*CORRECTION: Cheryl never saw Pyramid Head, so that was wrong, and it can be debated that Detective Tapp never interacted with Amanda herself, even though they both interacted with Jigsaw! Here is a quick Fun Facts video talking about Vecna and The Troupe! This video I hope is very cool for those that didn't play Dungeons and Dragons or haven't done a campaign with Vecna as a character. This is the last video I will upload for a while, as I am going on a quick trip to Spain!
Have fun on your trip mate! Bring us back a virtual present, just put it somewhere in your next video, a tiny spanish flag in the corner of the screen maybe
Cheryl dreamt of pyramid head prior to entering the realm. The descriptions of the his p3 cosmetics show that. I mean it was more than likely premonitions like the beginning of SH3. But if one wanted to get technical about it...
I think for killers like Sadako and Pinhead, they have a lot of power, but are basically tied to mortal vices that help to control them such as the cursed videotape and obviously the lament configuration. They basically already have their own seals that prevent them from becoming all powerful, so I feel as though adding the entity’s mark on them wouldn’t really make all that much of a difference.
@@kingol4801 simple, he’s a manifestation of a person’s desire to be punished for their misdeeds. The entity has nothing to worry about because the entity is a being that clearly shows no desire to be punished for the things that she’s done. Pyramid head would have no reason to resist or punish the entity whatsoever, because the entity has no desire to be punished or even any remorse for her actions.
@@Shuffles_Artalso pyramid head has always seemed to serve a higher calling and I assume that the entity has become his higher calling also one pyramid head was in the realm the entity has complete control of him cause it can control everything within its realm
It was cut out in this clip, but he immediately follows that with "I'm not sure that's the final name we ended up on." That's why in this video we only hear him refer to it as the "mark of the entity" although MintSkull correctly used "mark of negation" (which Mathieu later mentions as likely being the final name).
You know this Baermar guy has intelligence as his dump stat, because who else finds some incantation in a lich's lair and decides that it will make a nice song to sing right about now
@@gav7497 hell, the only reason why the troupe ended up here was because they wanted to find out what was making the villains disappear so they could restore the balance of good and evil and keep writing songs about heroic deeds or something like that
The entity branding Vecna to hold him back is such a funny concept “Let me put god in the ring, but let’s not let him get too powerful, want a massacre not the extinction of the human race” -The Entity
I feel like it was more for self-defense at Vecna's level. "Okay, just going to take away that 'Painfully invert the soul of eldritch entities' spell you have, you definitely don't need THAT for the trials..."
This beholder gave me an idea: Map moris. The killer can take a survivor that is in his last hook to a certain point of the map to perform an execution with elements of that map. If we go a step further, even different killers can get different executions in the same map.
Is Vecna the strongest though? If the book is ever taken Vecna is kinda fucked isn’t it? Idr dnd lore well but I do feel like Vecna is probably one of the strongest near Pinhead
Tbh his kit is really good, it's just that some cooldowns and recovery from power usage needs to be tweaked which I think they will do for the live release.
As a big DND guy, Vecna outside of the Entity's realm is the first lich and a man who ascended to Godhood, so he knows a PLETHORA of ways to annihilate the Entity that there would be little he could do. But since he allowed himself to be brought willingly into the trials, the Entity can control about most of his abilities but since he has the BOVD, he essentially he just do whatver himself. Long story short: Vecna is VERY strong.
Vecna wasn't the first to go from mortal to god (or in this case Lich to god) Myrkul, Bane, and Bhaal became deities before him when Jergal abdicated and divided his portfolio between them. that said Vecna is still far more powerful than the dead three ever were.
The sword of Kas is only voiced by Matthew Mercer in Critical Role, which is a D&D playthrough series which is DM'ed by Matthew Mercer, so naturally he would voice the npc in his own game. The sword is never actually officially voiced in any canon WOTC media.
I doubt that Vecna can leave anymore. He entered by choice, but ended up getting branded like a cow and now he's likely too limited to do anything about it. Arrogance at it's best, quite fitting for his character.
It isn't the first time he's been put in this position and escaped. The Dark Powers created a dread domain for him, a special kind of prison meant to forever torment him, but he broke out and became a god. Now he straight up is a god so doing something similar with the entity isn't out of the question.
@@theindiefox347 Great thing to point out because the entities realm looks and acts just like a dread domain in dnd and conically it's in the dnd multiverse (which does exist) now somewhere
This is a great point honestly the only massive difference I’d say is the entity is actively watching and preventing him from leaving and also it has complete control within its realm
He seems pretty calm about the situation. I imagine so long as he has the book, he has options, but he's DEFINITELY too arrogant to leave empty-handed.
It would be cool if BHVR added the mark to every killer but the color determined the severity of the limiter. Red being for the absolute strongest killers i.e. Vecna, Sadako, both PHs, Freddy etc. Orange for the next tier like Wesker, Nemesis, Oni, yellow for the next like Trapper, Billy, or huntress, and green for those that the entity is actively empowering like GF, Legion, Pig.
Correct, people from both Forgotten Realms and Greyhawk have ended up in his realm. The dark powers that put Strahd there have some similarities with the Entity. I wonder how that would have played out in his lore if he did get picked for the chapter.
I really hope we get a blighted Vecna cosmetic some time down the line. It would make so much sense lore-wise, considering that the Blight flowers are the Entity's only weakness, so he'd want to harness it.
@@somelolicon293 yeah but still, I feel like the Entity is weaker than I thougt also we have now a Statsblock of Vecna, that means in dnd you can defeat him. So some adwentures can defeat him but the Entity can´t. But thats not the Only case wher the Entity is to weak to just Took him, pp Head is just in the Trail becaus he mayed a Deal with the Entity, ohters are just broke in to the Trail and he got summend out of his Trail more than only 1 Time and that all make him look weak for a god like him in my opiniond...
@@somelolicon293 Thats because Vecna is a literal God in dnd and to be honest about what geheimkanal said above, Vecna might have been a bad fit for this game, cause your adding a second foreign god to the realm. One whos potential more powerful than the entity itself.
@@geheimkanal6968 the thing is, at the starting of the game when entity was weaker some killers i dont remember which but they were manipulated by entitly to do killing or some shit so that the entitly can get a hold of that place to yoink them, this proves that entity is only all powerful in its realm, and i dont think vecna is going to escape the entity unless bhvr losses its license so chill out
They really had the potential to give Vecna add-ons that transform his power like Myers. He could get a fifth spell that replaces one of his original four
The thing is, Vecna is so powerful that even with the mark, he could try and break it! He was able to resist The Entity when it attempted to take him, he knew what he was getting into 👀
I think he can. Its just that the limiter is there so the trial wouldnt be too short for the Entity. The Entity still cant stop him from leaving the realm, much like how it cant stop the Cenobite from whisking people away in his mori
Now what Mathieu said was a little off Vecna is not a demigod, he's a full blown god and as the entities realm technically would be considered a "Realm of Dread" by dnd lore standards it would indeed be easy for Vecna to take control of eventually (depending on the entities strength).
Gotta love how the survivors just walk into Vecna's lair expecting not to get killed, then find some evil incantation and decide to sing it. It really is like your average DnD campaign.
Honestly picking dnd or Castlevania for a vampire is kind of a mistake i would have prefered an original vampire chapter that would allow licensed skins like castlevania , dnd and resident evil with dimitrescu daugthers.
Hold on, if Vecna has that mark of Entity then shouldn't Freddy have that aswell? since he got nerfed by the entity. I think Warner Bros is behind all this.
Freddy probably nerfs himself because he has no real motivation to be overpowered, also another possibility is that the longer the trial takes the stronger he gets, because you're deeper asleep, ex: Bloodwarden, Remember me and Fire up
The vorpal sword (I’m pretty sure) is not the Sword of Kas. The Vorpal Sword is its own kind of magic item, it’s just a very powerful one and a very rare one. Its entire enchantment DND 5e is decpitating its victims. Canonically the Sword of Kas is the only weapon that can destroy their hand and eye of Vecna, and the hand and eye of Vecna are the only weapons that can destroy it. Would take the first chance he could absolutely destroy that thing if he got his hands on it, because him and Kas are actually STILL fighting in the Shadowfell. Granted, this Vecna is clearly a bit different, so maybe it is the Swors of Kas, and maybe Kas is dead or isn’t there
I swear there was a scene with Superman explaining the handcuff makes them (military) feel safer but he could easily remove it. Maybe Venca only accepts it because he wants to study the realm. @@_Lunaria
Number 4 is so stupid though because you’d think that Cheryl, Ash, Pinhead, and Freddy would have those marks as well since their powers are super toned down in the entity’s realm.
I'm not sure what Vecna is in 5E, but IIRC in earlier version he had ascended to godhood.A Minor one perhaps when put against Tiamat or Lloth, but he was an actual deity with followers and cults spread across multiple Planes. So you might be closer comparing him to Leviathan than Pinhead, and Freddy is nowhere close.
I think Aestri has a voice line that says she’s over 300 years old Edit: She says, “I have not lived three centuries just to perish in some desolate demi-plane”.
Okay the elf survivor might be my new favorite one, purely for the fact that she's a 300 year old elf woman, tho tbh I was expecting Vecna to be a solo killer with a bunch of class cosmetics for currents survivors, I was mainly expecting them to just give a cheap warrior, mage, rogue, and ranger outfit for Dwight and only Dwight
Strahd von Zarovich is not from the Forgotten Realms Campaign setting, he is from the Mists of Ravenloft or just Ravenloft Setting. Funnily enough, Vecna was also in that setting for a while, and that setting is vary similar to the Entities Realm... only with arguably stronger powers.
Just a correction, the sword IS NOT the one that killed Vecna, Kas sword doesn't appear in the chapter, that's the legendary Vorpal sword who is just a sword that instant kills anything if you roll a 20 (if they have an head you basically cut it)
Quick fun fact about survivors: Their last names mean Writer (Yazar) and Fortune/Luck (Uraz) in Turkish. I don't know if it was intentional but thinking that Uraz is the one who happened upon the scroll it seems likely.
Figured Dracula had to be why they didn't go with Strahd he fits DbD so much more than Vecna, Strahd's home setting is actually a lot like DbD (surrounded by mist and unable to escape alive or dead) Maybe Dracula can get a Strahd legendary skin (with Matt Mercer's voice) and make Castle Ravenloft a map in whatever realm Dracula's Castle will be in. And maybe if they did do a second DnD chapter or update they could have a Cleric or Paladin Survivor, again suits DbD a bit more but Bard is a bit more iconic to DnD.
If he has that entity mark that weakens him, he won't be strong enough to leave or take over. The entity benefits from him thinking he can defeat it as it will have another killer working for it
Pyramid Head and Myers aren't powerful at all,Pyramid Head had no power prior to his entrance to the realm and Michael had everything he does in game given by the entity,he is still just a guy with a knife. Everybody else is correct except maybe Nemesis. But who really knows. Freddy also canonically got one. He is tecnically the first canonical Mark of Negation killer.
Honestly nah, the entity'd win. If i was a survivor id taunt the hell out of vecna. What's he gonna do, kill me? May i remind him who made it impossible to die permanently in this world? And who you have to make an offering to to personally kill me instead of hooking me on *who's* sacrificial hooks? Entity's a real one, all my homies love the entity
you really think taunting Vecna with the fact that you can't be killed permanently would phase him? the shit Vecna could do to them outside of a trial would make them *wish* they could die.
In addition to Aestri being the oldest survivor by age, I think Vecna is the oldest killer by age also. I don’t know much about Dungeons and Dragons but apparently he’s between 1,000-100,000 years old(one website said that he’s 2692 years old), regardless this makes him much older than Look-See and Pinhead. Correct me if I’m wrong on this.
My thoughts exactly. They should give him 50 unique powers and instant death skills though. In Dota 2 custom game, Ainz is available as a playable meme character. He is an absolute headache to play (finding the right spell and keys to cast something takes solid 5-20 seconds of typing), but has indeed over 4 dozen spells His ultimate in that mode does NOT give him a power up or some new ability - it simply casts and combines existing abilities in quick succession for the player. His time stop, for example, genuinely stuns all players in the game (global Faceless void ult)….. until he casts next spell or 30 second run out. He can also summon over 30 different creatures, has 8 unique AoE attacks, 4 instant-death attacks and many stat boosts/QoL abilities. The difficult part is playing that character. But if you do play him well, you can stun-lock other players for 20+ seconds (they usually die before then, however).
Wait a second, that part where your singularity looked thru a cam, there was a rug on the wall that looks similar to the one in the old temple of purgation. Right? What would it mean?
Still REALLY REALLY wish they picked ANYONE ELSE!!! Vecna is cool and all, but Stranger Things brings in DND elements already, and Vecna is also a Stranger Things villain, making this basically just a Second Stranger Things killer even though they plan on adding Stranger Things Vecna. I’d legit rather a random Bhaal spawn compared to Vecna. And Strahd would’ve been WAY COOLER.
I don't think Vecna can just leave whenever, he IS stuck but stuck by initial choice. He is learning and wanting to learn how to control the entity for himself. Whether he manages this or not is up to the devs
Reality manipulation is not the same as omnipotence. Shaping reality is akin to shaping a sand castle on a beach. Except some entities do it with a kiddy shovel, and some with an excavator. Freddy can manipulate reality to an extent. But he is nowhere close to the likes of Dr. Manhattan
@@kingol4801 that is true. But I'm still putting him above a lot of other killers in the game considering what he did to a superhuman like Jason Voorhees
@@FinestFantasyVI I'd say vecna is probably stronger mainly because of his vast knowledge and countless spells but then again alan can literally shift the flow of reality and banish darkness
Dev saying it doesn't mean we can't have vecna from stranger things is the best thing I learned today, I'd love to see a stranger things chapter 2 with vecna and max And I really prefer stranger thing's vecna appearance
of course the dnd party picked a random thing in a dungeon and completely derailed the campaign... Player - I sing the scroll! DM - you what? Player - sing the scroll? DM - are you sure? Player - ...yes. DM - roll for how good you do? Player - 27! DM - well ah... you sing, and as you do the room gets darker, colder, the papers in the table start moving like as if a strong wind was in the room but you don't feel it. slowly a thick fog starts coming into the room, moving weirdly as if it has a mind of it's own Other Player - I join the singing! DM - join? Other Player - yea, like a duet! DM - ok... the fog gets closer, a terrible chill runs down your spines as if mistakes were made and you both feel like prey that just realized they are being watched by a vicious predator. Player - I stop singing and put the scroll down. DM - ok, now... Other Player - I try walking into the fog. what do I see? DM - Player - Other Player - Well? DM - roll a dice real quick? Other Player - 18. DM - you see a campfire. some people seem to be around, but you don't recognize them. Other Player - in the room? DM - no. you are in some sort of forest now. Player - do I see them? DM - no, you can't see anything in the fog Player - I follow them. do I find them? DM - roll for luck? Player - 3? DM - You find yourself in a room similar to where you once were, but something feels off about it. You hear a someone approaching, a skeletal figure with a floating dagger appears. you recognize vecna. all your equipment disapeared besides your lute. Player - WHAT?!? DM - Now for the people that were in the other room! Your friends have disappeared to another plane of existance and I need to figure this out... can we end session?
pyramid head is technically a construct of god, like THE biblical god. silent hill lore is strange. i always read the lore of pyramid head as if god and the entity made a deal, so god gave the entity pyramid head from a previous visitor (james)
the whole point of flight of the damned is to make survivors react to it so vecna can catch them - its sole purpose isn't to hit. if they're crouching, they're not running
I hope they leave the Mark of Negation off any other characters. I think it’s just annoying to have it mess with the design of the character. I don’t think they need to bother explaining things much since most don’t care about the lore of DBD.
I feel like more characters would have this mark wesker, chris, ash, jill, leon, ada, and nemesis. Are all way more powerful than characters like legion. I hope they retcon it so other characters have it.
Still cant stop Michael or Pyramid Head from changing the rules and insta killing people tho. I feel like those 2 in particular break the Entitys rules.
@@FinestFantasyVIPyramid Head and Entity had an “understanding,” I assume this includes the mori thing. PH is up to interpretation though. Sadako can also kill but she and the Entity made a deal so she would only do it when conditions were met
@@OwlpoAnimations Yeah, Onryo has a pact with the Entity, so I didnt count her as she isnt "breaking the rules" by using a mori. Its an understanding where the Entity allows her to kill people who are not cursed by the tapes, via hunting and hooking them as opposed to waiting 7 days. Thats why I dont count her. Where as Michael and Pyramid Head dont have such an understanding, they just do their thing
@@Antbrat4.0 I dont count basekit vs addon case, because Michael is an early model of a killer before Behaviour came up with a basekit kill alternative. He is a simplistic killer of his time. The fact that he has an addon to isnta kill you with 0 hooks just screams him ignoring the Entities orders
