@mattgray6436 Absolutely!! Fords are fastest trucks out right now at least until the Ram RHO comes out. That'll be a pretty interesting truck to see in action.
@aaronkowalewski659 The ram will obviously win. Dodge always tends to have a fastest car (wether it's compact SUV's(hornet), sedans(charger), SUV's(Durango, BOTH the 392 and hellcat), coupes (demon, demon 170, hellcat(unless it's the gt500 which is a beast) and then trucks of course w/ the TRX and now the Ram. Ram will obviously ensure they have the fastest truck and a better interior. Those new GMC's have a great balance though! Best truck interior right now no doubt!
@@roboticvenom1935 ford escape st is faster than the hornet. A 392 dodge vs ford gt mustang and the mustang wins too. The raptor r now has more power than the trx ever had and boasts a faster quarter mile. And for the ford super duty it absolutely walks the ram heavy duty trucks. At least ford still makes a v8
@@sublime929 yeah...and the brakes released....just wondering how the one in the background was turning though...if there was no wind? So why aren't they turning? I will wait smart guy.
The fuel economy is great, but the problems with the emissions on diesels since they went to DEF a decade ago SUCK and that's why my new Ford has a 7.3 Godzilla engine, instead of the 6.7 Power Stroke.
What these diesel guys are doing now with programs and bigger turbos is absolutely insane. I've seen farm trucks smoke new vettes and hellcats on the drag strip. There's only about 100 videos of it online if people want to check it out themselves. Yeah it's a truck but you can still work in it and smoke a muscle car. Not a bad combination
To make race fair, put a toyota yaris GR in the trunk/cargo space of that Tundra 😂.. That is the weight difference between those two. That way also fuel consumption will be DOUBLE as was it in empty cargo version for toyota tundra 😂
@@marcohinojosa4348 it's similar price tag big trucks, that was the subject. Tacome does not exist with v8 turbo, then n/a version is weaker than v6 biturbo.
yeah it really sucks when it does it. If you actually launch it right the truck sometimes decides hello must pull power sometimes its like he said it bogs it makes you feel like its a delayed shift so you're not smacking gears with 1050-1200 depending on the PS you have. A tune fixed that issue. My dually 2021 went from 15.5-15.7 in the quarter too 13.8s with no extra power. Just removed the delayed throttle and got rid of the TQ limitation these trucks haul for what they are literally can haul and haul theyre insane
now hook up a 10k load on the diesels and you will see a decisive pull. Ford uses torque management on the first 3 gears (not certain on GMC) but in the mountains when towing the 1200ft lbs is where we need it.
❤I expected that the Toyota Tundra would win. It is true that the Ford and the Sierra have more horsepower and more torque, but they are three times heavier than the Tundra, because the Tundra is lighter than them, a difference of more than 300 kilograms, and it is closer to the ground than the Sierra and the Ford F-150. This gives you more aerodynamics, but In the end, they are cars that are not designed for drag racing. They are not suitable for rough and difficult roads, towing, and loading things.
Most people don’t buy long box crew cab 2500s as “pavement queens” whatever that means. These aren’t off-road trucks so they’ll spend their lives on the road pulling trailers and hauling heavy.
63 miles isn't nearly enough to test mpg. A simple stop or slow down could greatly impact the results. A diesel engine could go into regen mode and greatly impact the results. Take it with a grain of salt.
So the Ford won efficiency, power and torque AND just lost to the much lighter and gas powered twin turbo V6 half ton? I think it's the real winner here today.
Not really a fair comparison. Why did you use high output powerstroke instead of the regular powerstroke? The price for the regular powerstroke and duramax are the same. The high output powerstroke is $3000 more.
Lots of hurt feelings here lol…I don’t even like the Tundra but I’m darn impressed that it out-accelerates both of these beasts with double + the torque with the standard engine.
@@FastTimes75 True, def not an apples to apples comparison but it's still impressive that the tundra walks away from both of them... The Ford in particular, with its 1200 lb/ft of torque. Not an indictment against the Ford, just impressed the Toyota is able to pull away with essentially the base engine setup. I still wouldn't buy the tundra over any of the domestic trucks, but the engine is impressive, nonetheless. Disclaimer - I own a '20 F150 3.5 EB Platinum, if that tells you anything. I am just a spectator here, no skin in this game haha.
Sam please race the Jeep Grand Wagoneer 6.4 engine against Toyota Sequoia hybrid Maxx engine and Ford Expedition Timberline. We want to see who's the fastest?
It's true I remember watching his other videos were the MDX races against the BMW X5 and it's close. I beat the same BMW in my 2023 Tundra with TRD air filters and Carven exhaust from a dig 3 times and I had the family in the truck😂
Yeah let's not fool ourselves the only reason why the Toyota's winning because it has Turbo it didn't have the turbo it would still be at the line when the Ford finished and if the Ford had Turbo the Toyota would still be at the line by the time the Ford finished plus those new Toyota Tacomas they're blowing engines like they're going out of style good old scrapota!!!!!
Something doesnt add up right lol you guys have the tundra winning by a truck but they both went 0-60 in 5.6 and they both run a 14.2 best times? That makes no sense at all. I actually drag race.
Who's impressed that the Ford with more HP, and almost 300 more lb foot of torque was only able to manage a vehicle length win.....yeah that Toyota should easily win
Not gonna lie,I never expected the toyota to be competitive given the weight to torque ratio among these 3 beasts. This test shows that weight to horsepower ratio still matters. I also think if a 5000 pound trailer is added to each of these the Tundra would likely not win due to less torque. Was an interesting match up. Imagine if it was the hybrid Max
Sam I seriously think the the tundra should be against the f150 and 1500 class trucks, not 2500, BUT I like this review and also amazing to see that the biggest truck got the best mileage.
the tundra technically is not even a 1500 it can't tow or haul what they do , why compare the tundra to a real work truck? Toyota tundra chassis is not even close . it's like comparing a 2x4 to a wet noodle. look up frame deflection. the tundra has a place in trucks more towards the homeowner end.rental companies also limit the Toyota to a total of 7k pounds because brakes have failed on them with more.compare it to 1500 trucks.
The extra weight that the Powerstroke F250 has over the Tundra matters very little when you have 1200 ft-lbs of torque turbo diesel so it’s not the reason it lost, Tundra beat it fair and square and it should. With that said the HO Powerstroke is unbelievable and crazy that it was that close. I say it was a great race for the F250
