My radar was recently stolen off of my newly purchased 2019 Honda Accord and now I’m in the process of getting it replaced. Is there a way to secure this or protect it from theft?
Holy moly dude! What the heck is happening in this world?! I know of no way to actually secure it. The only thing I can think of is using some kind of security screw to lock the unit to the car. Obviously it needs to be done by a pro who will be able to properly align it afterwards. I doubt this will stop a determined thief, but who knows? Personally, outside of booby trapping the car, I doubt anything can be done against a thief who's going after such a "specific" type of item. Sorry about all your troubles. 🥺
I live in east Tennessee but unfortunately we rarely see snow anymore due to global warming which is a bummer but knowing how to clear the warning and use the standard cruise control is good information. In my 9 months of Insight ownership I've gotten spoiled with Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist, I wouldn't want to own another car without those features.
Depends on the situation. I would have it checked by the Honda dealer to make sure you don't have a brake problem. If you're just talking about the word "Brake" flashing in the console sometimes while driving then you might be having a false brake alert from the car's safety system. This can happen for various reasons including the system mistaking shadows and such on the road at times as obstacles. There is little you can do about this since it's just a false response from an overly finicky safety system.
This did not work for me. The radar is not blocked, it is having a system issue. I was able to press and hold the button and activate cruise mode but when I press the set button it doesn’t act like old school cruise control. It basically didn’t do anything but show it is in cruise mode now.
Argh! Sounds like a stop at your local dealer might be in order. As you said it appears to be a system error so I guess we can't be surprised regular cruise didn't work either. Hope it's not too expensive a repair.
In New York thieves are stealing radar sensor which is located at the front bumper of Honda Accord 2021 .my friend has lost one yesterday dealer is asking $850 and to put in according to dealer needs software update which is extra $400 .is there any cheap way to avoid dealer ? Is it really needs software update
Do a Google search. You can probably find one from a crashed accord or one for wholesale. It looks like they go for around $200 or less used. You will need it aligned properly for it to work. That might be the "software update" they are referring to. They are definitely charging a premium.
Unfortunately issues like that need to be handled by a qualified car repair facility. It could be a faulty radar or just a misaligned radar. Without the proper tools to read the codes there is no way to tell which.
I watched the video and I ain’t paying! Honda should put a deicer on the radar like aircrafts have. Maybe we should can and sell deicing solution...haha.
