I remember when this game was played my cable company had contract issues with NBC so they blocked this game .. I was super mad .. smh

It's fascinating watching this almost 20 years later. I don't think either of these QB's get drafted in the 1st round today.

Thanks for posting, by the way. 15 years ago I only watched the very end of this game and this is the first time I watched all of it. That was outstanding football and an incredibly close game. Even that Jarrett pass was no more than a half foot from being batted down.

USC put Reggie Bush on Kickoff with 3 seconds left in this game..... USC should've put Reggie Bush in the Texas game when it was 4th & 19!! A few stupid mistakes cost USC the Texas Rosebowl game...(Lendale's 4th & 1, 4th & 19, and Reggie's toss "fumble")etc.....etc... ✌✌

This game kicked off the same time that the Michigan-Penn State game did and both had fantastic finishes.

It's so wild in 2020's watching 2 CFB teams play under center 'pro style' or at least as it was in the 1990's-2000's NFL, when 10 Bill Walsh pass patterns plus the usual 5 run plays were everyone's base plays. Yet today, Pro Style is shotgun 1/2 the time, 3 WR 2/3 of the time. While college; You don't get 2 TE or a FB under center every down in 2021 unless you're watching Wisconsin. Which now has an advantage in playing such a different offense.

Football's fumble out of bounds rules are dumb. Because Leinart fumbled directly out of bounds, USC retains the ball. But if Leinart had fumbled THROUGH the end zone and out of bounds, it would be advantage ND. There's no reason for this inconsistency. Regardless of whether the rule chosen were to favor the offense or the defense, this rule should be more consistent either way.

WHEN IS A PENALTY NOT A PENALTY? ONLY IN THE BIGGEST GAME OF THE YEAR. FIRST OF ALL LEINHART’S FORWARD PROGRESS WAS STOPPED, GAME OVER. BEFORE THE BUSH PUSH. 15 YEARS LATER, STILL RIDICULOUS. 🍀🏈🍀
