I've lifted two WK2 Grand Cherokee's so far (see videos on my channel), I did a spacer lift first time around on the first one (2011) but no sooner did we install the spacers the struts blew, so I then did no spacer and added the Rough Country loaded struts. The second Grand Cherokeee was a 2013 WK2, I did the Rough Country loaded struts again in the front with two strut shims and JBA UCA's. Both Jeeps I installed Wrangler take off wheels and tires (32") with 1.5" wheel spacers.
Anyone wondering, I’m assuming this (being a limited WK2) comes with the factory 350mm vented front disk brakes. He’s running a 17x9 +12mm wheel and you can see it clearly works. Offset had everything to do with clearing the caliper bracket! Everyone says you can only do 18 inch wheels with the Limited, overland, summit, and HD brake kits….this guy made it work fine!!!!
Yes! I had done some research before buying wheels. Kept reading you could only do 18” as well, but I took a chance 😅 and it worked 😂🤙🏻. I also once saw on IG someone put these same wheels on there jeep but with a -12 offset. Looked awesome!
Man that looks sick AF ! 🔥💯 I have the same kit just havent installed it yet . I was told i might have problems with the brake lines not reaching ! But you guys made it look really smooth . 💯
Thanks bro! We thought about extending the break lines to. But we didn’t. What we did do was detach them from the clips that hold the break lines to the axle. So it has extra slack to flex. Thanks for watching! Also don’t forget to give us a LIKE!
That is called Quadralift. It comes on Trailhawks standard. It’s often equipped on the higher trim levels also. It’s not as common on Laredo and Limited trim models. Look for those and you’ll find one without Quadralift easily.
Looks dope! I’ve always wondered, what makes the wheels stick out more from the side? I saw a Jeep once similar to this one with a lift, but the tires were sticking out a little bit more from the sides.. i think that would be a cool look for this whip too
@udopiarecords4549 Unless you run mud/gravel guards and wheel arch flares, Running wheels with wider offset backspacing, wider rim/tire widths, or wheel spacers may result in some wear and tear on the bodywork near the wheel arches, or fling stuff at other vehicles on the road. This breaks windows, and chips paint on other cars. The stock wheel arches catch most of that stuff if you are flush or tucked. But if you are poking - in some states it's illegal for your tire tread to protrude out beyond the wheel arches UNLESS you widen the arches with flares, and run mud guards. You still get that "broad shoulder" look... but it catches most of the crap off-road tires like to fling. The only thing I've ever seen that likes to fling crap worse than an AT or MT tire is a tack only sticky semi or full slick. That soft rubber just loves to hold on to stuff and then zip it of at mach snot. The poke look does look pretty sick on a 4x4 but if you are gonna do it - do it right and make sure you consider other road users, I'm sure all of us have had to replace a windshield at some point because of a stone or road debris strike... and we all know that sucks.
Wheels are 17x9 +12 offset. Running 275/70 tires. Only issue is they rub a little when turning but nothing too crazy! Thanks for watching, dont forget to like, subcribe, and share!
Gracias! Iso rub un poco cuando le das vuelta enfrente alli como enseña en el video. I didnt fix it, asi lo deje, casi no pega nomas cuando le das vuelta pero muy poco.
Great job 👍! I've been looking at that same kit. On the rough country website it says that it fits V6 only. It obviously looked perfect on your hemi. I have a diesel which is a little heavier. How does the Jeep ride now? Thanks!
@@osvaldocastro4909 thanks for the reply and letting me know the motor. The quick shot of the motor with the V made me assume hemi. I'm glad you're happy with the setup
I was looking for suspension lift kit. Can u rate how it drives ??? Right now I have spacer and I think it sat a bit.. there is one more dobinsons lift kit too for wk2. That's bit expensive. So wanna spend money on right thing
I have a question? When it comes to long drive on a highway and driving like 140-150 km/h does is bouncing too much? How it feels is? Is it too bad? Thanks
Ngl, i'm not into lifted vehicles unless they are really being used off road... (not saying yours isn't) The whole "bro truck/mall crawler" thing is silly (a 4x4 should see some dirt now and then) Spend 60k on a rugged 4x4 and never actually use it?! Makes no sense. But That looks damn GOOD. Good taste in the bronze wheel color. And the lift is just right without being obnoxious. Well done!
@Osvaldo Castro lol it'll actually fit the 2wd models as well. I have a 2" spacer from Supreme Suspensions on the rear and these 2.5" loaded struts, makes the WK2 look so much better.
My tires I installed with this kit are BF Goodrich All Terrain KO-3's. LT285-70-17. I also bought the Rough Country rims, steel wheels, black/ 17x9/ 5x5/ 3.30 bore/ -12 . They're about 80$ each. I also bought new TPM sensors. Hope this helps.😎🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
