I worry about wear on those wires exposed under the seat because I don't see enough slack for the suspension to flex without straining them, but I love where they're going with this bike's balance of features and value! The better answer to class 1 vs. 2 is to make the throttle detachable. Groceries + intersections on a hill = non-negotiable on-demand/from-stand-still throttle. This is THE motor/battery for me! So powerful, quiet, and smooth! I really hope we see more using it. I would love to have options for CVT, a frame-mounted front rack, and a more secure back rack setup with a "retaining bar" accessory for cargo. I really like this bike's value proposition, though!

No throttle on such comfortable looking bike is a bummer.

they added a standard thumb throttle since 2022 and i am really considering it for my next ebike

13:40 Wow I really like that they actually make sure the bike is fully functional before shipping it out. That's one of my biggest concerns is getting a very expensive bike and it being dead on arrival. I also like how VoltBike uses hydraulic brakes, compared to RadPower bikes which use mechanical brakes. Being a heavier person (280 lbs.) and often carrying 50 lbs. in groceries, I'll definitely appreciate better stopping power. One thing I learned from owning e-bikes is you need good stopping power as you're often going at much higher speeds. You also need to replace brake pads a lot more often. The mid drive motor is also perfect for me because I like to add lights on my wheels, and the battery needs to wrap around the wheel hub. With big direct drive motors, it doesn't make that possible.

Great review thanks. Really good value for the money. Just wish they had different sizes and at least 120mm air suspensions in the front and back.

I’ve recently been interested in buying an ebike because I want to get a little exercise but my area has a lot of big hills. But after seeing how many different bikes are available, I’m overwhelmed to the point where I don’t even want one anymore. ;) Are they really that popular where everyone and their grandmother is making them? I just want something to buzz around town that gives me a little assistance and isn’t so heavy that you can’t ride it like a regular bike.

Couldn’t find a recent review on this bike. The 2020 models are now m600 from Bafang producing 500 watt and 120 Nmt. Also it’s set up as a class 3 now w/ throttle control and up to 28 mph. The monitor is about half the size and mounted in a lower position. They added the chain guide off the front crank, but removed the chain guard. Bafang had a problem with an internal plastic gear on the m600 and replaced it with a metal one but made it noisy. It’s not quite like all the reviews have stated. Hopefully they change that in 2021. The front and rear suspension is ok, but like most would rather have better. Then again this upgrade is something I’d rather do on my own than for the manufacture to put on what they want.

Just a heads up you can buy a gear that greatly reduces the noise coming from the motor. It's about 100$
@gkeller9958
@gkeller9958 3 года назад
@@drecoracing $100 for the gear and another $100 to have it installed. Think I’ll put up with the noise

Something you never comment on in your reviews is the temperature range for these bikes. Whether a user in Phoenix is going to have it explode on a 110F day (or whether the battery will only last a few months in those conditions before needing to be replaced), whether a ride in Vermont is only going to last for 20-30 minutes in the middle of winter, etc. An iPhone can't be in the sun in the American Southwest for more than a few minutes without overheating and shutting off. Car batteries have to be replaced every 1-2 years because the heat destroys them. Cordless power tool batteries that are left in the heat of the garage don't last more than one season. Solar path lights only last about 2 months before the internals of their batteries melt and they stop functioning. Temperature matters when it comes to electronics, and it's always something that I fear these companies don't think about.

That's a real good price for all. I ride bikes every single day sometimes 40 miles I'm just impressed with the battery in the price of the bike times are sure changing distance on these bikes today are amazing 👌

I have the two year old Enduro based on your previous review. I have had nothing but rave reviews of the bike. I wonder if I should upgrade to the 2020 model, which is about $200 USD more but has a 500W Bafang motor and a larger battery? I do like the adjustable stem, which mine does not have. I wonder if I can raise my stem to prevent discomfort in the back of my neck as I am straining to ride and look forward at the same time.. I just recommended Voltbike to my friend in St. Petersburg FL who wants and e-bike. Thanks for your answers and doing a great review.

I am sorry, but every E-bike should have motor cut-off on the brakes. In an emergency a kid or senior might still be moving the pedals without being aware. Thanks for the many reviews, but I think you can be little more candid about flaws/needed improvements.

Common sense in kids started taking a nose dive in the 80's. Now it's a commodity. We need to start taking warning labels off of everything and go back like in the old days and let natural selection start weeding people out.

definitely not a enduro bike. but the tyres are great handling tyres, rolls fast, and corner well. 2:43 don't take this fork off drops, I heard story from a local dude, coil & the top cap failed when he did a drop, but of course there is a sticker on the fork saying not to do extreme riding, dirt jumping,downhill,freeride, so basically enduro also goes out of the window.

Do you think this bike would be fine for going across aging and bumpy roads and sidewalks? Not a fan of feeling like my current hardtail bike is gonna launch me into orbit with sidewalk ramps. Also don't like suddenly finding out my typical routes are under construction so terrain might be bumpier than usual. I was thinking it might just be a better decision to keep a hardtail and get seat suspension.

Have you noticed how the Maxxis DHR(ear) is fitted to the front and the DHF(ront) to the rear - strange!. Also have you upgraded your camera recently - I have not followed you for a couple of months and the quality seems to have improved.

Hi, Great review I just called and ordered one, But they could not tell me if i could unlock it to go from the 20 mph to the 28? Is that something i can do on this model? Cheers, Clay

Did you try to change the speed setting?
@drecoracing
@drecoracing 3 года назад
Yeah bro you can, has nothing to do with voltbike though. Do a web search on the befang motor, there is a ton of settings you can change including speed. Take note though, you will have to purchase a USB cord that will connect to the motor, and you'll need an unlock key that you can easily find online.

not many full suspension bikes? even with bikes there are many. To name just a few: Haibike, Orange bikes, Nicolai bikes, Specialized, Cube, Scott, Trek, Mondraker, Intence cycles, Giant,Focus, Rotwild, Moustache, Thömus , there are probably a lot more.

3:44 long chain stay, so rear will be stable, not as easy to fishtail, but there is nothing enduro about this bike. those Wellgo pedals are horrible, they are tiny, and are not grippy. the Acera rear derailleur is absurd, you need a socket or wrench to tighten the wire. 6:18 at least they used dual shear pivots. and the other solutions are secure too.
