativa, Psoriasis, and other skin conditions. It is even more important to abstain from these foods and ensure the Liver is running well and supplied with Zinc, Selenium, Molybdenum, and Magnesium to accomplish Phase 1 and 2 Detoxification to get rid of these. Some carnivores may be depleted with some of these Minerals and will start to see old symptoms brought up again once they have their Liver working to full capacity. This is one of the trickiest and most complicated problems I have seen.

Norton among many others, the doing little n=1 experiments on myself to see how it works for me, with follow up blood work to make sure things are going in the right direction. Now my health is nearly perfect, better than it had been in decades. It’s all about diet! A dash of exercise and making sure to avoid too much stress make it even better.
