PLEASE ask any questions you have if there is something I didn't cover in the video. I'm happy to try and answer anything. This was my loaner car for two days while Terrance got worked on. Enjoy!
The Corolla was refreshed for 2017 and Toyota added it's safety sense package standard which includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Automatic High Beams. If you change lanes without signaling, it will beep. My 2018 SE came with Firestone 17" inch rims. I also have the premium package with adds push to start (Smart Key), Moonroof and upgraded 7" Etunes Plus with Scout GPS and XM Radio.
Excellent information! This definitely had the safety sense package, but not the premium package. How do you like owning one? Is the premium package worth it to you?
It's nice. the leather wrapped steering wheel and softex seat with cloth is comfortable. I like the push to start. I don't use the Scout GPS very much. The SE has a more spotier look.
Beautiful downtown. That rooftop/garage is so pretty with the sunset. The weather is probably super amazing too. As for the Corolla, not a massive fan of those hub-caps on the base but overall, the car is really solid. I love my Camry. I love Toyota! Toyota for life! LoL.
Bad Driving in Hamilton Toronto Area Yeah weather in Columbia is rarely something to complain about. It was 75 with light wind that evening. Toyota definitely cut some corners with design (as expected on an economy car) but overall it is very solid. It was nice to drive around for two days
We had a 2014 Corolla rental and it was a very nice car, especially for a Corolla, which used to be a tin can with wheels. We even had 5 people in it and there was still a decent amount of space. The CVT gave us great gas mileage, we actually went 5 days (probably 65% highway driving) on 1 tank of fuel! But the CVT also was slow and buzzy, which are two qualities that a normal automatic or manual don't possess. It's a car I recommend for anyone 👍
It’s an incredibly practical and fuel efficient car, but definitely not fun to drive. I did a whole bunch of errands with all my friends to save us the gas money and we were amazed. It was fun for two days
I am currently receiving this car. This car is so beautiful and has everything I’ve always wanted in the car except for white leather seating. But that’s OK because now I get to have a car
Buying this next week wasn’t sure but after seeing this iI’m content ..60.000 k no dents bo scratches. hope it’s worth the buy. Will be my daughters after she learns how to drive.
"I definitely consider myself to be a spirited driver." YES, that's where Acura comes into play 😆. I thought Toyota safety sense on the Corolla came with the lane keep assist too and automatic highbeams..I may be thinking about the Camry which has LKAS, FCW and automatic braking, auto high beams, and adaptive cruise control standard too lol. I like how you combined some of the dashcam footage at night to see how the headlights operate. I've been slacking on my car reviews. I just never have the time and cars to review like I used to. Maybe I'll do my grandma's CRV. I loved the review. Sorry for the *long* comment haha.
The toyota safety sense might be different from 2017 to 2018. I didn’t see anything about auto high beams or lane keep assist, but I possibly could have missed it. A relative’s RX has those features and they are easy to find though.
Clueless Drivers of Maryland Oh yeah! The Corolla may not be as good when compared to its competitors..However, for the features and price and value, it's not really that bad
I have a 2018 Corolla LE and with the Toyota Safety Sense, you get automatic high beams, Lane departure warning with steering wheel assist, adaptive radar cruise control, pre-collision system, as well as pre-collision system with pedestrian detection. All which is standard across all Corolla trims which is pretty nice.
Lara Said That’s awesome! Thanks for the info. Do you know if you get some sort of blind spot monitoring system as well? Or is it just the lane departure warning with steering wheel assist?
great review!! i’m seriously considering a 2017 and up corolla se for my next car! i love that they have adaptive cruise and forward collision warning standard and i have a question, i know these have a cvt but is it loud like nissan cvts?

toyota.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/7871/~/what-are-the-s-and-b-gear-shift-positions-used-for%3F That’s actually very useful, I wish I had known that when I was driving this!
Idk but probably my used Corolla LE I just purchased was customized from da 1st owner. It has an ECO feature driving when avg mpg setting. Corolla is not 4 me but it's great 4 my daughter 1st car. Da blk leather w blue trim interior sold me wit da touch screen tech. CD is plus too bc dats wat she wanted. By hold da cruise control button it will change 2 a normal cruise. I can't stand slowing dwn bc another car in front of me lol
You use too many” I thinks” to be making a video. I understand stand your not an expert but damn can you at least be confident about what year it is because I don’t want to waste time looking at the wrong year vehicle.
There are no major differences between this trim level on 2017s or 2018s. I had the car for two days and there was no way to tell which model year it was at the time I made the video.
It is garbage My Toyota 2017 XLE transmission in 39k sound like grinding or a chain spinning inside and the car not responding quickly, 52k got replaced by Toyota. I will never buy it again.
Likely because you didn’t have the software reprogram done. I am a tech at a Toyota dealership, these CVTs rarely fail. In fact I drove a 2013 Corolla with a 4 speed that was dying, only 139,000 miles.
