How long did it take to memorize placment of all the different valves ,impressive

Thanks, Matt...After about five or six, I recall 'suddenly' knowing all the valve trains by heart for those transmissions...Over the years, I've gotten to the point where I simply have to do one or two of a given transmission type and know them all at that point...

Hi Nick , Walter, I was the one with the No 4th gear 87 Buick T-type LS conversion car, I cant find our old coversation in my Notifications box, it was last year so i guess it automatically deleated them

What’s your view on blocking the pwm for the lock-up and the 3-4 accumulator?

I always block the pwm/tcc valve in the valve bodies unless the engine has VVT / ACM (08+) where the PWM has to remain active for that functionality to work properly. Ill leave the 3-4 accumulator active for stock builds/grocery getters but block it off or restrict it for everything else.

@@nickstransmissions How do you block the PWM? I have an 07 Yukon xl with the 4L60E. Also I wonder if you can provide a link to where to get this rebuild kit? Also the 1-2 shift ball valve repair sleeve?

@@davidbosch9061 Hi David, does your vehicle have variable valve timing and/or active cylinder management? If so, you need to keep the PWM TCC apply mechanically active as the engine's VVT/ACM programming needs it to function properly. If not, you can do one of a couple things. 1. Look for Fitzall's valve for 2004+ 4L60Es and install that (link: www.ebay.com/itm/283479244298?chn=ps&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A1Yc1JNvPmTHGCYlSAxuY3iQ89&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=283479244298&targetid=1644837435243&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9030824&poi=&campaignid=20379440763&mkgroupid=151897974896&rlsatarget=pla-1644837435243&abcId=9316477&merchantid=138152733&gclid=CjwKCAjwkY2qBhBDEiwAoQXK5fKmM68Ra4eHcKhfceiyaJTu2DtfUjkhDa0neEMaj5kklm9EQn7n-xoCRKIQAvD_BwE) 2. Block the inboard valve from moving using whatever you have that will work and allow you to install the end plug and retainer clip then install the outboard valve then plug+clip 3. Purchase a Transgo SK4L60E shift kit that comes with an updated valve and spring for that bore and follow the installation instructions 4. Bore and install the Sonnax oversized TCC regulator valve kit (requires special tools and not really necessary given the other three above options are available)

@@nickstransmissions Well I actually had the variable valve timing deleted. So no I don't have that anymore. Also I was going to ask about the 93thousands drill bit? would that be a bore bit then? Also I am wondering if everything you show in the video was a kit to rebuild the valve body and where I would get a full kit like that? Also if I just buy what you listed on number 1, then does that come with installation instruction? Or can you advise? I appreciate the quick response!!

Good to go for the TCC mod as no VVT/ACM is not active anymore...If your vehicle is a daily driver with a stock engine and converter stall speed equal or less than 2200 RPM, I'd purchase the Transgo SK4L60E shift kit and install it...Instructions are available for download on Transgo's website so you can read through before you buy the kit. Also, check out my 4L60E HP video or 4L60E HD2 video in my 4L60E playlist - they both provide instructions for installing and, in the case of the 4L60E HD2 video, I show the installation...There's some minor differences between the HD2 and the SK4L60E when it comes to the valve body but the main difference is the HD2 kit comes with high rate return springs and different springs/parts for the 1-2 accumulator housing. .093 refers to the drill bit size used to drill the spacer plate for the 2-3 and 3-4 shift as well as the band release (see transgo's instructions and my video for the specifics on drilling the separator plate.The 1-2 shift gets .076-.086 depending on what servo you have installed, converter stall speed and what you may have done w/the 1-2 accumulator housing and what spring you installed in the 1-2 accumulator regulator valve in the valve body...
