I finally got my 22' LT1 two days ago, and here is my personal opinion. Visibility is really not that bad like a lot of people say it is. Just make sure you adjust your seats and mirrors to where you are comfortable with, it goes a long way! Back seats are obviously going to be tight as it is a muscle car, but people under 5'7 can fit comfortably back there. Gas well obviously it's a muscle car, it's going to be expensive! Im a 5'7 male 175Lbs and have no problems driving mine! My family members are pretty short as well so I don't really have any issues getting them as passengers. But that rarely happens. It's mainly just me and my girlfriend that rides the car. I can fit pretty comfortably at the back seats too! Just a pro tip: If you consider getting this car especially for a daily driver, make sure you know what you're getting yourself into first before going to the dealership. Does it fit your "lifestyle?" And obviously for this type of car, mostly everything is going to ge expensive. Maintenance, Gas, Etc. But at the end of the day, all thos just depends on how you treat the car. If you drive like a psycopath everytime, then ofc it's going to be expensive! Treat it will and she will treat you even better! 😎
I've had my 2021 LT1 auto 10 speed for half a year now. Love this car man, such a blast to daily drive. Highway mpg is crazy good. It goes down to 4 cylinders when cruising
I love my 2020 LT1. I got the upgraded entertainment package with larger infotainment screen, red trim inside, sunroof and Brembo brakes all black and absolutely love this vehicle. It is one of the best sleeper vehicles imo. So many people roll up thinking it's a 4 banger or V6. I daily drove it this past year. Swapped out the rims and put some basic LS rims with Bridgestone blizzaks and it did well for me in crappy weather conditions driving back and forth between Ontario and Michigan this past winter. Best bang for your buck when it comes to HP.
Sounds awesome man I really love this car too. I had the blizzaks on a mustang I had a few years back for the winter too, and I’m probably going to be throwing some sticky’s on my LT1 in the upcoming months. I’m very impressed with GM overall and hope you enjoy the car! Thanks for the support Justin!
Thanks for the comment. I’ve been wondering I could get a LS and use it as my daily down here in Missouri. Looks like my two biggest concerns is that I’ll have to be driving on Illinois roads to work (horrible quality) and if I should get a manual or auto.
Good review, thanks! Just one comment: the windows are, in fact, tinted. Not the dark, aftermarket style tint but the regular greenish tint that GM has used for decades, which used to be called "Cool Ray Tinted Glass."
Good job brother. A little tip for you. Since they put the 12v plug in a stupid place for the radar detector the cable always hangs down. I suggest you tuck the cord in along the right side of the center console. It will hide it alot and get it out of your way and the passengers way. Nice car. I have the same color convertible
I think my cord is a little too thick and keeps popping out when I try to tuck it, but it really doesn’t bother me lol I usually forget that it’s even there. Gm should’ve definitely found a better spot for the 12v but not a big deal. Awesome channel too tho I really appreciate your comment and support!
Great review! I got a LT1 6 months ago and I am loving it. I have left mine in sport mode and I noticed on road trips it still uses cylinder deactivation. Is that a glitch or do you think it just starts when your not on it?
I think cylinder deactivation still works in sport, but it has a different algorithm or something so it’s far less inclined to actually be in 4 cylinder mode while in sport. My lt1 stays in v8 mode unless I’m off the gas for at least 5-10 seconds if even that in sport mode. In tour, it can switch to 4cyl mid acceleration if you’re accelerating lightly enough. At least for my car. Thanks for the comment!
hey i have a little doubt can i get the digital rear veiw mirror on lt1 like the rear mirror on 2ss an accessory on lt1 or 1ss cause my budget is 40k anything more than that im not prepared i love the lt1 for my budget but at an extra price i want that digital rear veiw mirror if possible so i can have little peace of mind
Just bought 2021 LT RS yesterday. Love it. I’m a little iffy about the shifting on the steering wheel, it’s a little weird to me but I’ll get used to it.
Just to be helpful. That scented liquid clipper on your vent is very acidic, and it will melt and destroy the plastic around it. Speaking from experience. It's best to get the scented ornament with the string that hangs around the mirror. You and your car will appreciate it.
Good to know man appreciate your input! I just had a box of these laying around the house so ive just been using them until they run out lol I’ll definitely switch it up tho!
A little late to the party, but if you have or get the kind that hang from your mirror, don't let them come in to contact with anything plastic on hot days for long periods of time. They too can melt/warp plastic. Also speaking from experience lol
Understandable.. basically all the vehicles I’ve owned and reviewed on this channel have had very numb electric steering so I personally find it relatively engaging compared to most cars I’ve driven. Hope you enjoy the car man thank you for the support!
@@WTFCRLT1 the camaro electric steering is actually pretty good. I've driven a BMW M235 and porsche 991 and the camaro is better. In my opinion there is decent feel and the rack is fast. It's such a great performance value . If it was a tad more practical it would probably sell better than the stang. I have no idea how GM engineered a car this big with a tiny trunk and unusable rear seat lol. But hey, it rips!
I like the sport mode feel really. Use it 90% of the time. Not too twitchy and good feedback! However if I'm just cruising highway and want to relax the touring mode allows for less steering corrections. It's good to have both options.
@@mastoslayerica The trunk space isn't actually that bad; it's the small *opening* that handicaps the trunk. How could the designer have thought that was acceptable? A larger trunk opening and the roof another 2" taller, and the car would be a lot more livable (as a 2-seater).
Thank you! There’s really no space back there for anyone besides children, but I’ll have another video about this car soon, and I’ll make sure to bring the camera over to the back seat!
No true hand break. It’s all electronic. I believe I showed a brief demo of the process in my video about this cars infotainment and acceleration timer
Nah I don’t. I’d get that checked out hopefully somethings just a little loose. Only think I’ve noticed is that there is a weird wind noise at high speeds at the top of my windshield and it sounds pretty weird in the rain haha.
I’ll show you in the next vid that the heat extractor has a smart design where the water is led where it’s safe. Nowhere near the intake or any electronics. I haven’t had any issues but I understand the concern haha I was thinking the same thing.
My msrp was also up around there. Out the door it was significantly less.. less than what the 2020’s are blue booking for right now and it wasn’t a demo or anything. I was initially planning on special ordering a 6-speed manual, but I couldn’t pass on this deal. It’s an unbelievable car, especially for the money and I hope you enjoy it! I really appreciate the support thank you!
Nice review of the interior, and infotainment. One other thing that's worth mentioning is : There's a deceiving amount of front passenger room in this car. A friend of mine had recently picked up a '21 1SS 6-Speed and asked if I wanted to take it for a spin. I'm a big boy (6' 1" and about 340 pounds). This same friend previously had a 5th Gen Camaro RS (traded that in for said '21 1SS), and you needed a damn shoehorn to get me into that 5th Gen! So, when my buddy asked if I wanted to drive his 6th Gen 1SS I laughed and said "I could barely fit your old one as a passenger!". He said "Just try it, you might be surprised". So, I did - And boy am I glad I did! I don't know wtf GM engineers did between the 5th Gen and 6th Gen to that Camaro interior seating wise, but it's a completely different car. I fit into the damn thing no problem! So, I drove it, and of course loved it. 3rd and 4th gear pulls on that 6-Speed Tremec are incredible! After that "test drive", I started doing some research on the 6th Gen Camaro. Once I found out about the LT1 trim (it has the same 10-way power driver's seat that the 1SS does, which helps a ton with passenger room) I started looking around for one, and found a dealer about 250 miles away that had two 6-Speed Manual LT1's with no options (literally $0.00 in options). This was in December of 2020 in the Northeast United States (Winter time, basically when NOBODY is buying a car like this). Then, when I checked dealer's site about a week later, they had discounted one of them down to $29,000.00... that was all I needed to see. Called the dealer, and got a quote to lock the price in. I asked a buddy to drive down with me, bought the thing, and he followed me back home in the Camaro (I figured it would be a nice gesture to let him drive it since he was nice enough to smoke his whole day for somebody else to buy a car!). I feel like I got incredibly lucky, because I still haven't seen one listed for sale as cheap as I got mine over 6 months later. Once I got past the 1500 mile break-in period (it was *VERY* hard to keep that thing under 4,000 RPM and 80MPH for 1500 miles!), the fun started :) In your video, it was interesting to see the differences between your Automatic and my Manual. My manual doesn't have any cylinder deactivation, but it gets around the Gaz Guzzler tax by using GM's dreaded 1st-to-4th "Skip Shift", similar to what they do in the manual Corvettes. Once the warranty is up on my car, Skip Shift will be promptly removed! I also don't have the active exhaust, so all the options for that stuff are greyed out in my infotainment menu. Like you, I pretty much keep the car in Touring mode. Really, I'm not sure what "Sport Mode" would do in my No-Option car other than firm up the steering, maybe change the throttle response a little. But yea, the LT1 is a fantastic trim - You get the drivetrain from the 1SS without all the Bells & Whistles that drive up the cost of the 1SS. I'm glad GM still make trim models like this, as there are still some of us out there that want a basic car with a big ass engine! Enjoy the car, I know I'll be enjoying mine!
Have a '19 1SS A10. It's seriously a beast. I paid $35K new for it. Only negative is gas mileage but even that isn't atrocious especially on the hwy (upper 20s). Sport mode has heavier steering. LT1 wasn't around when I bought mine, I may have gotten an LT1 if it was, if I could have gotten one for $32K...etc. Either way, if anyone test drives any variation of Camaro with the 6.2L, you'll come away impressed. It feels almost like a super car for regular $.
Sounds like a great deal! The 19’s will probably hold value the best long term thanks to the front end haha hope you enjoy the car and appreciate the comment!
@@WTFCRLT1 May hated the front end. I didn't love it and like the 2020+ front end better. But I have shadow gray and black flowtie actually looks pretty cool with the gray. Overall the car looks great....so wasn't an issue for me. Was more about the perfomance. Enjoy your LT1 (great color combo).....hard not to! :)
Parking face first is a little weird until you understand the dimensions of the car (which doesn’t take long). Backing in, I see everything behind me perfectly fine without even using the backup camera. However since the rear end flares out quite a bit, it’s a little tougher to see your actual wheels through your mirrors compared to most cars. All in all, I haven’t had any issues you just gotta pay a little more attention, which honestly makes the car even more exciting in my opinion. Hope that answers your question!
Yea WTF has it right. It takes getting used to then you're ok. Back up camera is a blessing. Blind spots are large so your mirrors should be angled out super super wide. Yea I personally can't think of any other sports car that has worse visibility that's not a race car.... but I love it just for that.... you kinda feel like you're in a stock car. Non issue.
Thank you for your input I really appreciate your support! It’s an incredible car! I don’t personally mind the cluster, however I definitely agree that’s it’s cooler on the SS.
Yes it should. Maybe slightly lower since it’s a tad heavier but it’ll be basically the same if you get the 10 speed auto with cylinder deactivation. Thanks for the comment!
@@WTFCRLT1 wow thank you for replying so fast bro. I've been literally eyeballing this car for 10 months, been rewatching your vids lol. Nice car review too btw
This car wasn’t special ordered. If I would’ve ordered it, I would have skipped all options besides the NPP exhaust and kept the manual. But would’ve ended up paying A LOT more than I did for this car. There’s a lot more to buying a car than it’s msrp. Availability and lot time has a lot to do with the deal you can ultimately get. I can make a video about payments and stuff If people are interested. Thanks for the support!
Your video is good, but trying to have fewer fingers in the video. We understand everything that you are telling, just try to keep your hands in the frame less. And take another camera, which did not distort the objects that you shoot so much)) Thanks for the review!
I love everything about the new camaro aside from the chopped style roof. Visibility and headroom are terrible and I’m only 5’11”. It’s not like I’m a dang Sasquatch.
Nice review. It's nice that the Mustang hasn't stopped production since the beginnings and outlasted them all. Too bad no other American muscle car can make the same claim. Update: Chevy just recently announced that the 2023 Camaro will be the last year of production largely due to low sales. Hmmm, wasn't that the same reason why they cut production twenty some-odd years ago for only a thirteen year comeback (2010)?
Yeah but the mustang is literally the only car Ford makes anymore, not the case with Chevrolet. Ford discontinued the fusion and the focus a couple years ago. That’s why you can buy mustangs with 4 bangers now. Because that’s literally their economy car.
@@nephilymbass1 So?? Off topic and Chevy only sells boring passenger cars and cant compete with the Mustang? Implying economy car? Tell economy car to a new Mach ONE Mustang that will beat BMW's and Porsches for half the price
Both are great cars with similar standard features, but the LT1 handles a lot better while also undercutting the scat packs price tag by quite a bit. If overall space isn’t a serious concern, it’s a no brainer to me.. Thank you for the support!
@@beastlaser9611 yes currently have a scatpack because I wanted more space. Used to have a 2019 camaro ss a10 and I can confirm the camaro was much faster. Better driving experience as well just hugs the road.
You won’t regret it. The camaro is not only cheaper, but it’s also better than a scat pack in pretty much every way. Faster, handles better and probably more reliable.
I’m in love with camaro’s exterior design.. BUT…..! I’ll buy it only if it’s made by Germans! They have the secret to do the best technological-artistic-designed machines .. you step inside and you’re blown away !! You’ll never say .. yes .. but I don’t like this or that .. you love it and every single new day you’re convinced and impressed by any detail (from engine power to inside little objects and how they work.. A German car makes you understand what’s the meaning of a high end use of a human brain .. means a German brain lol.
Until it breaks down after a couple years and the repair bills are insane. Everyone i know spends way too much on repairs. But if you’re has been reliable then hats off to you.
Yes, that’s the 9 speaker Bose system with a subwoofer. The LT1 comes standard with the 7 inch touch screen with 6 speaker Bose sound system without subwoofer. Surprisingly strong system for a base model! I was surprised that it was a Bose system too since it’s unlabeled, but on Chevrolet’s website it says Bose so I just went with it lol
I have the 2020 LT1 and the speakers are not good at all. I mean I can't hear any bass and the clarity is nothing to write home about. Not that it had any bearing on my purchase of this bad ass vehicle but dude my speakers do suck. Glad yours sounds good in the 2021 tho!
@@Chad_7777 now that’s actually super surprising to hear. The sound system was one of my biggest surprises in this car tbh. I haven’t looked into if they changed the speakers for 2021 I just assumed that they kept them the same. Maybe check out your tuning settings? I’m sure you have but compared to the 500 watt systems with subs in the explorer platinum and MDX I reviewed, my system honestly sounds no worse with its smaller cabin. A little less bass obviously since it doesn’t have subs but shockingly close.
For 2k more you could have had the SS. Just sayin...the way more stylish front fascia, the better infotainment screen, 1" wider rear wheels, painted rear caliper (if option added to SS) and a much nicer looking dash cluster on the SS is so worth the extra $2k. Only downside is the SS is roughly 90 lbs heavier, but in the real world, that's meaningless.
It’s closer to $4k and for a lease, often times they were close to double what I pay for the LT1. Money was one of my top concerns tbh and the ss was never really a consideration since it’s more expensive than the mustang gt base. You definitely get way more car for the money, but it was never in my price range if that makes any sense haha next car should be a little different!
@@WTFCRLT1 I just ordered yesterday a '22 1SS. Dealer tried to submit my '21 order in Crush but GM locked them out of it. Only '22's being ordered now...went with white since '21 was the last year for Crush. It'll be my 4th Camaro. Luckily I can swing it financially, hopefully someday you'll also be able to do so. Didn't mean to come of as critical with my comment, I liked your video and respect your choices.
Don’t ever mention how fast you’re going to whatever showing it by your free if RU-vid has a I think about people speeding over the limits so he just need to keep your make all the noise but just don’t make you how fast she go on RU-vid doesn’t like the
lmfao ford has a far better car then the camaro or the dodge cars fords coyote is fully forged and handles 1000 hp easy a bolt on 10 speed coyote runs with hellcats smh lost souls
It’s definitely more fun haha can’t argue that but there weren’t any 6-speeds at dealerships near me so I would’ve had to special order the car, and didn’t wanna spend more than I had to since I just graduated college and don’t really have any money. Appreciate your comment!
