2004 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 Slave Cylinder Replacement
Heading to a friends house to help him out with a fading clutch pedal, and having to continuously add brake fluid. The Slave Cylinder is leaking and must be replaced. The fluid in the system also has a lot of contamination, so it's getting refreshed also.
One of the hardest parts of bleeding a clutch hydraulic system is cavitation. Air gets trapped and easily compresses when the pedal is pressed, and re-expands when the pedal is released. Without pressure, you can't get the fluid moving. By LIGHTLY clamping the pressure line so fluid doesn't freely drip, fluid CAN be pushed through without the air getting sucked back.
As with MOST exposed fasteners, in the Salt Belt, when different types of metal are involved, things corrode and rust solid. Some come out, some do not. In this case, the head of one of the bolts snapped off, and was removed later on. All other issues were also addressed. Not every job goes smoothly, but KNOWING when to quit and hand it over to someone else is important! Chewing off what remained, would have made the removal MUCH more difficult, and one bolt will be sufficient enough to get it to where the broken one can be extracted.
I didn't have access to the necessary tools.
ALL reinstalled fasteners got a light coating of anti-seize.
(I didn't have the appropriate tools to remove the broken bolt, and didn't want to make it more difficult to remove by chewing away at what was exposed, so I "sucked it up", and admitted defeat. I know enough to quit before making it worse. It went down to a local garage for the fire wrench treatment. Welding a nut onto the remaining portion worked perfectly. Missing and broken fasteners were also replaced at that time)
"You've got no more excuses... Pick up those wrenches!"

I do most, if not all repairs, with tools that I carry around in my overloaded 1997 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. I perform "On-Site" braking and suspension repairs, amongst other diagnostics and services. My tools consist mostly of Craftsman, a few Stanley, Snap-On, Husky, Pittsburgh, and S&K tools. Scan tools include hand held Actrons, DVOMs, and test lights. I also currently use a Zurich ZR Pro, for advanced and bidirectional diagnostics as well as a Snap-On Verus Pro, for more detailed diagnostics. I'm always expanding my collection, based on need and convenience.
