Welcome to my channel! I'm going to take you through an hour long yoga class for strength, flexibility and balance. This hour long practice will help give any yoga beginners a chance to get familiar with some essential poses and learn how to practice vinaysa yoga
We move in and out of the poses fairly slowly to build body awareness and improve balance. This class will help you improve overall strength and flexibility. You will only need 1 block to do this class.

If you are an intermediate or advanced yoga practitioner, don’t let the “beginner” in the title dissuade you from taking this class. This session serves an an excellent reminder of good form. Thank you, Kassandra!

As a experienced yoga teacher, I would encourage any level student to practice this class. That said, labeling it “beginner” could be discouraging to true beginning level students. While all the poses individually are basic, the way some are sequenced (strung together) takes the class to a higher level between 25 and 42 minutes. Generally sequencing more than 2 poses on the long edge of the mat takes liberty with the beginning label. Unarguably stepping through from Down Dog to Warrior 1 to Pyramid to Warrior 3 to Tree is not a beginner sequence. Fun as it might be. I mention this only because I was so discouraged after taking my very first yoga class that I didn’t try yoga again for two years. Not because the class was poorly taught, but because it was mislabeled. I was led to believe it was a class for “everybody” and it was for more advanced students. So enjoy the class and if some parts are too challenging as a beginner that’s okay. You’ll get there with practice. That’s why is called Yoga PRACTICE, not Yoga workout.

A month ago I couldn't finish this video, I got about halfway through and my feet and thighs were in so much pain I actually sat on the mat and cried. Today my feet were still in pain (there's a lot of me for them to hold up) but I could breath through it and finished the video feeling so much better about myself. The changes yoga can make in such a short time astounds me. Your videos are awesome and I love that you take time to respond to questions in the comments, you seem to really care about everyone who watches your videos, it makes this SO much nicer to do!

I felt really distressed during my first time doing this video. I used to do lots of yoga but realized it has been over 10 years since then. I have very limited flexibility and my hands and arms kept going numb when held over my head. I am 29 years old. But your comment has really helped me have hope to come back to this video and improve my strength and confidence. Thank you!

Thank you yet again for your videos. I think I shared in another comment that I am an incomplete quadriplegic and former ballet dancer. I have been using your videos to supplement my rehab and daily fitness routine. I can't stand on my own, but today managed a downward dog pose for the first time in over 5 years. My injury was in 2012. Modifying your workouts has made a huge difference in how I see my "incomplete" body. Namaste!

I am a 70 year old who recently retired and began yoga classes one month before the Covid-19 lock down. I found your classes online after trying many others that just didn't work for me. I love your voice and capacity to explain and simplify the poses. I feel great afterwards! You rock Kassandra!

I know that this is an older video, but I really enjoyed this practice. It was challenging for me, but still gentle. Exactly what I was looking for. I have never been able to commit and finish a workout, but this was truly amazing. Afrer I had my baby, my body hasn't felt great. I don't feel like I'm going to die, and I feel like I can still get up and go do something without feeling absolutely exhausted. My body has never felt better. Thank you so much.

This class was my first Kassandra experience, at that time, I found it extremely difficult to keep up and complete, even with the modifications. Before this, I had very little yoga knowledge. That was over two years ago. I did it again today and was able to complete the session, without modifying any of the poses. I was even able to do the yogi squats, and hold them! Thanks again Kassandra. You are an amazing teacher and motivator. 🙏🏾💕

I enjoyed this very much. I felt it was a bit advanced for me but I feel I will improve by repeating this video. My balance is bad! I had trouble with some of the poses due to poor balance. But what a great workout! I look forward to coming back to this one again and again. Thanks so much! Is there other videos that specifically go slower and practice balance poses, anyone?

This is my first time getting through an hour practice! Many thanks for guiding me through it! I also did the yoga squat for the first time during a flow. I’m still working on it, and was a little wobbly on warrior 3 and tree pose, but I managed to finish the whole practice. I was intimidated to practice for an hour at a time for some reason, but I’ve done 40 min practices before. I’m glad I pushed myself, and completed this practice. Thanks again!

I used to do quite a bit of yoga and switched my focus to weightlifting for a while. Because of COVID, I can't get to the gym and started feeling sluggish. This is a great re-introduction to yoga and I like that it's longer as it helps me settle into poses and remember my form.

Absolutely fantastic class. I haven't been in the studio since the pandemic started. And, although I walk 3 miles every morning, it's not enough. Kassandra, I felt like I was back in a class, and the breathing and stretching were just what I needed. Thank you for sharing your practice on RU-vid!

This is probably the best build up sequence to warrior 3, some are too tiring that by the time I flow into warrior 3 my legs are already too weak 😅

First time trying yoga as someone who regularly practices meditation and mindfulness, I feel amazing after that! I regularly exercise so thought this would be easy....! I was wrong but it was extremely satisfying and hopefully will try now to do two sessions a week. Thank you!

I loved this. I like the way you specify every time which limb to use, right or left and that the instructions are clear enough that we don’t have to spend time twisting head to watch the screen. This is the first time I was able to walk from downward dog to top of mat. Thank you!

Hi Kassandra! I've been doing your 60 minute beginner class for two weeks now, and I feel like Im ready to go to an early intermediate class. I'm 62, and I have good strength but my legs flexibility is my weakest point. I tried an intermediate class, but it was very very tough for me. what class do you recommend for early intermediates?

Omg this was so good. It was difficult, I felt emotions being released and I had to take breaks. I was only able to get to 47 mts of it done. Goal is to do the full hour and have more stability . This kicked my butt . Thank you !

A little more challenging than I’d call beginner, but definitely a good for a beginner who wants to challenge themselves.

Hi Kassandra and Greetings from Manila ! How many times a week should we practice this session to start seing flexibility improvements ? I am 45yo and very stiff on my lower body because of other exercises like gym and running ! (Keep it up! Love the courses . Very good , especially being during this lockdown) cheers 😎

Hello Kassandra. Loving your channel. I have a question for you. I am 55yo over weight male with 2 knee replacements, tight hips, and arthritis in wrists, My goal is to have a regular yoga program. What videos would you recommend I try? Thanks and be safe!!

wow I`ve been busy browsing youtube this last couple weeks. Finding a beginner yoga vids that is not to fast in pace, a slow gentle flow but building strength n flexibility...but in a longer time. And here I am ! You answered my needs ! Thank you !!
