The new RS 3 is maybe more muscular and bulked up but also looks over-bodied unlike the older model. Details are also sloppier in the new model. Interior feels cheaper.

Im driving a 2020 RS3 myself, in beautifull kyalami green (standard color on the current RS3 8Y, kinda rare on the 2020 8V model though) and man I love it. Here in europe, specifically germany, the sweet spot are early 2018 models, since all cars newer than mid 2018 need a praticulate filter, that kills your pops and bangs. That beeing said, Im not even sad about not having pops, it sounds more "mature" and overall you can enjoy the pure 5pot sound more. Absolutely agree on all you said, this is my 3rd 8V gen Audi, (2014 A3, 2018 S3, now the 2020 RS3) and man I love it - The new gen just doesnt do it for me. Exterior design is way sharper on the 2020, on the new one they tried to hard in my eyes. Interior, 2020 is perfectly how I like it, minimalistic, but still all the features you need. Speaking about the tires, yes the front tires are wider, why? You got a transversley mounted engine on your front achsle, meaning your weight distribution is kinda ass and the car likes to understeer, thats why on the 8V RS3 you could opt for wider wheels in the front to minimize understeer. The middle scrren, I like it. Yeah its not the biggest, but I love the fact its not a touch screen and like you said, its kinda redundant with having the virtual cockpit. That beeing said, on the A3, you cant display carplay in the virtual cockpit, thats center screen only. That beeing said, all the the center screen does for me nowadays is display android auto and it works flawlessly. Interesting that on US models the screen doesnt go down when turning it off. On EU models it does, just like you said you wanted it.

15:20 = I change the seatinig position CONSTANTLY... when I'm just sitting waiting for someone, I chuck my seat all the way back.. nice to have electronic memory seats in my SQ5.. one push of the button and it all goes back to my preferred setting... This is CRUCIAL!!

It feels like the concept of “negative space” is being flipped on its head with regards to graphic features and visually structural bodywork. It used to be that the bodywork comprised the bulk structure and materials like mesh or chrome or black plastic were accents, but now it’s like the face of the car is those secondary materials with the bodywork being a frame or cage around them in small areas. It’s so strange. It makes it look like the face of the car is wearing a helmet or mask or something.

Hello, nice video. I have the RS3 of the same generation and when you turn the screen off while driving, the screen hides. Maybe its just the european versions or they stopped doing it later, because i have the 2018 version.

The new gen looks so much worse.. that goes for most of the lineup sadly

2018 and below the screen goes down 2019 and up they changed it because of rules and regulations didn’t allow them to lower it anymore

What a beautiful car, specwise and designwise. Sleek, and well proportioned. The only thing that needs to be changed are the wheels. everything else is on point. The new one looks like if it was overinflated and its about to pop. Audi lost its way big time with its new designs.

Well the interior is 100% better...the level of the different forms of craftsmanship, and the quality of the materials is far superior in the old car.
