The electronic locker is superior to the g80. I like being able to turn the knob and know it’s engaged before I get into a situation. The g80 has to lose traction before it engages and it don’t always sound great when it engages. Worse of all is when they grenade and you have to drive home in 4x4. Lol. Your truck looks great though. I think it would look really good on some blacked out 22x12 forged wheels.
your truck made me really want a 5.0 f150 so I bought a 2018 f150 crew cab short bed and i absolutely love it, I got my exhaust done a month ago and i got cat back true duels with no mufflers and a xpipe. its super rowdy and sounds awesome.
1) Your driveway test - use 4wd vs locker with your rear tire lift and desired tight turn on top of driveway. You want the rear locker off-road only. Locker is discussed in manual and this use is not right for locking the rear on dry pavement. 4wd is actually front 1 wheel and 1 rear wheel. 2wd is actually 1 rear wheel drive. offroad with locker you have 3wd. suggest reading up on open differential vs locked. remote start /seat - yes, ford wants to milk more ca$h. I have a 2022 XLT without remote start and I'm glad NOT to have remote start. I value security more and remote start vehicles can be ripped off easier by higher tech criminals. Also the more simple key fob costs less to replace. Also go to locksmith vs dealer and most importantly, read the manual and it tells you how to program a new key fob. I added a simple key-only fob so it's not this big bulky mess in my pocket.
Your video just saved my sanity, i didnt know the truck goes into power save mode and my remote start wasnt working, it had sat for a few days, and i tried it wouldnt work, tried it after i drove it ,started right up!! Thanks for the video!
idk if you would want to or not but I would look into swapping the seats on it from a higher trim, in most cases they keep the wiring for power seats and other options in all models. it saves them time and money making them all the same with different seats rather than doing them a certain way
Yep, my 2020 stx had that key fob and i hated it, like you i thought it was funny i could crank it from anywhere with my phone and not the key fob, any you're 100% right fords paint job is the best, my 2006 f150's paint still looks brand new, great vid man, love your truck.
The main thing that bothers me with those keys is the fact that buttons have no rubber on them but instead they’re hard plastic so anytime I lean up against something it’ll hit the alarm button so I have to scramble for my key to turn it off
Love the truck , I have a basic 2018 XLT. What they call a fleet model . Should of went your route with the xl and Stx package . But with only 24 months of payments left we get to get it right this time . Had it 4 years and it’s my daily driver and never had a problem
Hook up Forscan. You might be able to get rid of the truck going to park when you open the door and change other settings aswell. Also my XL to remote start you hit lock, unlock lock and it'll start
Now have a 23 F150 STX FX4 and gotta say I’m 100% in agreement, I did get the 2.7 Eccoboost and the rear suicide door cab and 6.5 bed, mine runs good, but don’t sound as sweet as that 5.0. Mine didn’t come with fog lights and no lumbar supply adjustment, not saying it’s uncomfortable, but knowing it’s not there bothers me. Hate the auto dim head lights disabled it on the big screen. Great video enjoyed it.
I bought an rst silverado at the beginning of the pandemic for about 13000 under sticker.. Held on to it until a week ago because of inflated prices.. Bought a fx4 xlt for about 10 g under msrp.. Finally able to buy again!!
I agree with most of what was said. I have had many trucks, Ford, Chevy and regrettably a couple Dodges. I am 60 years old. But for about the last 10 years or so especially Ford trucks are by far the best overall 1/2 ton truck. I could care less about what brand it is. I work for a large utility company and all they will buy is Fords. As he said any truck is not perfect but overall the best truck is a Ford F150. If I live long enough I will most likely own another Chevy. But chances are the whole time I have it I will be regretting not getting another Ford.
Hey man I would look and see if they have another key you can program to the truck with the remote start button. My 2011 two original keys didn't have it but I bought some that did have it.
I have been really curious about the Seat Jackers- the spacers that go under the seat to put it in a more reclined position. Might make a good video, since not much on youtube about them.
I got a 21 xlt also is it just me or the cushion on the seat wears very quickly? I’m a bigger dude but the cushion seems wore out very fast for 20k miles
Great video 👍 I just have to disagree with “not getting good deals or paying MSRP” I just picked up a new 2023 F150 Platinum with the power boost and every add on possible for $64k so $20k under my window sticker. Just gotta get em at the right time. 😜
Been driving diesel/gasser gmt's all my life. Never had one grenade on me and I drive like an asshole. Honestly, I would prefer a trutrack but never had issues with any of my g80's (yet)...
Half the things you complained about would be corrected if you just would have got the next up trim level the XLT in lieu of just an XL. You get the better key fob, electric adjustable heated seats, LED headlights and more. Unfortunately in todays world you arent going to get all the bells and whistles on the base level vehicles. I have the "XLT" level of the F150 Tremor pkg and absolutely love the truck. Im glad you still like your truck minus some of the upgrades you mentioned. Nice video about your truck and it looks and sounds great.
I'll be honest I'm a ford guy but I've got a 2019 Chevy Colorado and your not wrong my 2000 f150 has better paint than the Chevy only 50k miles on the colorado
@@Itsxthebk14to defend him on the key, the WORST key design ever. I went thru 3 on my 2015 Mustang until I programmed a 2018+ key and fixed all the issues.
@@169abr I guess I'm more old school even though I'm young I don't complain about stuff like that after I physically bought something if anything I complain about not even power or something important
