I am running T-Mobile on a different kind of modem, it's built into an outdoor professional 4x4 MIMO antenna, power it over ethernet and hung outside facing the towers. I'm pulling two 5G bands and aggregating them together, and achieving excellent RSRP, RSRQ and SiNR scores. N41 and N25. I'm going to do a video tomorrow hopefully and be able to tell you where you can find such a radio.

It depends on what you are running it on. Basically, it is an encryption algorithm that must encrypt and decrypt on the edge. So if you have a small set top box doing the VPN, your router would be faster but my i7-7700 is much faster than any router. So, I guess it depends.

No they are not the same. It looks like NetGear Armor is a modern version of BitDefender it "alerts you and instantly blocks webpages that possibly contain harmful malware, phishing, or other malicious content." Think of it as a black list of known bad sites and it warns you against harmful places. IPVanish is encryption. They might be good together. It would be interesting to test. With the loss of net neutrality, it is hard to be too careful.

Is T-Mobile your internet service provider? Aside from being "great" can you get less than a 20% reduction in performance?

I have a new modem that I got to share with everyone tomorrow. It's the fastest thing I've ever seen. The up speeds are way better than anything I've ever seen.

Charter communications is a very large cable provider but from the sound of it, their Internet service (apparently called "Spectrum") is not on the same part of the internet as IPVanish. This would be a miss match and I would suggest getting another VPN service. 75% overhead is too much. IPVanish is apparently, pardon the pun, "not on the Spectrum".

It does work well with a firestick but "As well", I wonder if you are trying to trick me because we are asking a Firestick to do the same encryption / decryption as an Intel i7, but then again 12Mbps down is all you need for 4K. You will be delighted with how well it works on a Firestick but... not as well (but way good enough)

Thanks. No trick intended. I've tried VPNs using the firestick in the past. The buffering was so bad it was useless. I usually get 225-250 download.

I have no idea what you are talking about. 🙃 Running your Own VPN makes no sense. Would I encrypt traffic on my own network to bypass my ISP? Securing your traffic, especially on your phones is very important. Securing your search history is important too. I use mine to geospoof, gain access to content in France that has been geolocked.
