I just purchased a used 2018 Expedition. It is the 4" screen, and Sync 3. What needs to be done to go to the larger screen, Sync 4? Will it work with my warranty? Additionally, will this then work with my Fordpass app to then allow for remote start and other features?

Hello there, This shouldn't affect your warranty as these are Form OEM parts. Essentially you'd be upgrading your dash bezel and APIM module (preprogrammed to your VIN) and using our custom pass through wiring harness. There is no splicing or tapping of wires. To undo the upgrade, you would switch your equipment back and have the vehicle flashed by the dealership to factory. As for Fordpass, this will work with Fordpass, but if you are having issues getting signed in, just reach out to us for a tablet rental and we'll fix it for you.

@@Infotainment_nav Appreciate the response and information. I am on the website and I am not seeing this package or everything that I would need to do the upgrade? Is this something that I would be doing on my own? Or do I buy the parts and have the dealership do the install & flash as you mentioned? I would love to have the upgrade, but don't want to void warranties, etc. I am a technical person, but I don't work on cars other than an oil change or tire replacements on flats. haha

It’s a cool upgrade. Just too damn expensive. Wireless CarPlay for $1200-1300 bucks plus you gotta have give up your stock piece. Doesn’t seem like a good deal. Wireless CarPlay adapters are $50-70 for descent one. The unit I have has been near flawless.

The packages that we offer are completely factory OEM plug and play upgrades maintaining the factory integrity of the vehicle. Many of the packages that we offer will have wiring that accommodates a plug and play install without having to cut or splice the connection. The packages that require programming will come pre programmed to the vehicles VIN# and the packages that require BCM programming will come with an OBDII programmer to easily accommodate the RPO code programming while also avoiding a trip to the dealership. After market alternatives are typically more affordable. But with that comes unreliable functionality as well as factory feature loss in your vehicle including things like steering wheel controls, heated/cooled seats, cruise control, etc.

@@Infotainment_nav while you make some valid points it’s still too expensive for someone who just to gain wireless CarPlay. The dongle I use plugs into my usb-c with a cable and I just hid the “box” and it out of the way. My particular unit at least on my Ford Sync 3.4 has been flawless. Connect every time. Nothing beats OEM but for the cost I fine my solution to be much more easy on the pocket books. I also don’t like that you guys require customers to send in your old part. For as much as this upgrade cost you should be able to keep your old unit. I was going to pull the trigger on this upgrade but that was the deal breaker. Not trying to knock your service. I think you have some nice solutions especially for those upgrading from smaller screens and so forth but just some feedback. As far as aftermarket units that replace your whole head unit. Yeah those are garbage. I would never use those. My wireless CarPlay adapter is the Otto U2-Air. It’s bee flawless. Again, for $60 can’t be beat and I can take with me if I ever get rid of vehicle.
