NordVPN is well respected but it all comes down to how does it work for you. When you are running a VPN all your traffic is directed towards their servers before it goes elsewhere. You need to make sure that they have servers where you need the. I mentioned that there is no real cohesive Internet, it is a bunch of independent networks that are tied together at key junction points called IXP (Internet eXchange Points). TMHI is great but you need a VPN provider that is running servers on T-Mobiles network. In my example, I had almost zero latency hit (PING), so this tells me that IPVanish is where I need them to be. If your NordVPN has a very low latency hit, I'd keep it.... also make sure it works with your Bank, PayPal, Stock trading sites, etc. This is what you want a VPN for!

Yes, there are a ton of smaller VPN providers that will not perform the same way with TMHI. The idea of a single Internet proves false when you start to consider off network resources. Netflix replicates their servers on multiple trunks of the Internet to assure performance. It is time to try IPVanish. You will see a clear difference. ABSOLUTELY SWITCH VPNs. If you watched the video, I told you the reason IPVanish gets good scores where others do not. The INTERNET is not uniform. Your VPN provider needs to be pervasive enough that they have their solutions on the "same internet" as your ISP. If every packet has to be routed to an IXP point to change networks back and forth, you will get less than 10Mbps. I guess you could try other NordVPN servers and see if perhaps you can find one on TMobile.

I have god level experience with this. IPVanish kills Nord, sorry. Run a speed test. I get over 400Mbps on TMHI using IPVanish. Everything else seem like a joke. Here are the facts: There is no Internet. There are several of them. Your ISP needs to be on your internet or you will get terrible speeds. IPVanish is the only one on T-MOBILE SERVERS. That is why we get amazing speeds. I suffer less than 20% degradation. Sometimes I don't even know that I have it on. I tried Nord several months ago and it was hohum. If they want to send me a license to review it, I will look at it but IPVANISH KILLs in performance, and features like OVPN definitions. I have been using it for YEARS! It only gets better and I use it every week if not everyday.

TMobile does not throttle users based on usage but you may suffer "throttling -like symptoms" just from priority issues. TMobile announced that they would sell additional bandwidth in markets where additional bandwidth existed but some of chosen to move their gateways from the intended location and this has made a mess of things. TMobile's first priority is to their phone network. They have identified users by device and set different priority. This is why some people report getting 300Mbps on their phone and only 150Mbps at home. In this case, you are being throttled because of network load. TMHI users are at the bottom of the list priority wise. During the peak of the day, you may seem some slowing but I never get below 300Mbs, for example. Now would a VPN help, I don't think so because the throttle is happening locally in your neighborhood. A better signal will make your throttling more tolerable. Let's just say they drop your score by 50% during throttling... If you can boost your number, the throttled speed is more tolerable.

Interested to know your speeds using T-Mobile Internet. Most people have found other VPNs to offer unusable speeds and if you look in the comments below, this includes NordVPN. But if it works well for you by all means, don't change.

If you can multiple service providers bidding for your business, you might find something more compelling. I can get Comcast or AT&T in my area. AT&T is too expensive and Comcast is a bunch of liar, thieves and scoundrels - let's just say, I used to have them and they failed to meet my expectations.

Also, texts go through your cell tower, in some cases even with your phone connected to Wi-Fi. You need to turn on wifi calling in order to have texts go through via Wi-Fi.

Thanks to Net Neutrality laws going away, there are so many snoops out there now. Your ISP, your browser, your DNS, even your Operating System are totally tracking you. Sure HTTP will encrypt data, but they know what site you went to and how long you were there.

It's on the sticker of the bottom of the gateway. The IP address is 192.168.12.1 if you're on the network that should get you there

@@PeterC408 Thank you Peter but when I do that, I don't get the same screen that you were using. I'll try to describe what I see. In the top left corner, I see the T for T-Mobile, under that is the picture of the "home" icon, and under that is an icon that looks like a hubcap. To the right of that it says "Home" and under that is the "Connection status" and "Connection quality." On the right of the screen, it says "Mobile app." There is nothing on the screen or the few links provided that requests a login ID or password. The model of the T-Mobile router is 5688W if that helps.

What bands and RSRQ, RSRP and SiNR? VPN or straight?

@@PeterC408 N41, with a RsRP of - 111 and a SINR of 40. I usually get better results on N71. But I can fluctuate in a single day of 300/8 with a loaded latency of 300 to 40/5 with a loaded of over 1, 000 ms. Every now and then I can get in a goldilocks signal and get 200/15 with a loaded latency of 150

Just because your home network is safe doesn't mean that your use of the Internet is protected. What is the difference between a public Wifi and T-Mobile home internet? Technically speaking, we are not sure how T-Mobile's network is protected. Now to be clear, I am not overly concerned and I am not fear mongering but you should be aware that your data may very much be exposed. TMHI is broadcasting our IP data packets on a fixed path to the tower. If you are not sure you are protected, you act like you are not.

Really? I think you are making up stuff just for fun. DuckDuck go has been part of the OpenSource Community for so long. A community of talent programmers look for data leakage and sound the alarm. I know some people that say they will never get an Amazon Alexa because they spy on you. Do you know how many excellent data scientist have vetted and continue to test data packets form these devices. Still, some people think that their "research" is superior an they will keep spinning the same speech.

Google this, it is not true... but even it was... Where have you been? BlueCross was hacked lost my information. In reparations they offered me 2 years of Experian Credit Monitoring service, leaders in credit monitoring, they got hacked too. What do you recommend? Going with Comcast or AT&T that state that they are going to save all your data, store it forever and sell it to whomever? What if they are hacked? Wouldn't it be better to go with someone that does not keep logs? Also, google "IPVanished Hacked" and nothing comes up!
