1. Mix gelatin in foods/smoothies 2. Take gelatin supplements 3. Use gelatin hair masks topically to strengthen hair (e.g DIY masks from Naptural85) Thanks for the tips!
My hair has thinned and is falling out. I am also losing my curl which I never appreciated when I was younger. Now I pray that I find a way to bring it back.
@@addubhat I've been using it for decades.Nails shoot out in 24 hours !(seems like) But...the toenails grow so fast I really have to keep trimming them down. Hair hasn't really grown that much except for those odd facial hairs we older ladies want to get rid of. Hope that helps.
Right now it’s maintaining my routine! Recently became a full time one woman show caregiver! It’s all so crazy that my natural hair care routine has gone out the window! I used to be consistent with wash day and moisturizing and now CHAOS+ STRESS! Your recent video on stress+ hair was SUPER HELPFUL! I’m drinking tea trying to do self care doing the Bible verses and all about sleeping exercise and nutrition! I’m going to your Amazon page for those gelatin supplements! Thank you this channel you and the community you’ve created are a GODSEND!
@@RedSapphires I’m drinking green tea decaf and literally any other herbal tea! I love hibiscus (and it’s supposed to be good for blood pressure) I found several herbals with turmeric that are delicious and turmeric is anti inflammatory! I get all my teas at Publix or Winn-Dixie so this doesn’t have to be expensive! Just found a ginger/mint one in the international foods (next to Jamaican and Caribbean foods) and BOTH of those herbs are good for stress AND digestion. Thank you for your sweet comment and have a cup!

Hello Shan76 how is the Atlanta, onion juice working for u? I heard they r really good and helps to promote hair growth. Let me know how it's going for u. TJeff
Hey curly chemistry girl, thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. I want to go natural. I just retired and have been wearing weave for years because I’m in menopause and it just … easier. But now I don’t have to look ‘like a corporate women’. Yes .. I’m free of that. Your suggestions would be most helpful
Find a very good hair dresser. One that's actually knowledgeable. When I grew my relaxer out, my hair dresser would wash and condition my hair every two weeks. Then she would braid. She knew what my hair NEEDED. Either moisture, protein, mask, etc. My hair was so healthy! I miss her so much bc she was PROFESSIONAL which is very hard to find today.
Great video. For me, 20 years worth of excessive shedding. Already been to multiple experts, got all my nutritional levels good, using multiple treatments (redlight/laser, spironilactone, oral monoxidil, melotonin), hair still shedding. Very draining.
I hope this message finds you well and growing ;-) My name's Rico and I am seeking some help with the frizziness of my hair, especially in the morning. I am a white male, 75 y.0. and have hair down below my shoulder blades. My hair is thinning on top and thick in the back. I believe its typical male pattern baldness. I stopped with routine haircuts about 15 months ago and want to grow my wavy hair as long as possible. I also want to encourage my wavy curly style more so than trying to get my hair straighter. I use Bumble & Bumble hair products as well as Olaplex products. Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, moisturizing masks, and pre shampoo treatment. It generally makes my hair feel better, less frizzy for the first few days but never more. I also add argon oil, light almond oil, jojoba, fractured coconut, and castor oils to my hair which helps reduce the dry and frizziness of my hair. I am about to start eating something with Knox gelatin that I can make in the kitchen. Question one is .... how much gelatin should I consume daily ??? And how long before I can expect to see results/improvement in my hair condition ? And I suppose my other question is directed towards the products and routine I am currentl;y using. BTW, I shampoo/condition/mask maybe twice a week but never more. I want to get my hair from knotting and breaking every morning when I run just my fingers thru it. Any suggestions from you are welcome. AND I guess its ok to add ... I think you are ADORABLE !!!!!! Warm regards, R.
Warm Greetings!! May I ask, do you ever detox your hair with a detox or clarifying shampoo? Sometimes our hair needs a good detox from all the products built up on the hair strands. Which could cause a number of things (shedding, thinning)Also, you could use a protein treatment. I would just research the information on my suggestion. I pray this helps. It'll also help if you could find out the porosity of your hair. Blessings and more hair!!!❤
Hello! I have some thinning areas in my middle part and on my edges. I have purchased a laser cap and a hair growth oil to combat it. I also am making sure I get the right nutrients in my system to promote hair growth. I think I'll add the gelatin to the mix. Thanks for sharing!
@@nubian5385 Hello! I have seen pretty good results. My thinning middle part has grown in some with the laser cap. I definitely have not worsened or widened in the area. Staying the same is a win for me!
Hello, thank you for your tips! You don’t understand how much your knowledge has blessed me and my family! I was wondering if you could make a video liking your natural hair. I really think black women have a hard time loving their hair. Thank you again! God bless you!
Thanks so much for your clear, concise information. Love your personality! Constructive feedback: The level of the music, for me, is at a perfect place-not too loud. But the music itself, for me personally, is a bit anxiety producing and distracting. Kind of like the sound at the beginning of a news story. If you look at your videos as a mini science class, usually, one would not have competing sounds in the background. Perhaps something that is a little more relaxed. 🤷🏽♀️ I tried to make comment in the most respectful positive way. 💕🙏🏽💕
Thanks Nia, I haven’t received any feedback on the music choice before. If I start to receive more concerns around the music selection, I’ll definitely consider changing it.
Thanks so much for sharing this video, love your content. My goal for my hair is more growth and rentention, Love gelatin, will definitely put this to work for me. God and stay safe 🙏🏾🥰❣️
Hello Queen “ Thank you so much for your knowledge and support.I went natural about 3yrs ago hair was thick and hard to detangle after washing no matter what i use after it was dry and brittle,Over the years i kept it washed and conditioned braided, flat iron maybe 5-6 times i was getting advice from my beauty supply store people one suggested i get a texturizer so i started using Aphogee and followed instructions i did about 4-5 in theses 3yrs each time my hair thinned out, looking to stop breakage and obtain some thickness back. Please help you have already been helpful.Thank You ❤
There’s a fascia restoration tool called the Fasciablaster that stimulates the growth of hair naturally. They have a wide range of tools and smaller tools are great for reaching the scalp. If you try it, take pictures before you start using them so you can see the results.
I am scruggling with Sehboroic excema on my scalp since 20 years, using "Ketoconazol" to suppress it. Will try now taking internaly Gelatine + NAC and external selfmade hairwater with Artemisia annua + DMSO and hope to kill it off. Also need to stop Coffee & Smoking, start exsersize and heal my guts and chronic gastritis.
My current struggle: adjusting to hair shedding post kidney transplant surgery. It's gotten thin and broken off quite a bit. Can't retain length nor do I have the fullness I used to due to medications.
I mix a big spoonful of flavorless beef gelatin in my coffee every day. Along with 5mg of creatine and a small pour of vanilla creamer. The gelatin and creatine don't affect the taste. It's in one of the 4 cup Yeties.
Thank you so much! Lots of great info and I appreciate that you gave credit to the other RU-vidr for the hair mask. 💐 For all the ladies with PCOS, facial hair, or those in menopause - you are probably struggling with hair loss too and possibly also insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome. To help all that, please research Myo-inositol (about 2-4 grams per day) and consult your doctor as well to make sure it's not clashing with any medications you might be currently taking. From my ❤ to yours!
Dry split ends. It is a struggle but it is also my fault. I have been doing a “One and done” after wash day application. That is after a wash, just using a styling cream. By day 3 my hair feels dry and in need for a wash. New regimen is adding deep conditioning every two weeks (adding Olive oil as needed)with a steam cap. Using a leave in, then a styler and lock with a sealing oil like jojoba. Refresh daily with a bit of water.
Hi! It sounds too good to be true. After BC and chemo my hair came back like Kleenex😢 I am grateful for what I have and if I could have a little thicker than Kleenex I want Paper towel ! Seriously, I would be so grateful💯🙏🥹
I am struggling with hair growth. Maintaining length I think is my issue. Also, finding right product. Please advise🥰🥰🥰. Also, I love your channel and your spirit🥰
Definitely the thing I struggle with the most is retention! I do allll the things yet still get split ends so often I have to trim any length I get. I’m mixed and my hair is a mix of 2c/3a type curls. My hair is fine and soft strands, never dyed, but I have a decently thick head of hair. Anyway idk why they’re always breaking! I only use low heat once a week. Sleep on a silk pillowcase ect ect ect
@@aeriii4681 It's definately the porosity for me. More tangles, less shiny, broken easely. Wash days are hard because you have to be extra gentle . And a little too much protein and the breakage goes x5 . Also check if you hair isn't protein overloaded .
Have you tried dietary supplements? Vitamin B complex, A, C, and MSM have worked best for me. Also try bond builders like K18 and Olaplex if you haven’t already.
Don’t try k18 it’s expensive and doesn’t work! Before going blond my hair was about at my waist. My routine included multi vitamins, collagen and Olaplex # 2 or (3 if I could get 2). I washe every 2-3 days cause I cannot stand dirty hair and use deep conditioner almost every time. I change my conditioners ever so often because they lose their effect on my but at that time Aussie 3 min miracle and Macadamia Oil were my go tos. I blow dry and straightened my hair everytime I wash and straighten in between washes as well and always colored my hair various shades of brown/red yet my hair grew very well. Also I used to do a trim every 2-3 months. I have a confusing mix of type 3b/c 4a hair I think.
Thank you for this!!! I know this next question is off topic, but what do you think about The Inkey List hair products? I was looking at 3 of them: the peptide volumizing hair treatment, the glycolic exfoliating scalp scrub, and the caffeine simulating scalp treatment. There are others but I thought about those mainly.
Thank you for your great video.I am a mother of a teenage girl who has PCOS and unfortunately has hair loss especially this time of the year.Although she is taking supplements the hair loss is devastating.Could you please inform me if gelatin helps with the thickness of the hair too?Thank you in advance.
I am 68. I’m struggling with hair shedding the last three months. The last time this happened is when I was pregnant at 24. It is very disconcerning. I started doing Knox gelatin one package 1 tablespoon mixed in water A few weeks ago, going to keep it up I’m hoping this is not permanent, Also, was diagnosed with low thyroid 6 months ago
I want my hair to grow faster and it has some frizz but the frizz has gotten a lot better. I take one a day women's vitamin plus vitamin d gummies and a biotin supplement and have started eating healthier too
About 3-4 years ago, I started taking thyroid medication and saw a huge thinning of my hair! Do you think the gelatin would help with hair loss/thinning? Are there other things I should try? thanks for all your information and work!
Hormonal disruption is a hard factor to combat because you have to be consistent with your medication yet some can cause hair loss on top of already disrupted hormones- so it’s like a catch-22. Perhaps ask your doctor for other options. I do recommend onion juice treatments with garlic, that may help. There’s plenty of videos on here for different methods. Good luck!
Another tasty way to take gelatin might be to make and drink bone broths. Specifically from pigs, as their skin contains loads of gelatin and also collagen. I bought a pressure cooker just to experiment with that. Will keep you guys updated, hihi! My current struggle is.... Humidity. I can have a great wash day, go outside and get depressed lol. Avoiding humectants like glycerin seems to help a bit. I'm also just wearing beanies out. The crazy frizz i get otherwise results in LOTS of tangles and excess shedding and ain't nobody got time for those!
My problem is still my hair frizziness. Its for me a big issue. The Netherlands has a very humid climate. Its killing for me. I dont know what to do....
Heyo fellow Dutchie! Do your products contain glycerin? Mine did, and switching to other products seemed to help a bit I'm also gonna try the Keracare anti humectant oil spray somewhere down the line - and there are other products out there like that possibly of interest to you And... Wearing beanies outside. Not as fun but it helps a little bit It sucks doesn't it? Echt vervelend 🤣🤭 Veel succes en fijne dag!
When add to smothie it become so thick that you must eat it with a spoon ! I hope you gave more details like what is the perfect amount to daily consume And can we take it in a powder form like sprinkle it over food like we do with shea seed And also if we use it topically on hair and scalp in diy, will the hair really benift from it or thats only a waste of money
I am seriously struggling with dull hair and hair growth. It seems no matter what I do I tend to get less than a quarter an inch of hair growth a month and my hair is so dull yet I am eating healthy taking lots of water and use natural oils and herbs on my hair
My problem is having one side of my hair longer and thicker than the other. It just happens that it’s the side I sleep on is the longer, thicker side. I try to give the weaker extra TLC. So my hands are tied so please help if you can
Hi, Curly 😊 I love your scientific approach and the scientific info you're telling us! For the life of me, though, I could barely hear 🙉 you on this one. Crazy 😜 about your content.❤
Hi question please 🙏 I made gelatin gel, and I was wondering what the long-term effects will be on my curls if I use it with every wash day to style. I wash my hair twice a week. Would really appreciate your feedback as I can't find any information on here.
My problem is shedding. I am anemic and when my iron gets low the shedding gets worse. I have started taking gelatin and collagen supplements. I've noticed my joints feel better but I haven't noticed anything with my hair.
Thank you for this very helpful info on gelatin. My problem is no matter how much time I spend on wash day, shampooing, deep conditioning, etc., the next day I still need to wet my hair a lot in order to get it to just lay down. I marvel how others can go 2, 3 ,4 or more days before they have to refresh. What am I doing wrong???
My hair is literally falling out and I don’t know why😢 it’s never done this granted my hair is full of split ends I cut mostly hair off because the damage was so intense but my hair falls out as I run my hands through. I’m trying aloe Vera from the plant to my head it’s only been a few days. I will try to keep my hair covered at night and moisturizer and the gelatin both ingested and topically
My struggle is consistency and finding the best sealant that doesn't keep my hair greasy for days. I tried oils, but it doesn't work (hair feels dry). I have used grease and butters, but my hair feels greasy for days (maybe I'm using too much. Everyone stay blessed and healthy ✝️🙏🛐. P.S. any advice?🤗
Some people take foti extract in a tea, I would definitely do more research on that ingredient and see how others are incorporating it into their regimens.
My biggest concern at the moment are hair products for moisture. I live overseas (South Korea very dry in winter) and with inflation buying things on Amazon against the dollar is rough. So I’m trying to use more locale products but it’s harder to tell what will or will not work. This gelatin video is perfect because I can get these items locally and make the product. I guess more DIY options for holy grail products would be dope.
@@PennieAutomatica Hello! That sounds rough:( Maybe making flaxseed gel could be of interest to you? As well as growing your own aloe vera perhaps Best of luck over there! 💖
The dryness is my issue. I have seborrheic dermatitis and wash my hair 3-4 times/week with salicylic acid shampoo to manage it. I spray aloe gel and rub my scalp with jojoba or curls vitamins oils each day and my hair is growing, but I fear leaving conditioner on my hair for long (I don't want to irritate my scalp) and I have a small baby so time is limited. Is deep conditioning the answer and how can I do this quickly?
Agar-agar might be interesting. It's a gelatin substitute derived from a red algae. It doesn't contain collagen, but the galactans (polysaccharides) might act in a similar way
Both can be used interchangeably, I prefer a gelatin supplement due to the research associated with it. However if you find that hydrolyzed collagen works better for you then definitely go with that. ☺️
Hi dear, I’m going through the stage the hair chop. January 9th I cut my hair off. I have not seen my natural hair texture in about thirty six years. Because I usually sport a straight perm. Now it’s like a about five inches. My last perm was in July 2021. Now my problem is finding products that are good for moisturizing/ hydrating, my hair is very coily and shrinks a lot when it’s. Then on the other hand very brassy when it’s dry. What might it be possible doing wrong?
Hello Curly Chemistry, my hair is not growing and it's not thick anymore. What can I use to get it back strong, thick and growing?? Please help me.. thank for your information
I am a competitive swimmer that is in a pool 10 times a week. I struggle with length retention because my ends either split or break off. How an I improve my hair care as a swimmer?
Thank you for sharing this information! I had forgotten about jello being good for hair growth. Do you have any suggestions for dealing with hard water? I usually wash my hair in the sink instead of the shower.
I'm struggling with breakage in the crown area. I wear cornrows, and the front of my hair is thick and growing well. The crown is thin and has a little breakage.
I am struggling with EVERYTHING!! My hair is thinning. If u do a protective style my hair gets thinner. If I leave it out, it does ok but I have to manipulate it everyday because it is short. My hair HATES ME so I struggle with being natural. Ur videos help me soo much but the older I get the more my hair is thinning. I am in menopause so I think that could be it but not sure. I think I have a decent hair regime. I wash it once a week to every other week. I use Adwoa products. MY GRAY IS JUST THE WORST! And I want to color it. 😩 I also use Green Beauty products oils and spritz and I like that but I cannot keep it from thinning out. HELP!!
@@CurlyChemistry ok, great! Thanks...where would I find that? Amazon? Yes, right, just remembered that Irish moss (seaweed) is a vegetarian source of collagen
Gelatin (collagen) doesn’t even contain the same amino acids or ratios as in Hair (keratin ) The main amino acid in hair is Cysteine. (60%+) The main amino acid in gelatin is Glycine (70%) So how in the name of common sense is Gelatin going to help hair growth? The best thing to do for hair food is to eat a cysteine supplement. “L - Cysteine HCL” Is the best one, (raw cysteine doesn’t exist, it reacts immediately to make other products thats why we need HCL attached) This is real hair food. I know people are gonna whine about how its unnatural to use supplement but whatever. The logic is there. Your hair contains massive amojnts of custeine. So obviouslt, eating cysteine is a good idea! Gelatin is not that useful here
Please research the following: I heard her talking about scalp scrubs; and Apple Cider vinegar/water rinses to help remove any build-up from the scalp. Aloe Vera gel is supposed to be good for scalp issues. Also, maybe try a water softener shower head to remove mineral buildup. Also, a clay detox (rhassoul or Bentonite) or clarifying shampoo (a good one I tried was by Living Proof Triple Detox ) should help your scalp as well. I hope one of these helps, but if not, please see a dermatologist.
Is this this same sensitive to hair protein? Cuz if not I'm at Walmart in a few. Ain't nothing help for this dry alopecia. However I know fenugreek has a protein sensitivity but I drink it and my lil bitty hair has grow but it's a contraindications to my months cycle 🙄
I am struggling with getting my thickness back. I used to have tailbone hair and I've always had long thick hair. I broke my back in 2k15 and in 2k16 I had heat damage from one flat iron in 5yrs. I had multiple surgeries and imvonca lot of meds. I know that the surgery and meds messed with the texture and strength of my hair im just wondering when will my cycle change my last surgery was 2k20. Help
