I’m glad you made this video. Thank you. I now know I can easily disassemble my chrome trim on the inside and put vinyl on them to prevent the sun blinding me with the current chrome trim. Bless you brother. Thanks. ❤

Does your dash rattle now? I'd be so afraid of that. I'm trying to find a stupid rattle in my passenger side right now. Great video showing the process. No wonder they charge an arm and a leg for this

The last panel you take off (the one by the drivers leg area) does that have to come off last, trying to install a switch by the parking brake button but don't wanna take apart the entire dash, just the leg panel

Awesome video. exactly what I was searching for. I'm looking to put a bulkhead usb connector into the little dash top tray (sunglass or whatever its for) to run power to a dash cam/phone etc. Its a little hard to tell from the video if there is room directly underneath the dash at that point for such an item. is there a bit of room under the little tray from what you saw?

Did you ever get this done? I’m looking to put a bullet point mount systme in the dash cubby and add two usb ports. Hesitant to drill through but wondering how much room there is behind the radio and under the storage hole.

@@frup13 Heya, so I am also using a bulletpoint mount system. I decided I didn't want to put a few one inch holes in the dash under or forward of it so I decided to design a mount bracket for the usb's and in my case a RJ45 for a ham radio head unit and some additional power ports (anderson power poles). I had it fabricated in 14 gauge steel by an online company and powder coated. I have not done the wiring yet though. I am also going to install the GM upfitter 5 aux switch panel (gm part that gives you 5 switches next to the parking break) and want to do all the wiring once so I don't have to rip the dash apart multiple times. I have a 2021 trailboss. this way I can just poke a small hole for the wires and terminate them once through (or at least you just poke 1 hole the size of a usb end and I'm 99.9% sure a couple of usb cables running up the middle from the center console will be no problem. I have pictures of the mount here www.playdead.net/bulletpoint/ I added mounting holes to the top of the bracket with the idea that down the road I might put a dash cam in and then will design a bracket to mount to the holes. The center cutout is there specifically to not block the center screw of the bulletpoint but also big enough to let a usb cable go through if desired for whatever reason. if you're interested, it would be pretty simple for me to do just a 2 USB design and get you the files and instructions for a fab company (i've been using oshcut and sendcutsend depending on the part). you can email me at chris AT playdead.net if you are. take care!
