so u dont like the body style and u dont like the engine so y did u buy it im mean really those 2 thing are the most inportant when buying any kind of car or truck did u lose a bet or somthing
You said it correctly. The 2 main things about a truck, the body and engine, he doesn't like. WTF. Such a dork. I think my IQ lowered just listening to him. Im surprised anyone has subscribed to this nonsense.
actually the 6.0 is a motor that can be easily worked on if u have some knowledge on motors I have this Same truck but in white... you have to do some crazy towing to blow a head gasket after being bulletproofed.... people say they hate Ford's but the reality is that they know they'll never be able to afford one....
willbreaker 21 lol no, you're an idiot. most people don't buy Ford's because they know they're hunks of shit that don't last unless you dump a pile of money into them. except for the 6.4 powerjoke. those things are known as the 150,000 mile blow up motors no matter how much money you dump into them.
Some comments are absolutely ignorant... The 6.4 is by far the worst of the 4 current powerstroke try working yourselves working on such engine... Cummins and it's lack of power it hurts just talking about it.... Chevy it being a Japanese motor I just can't touch... I myself can literally take a 6.o apart and actually work on it... The 6.7 far exceeds all and goes back to the ability to work on the engine part.... No point getting into it specifically with someone that has no knowledge or can't even afford such vehicle.
Your truck just made a video of things it hates about you starting with it letting the EGT's drop enough to let the turbo cool down. Second was not getting it to an autobody to cut that rot out before it rusts away. Third is that it's studded and deleted but no updates (water pump/oil cooler) or coolant filtration have been installed.
I thought we were gonna get some 6.0 insight but this is very specific to your truck. I have one just like yours, even the paint colors, mine is a crew cab, short bed King Ranch. My big 3 hates would be 1. The instrument panel, I have aftermarket monitoring of the engine and know the oil pressure gage sender is a switch that put the gauge at the center position at only 4psi, the trans is up to operating temp (center position) less than mile down the road (nope) the coolant temp is way behind actual- slow and low, and the fuel gauge simply sucks. All pretty much useless. 2. The cruise control. Looses a couple of mph going down hill and gains a couple going uphill, 4mph swing makes you look like an idiot out on the highway. 3. Outside mirrors. The original "jelly bean" mirrors cut off the upper outside, right where you needed to see, fortunately the 2008 square mirrors are a bolt on and make towing much more comfortable. Honorable mentions - hard seats, fussy hubs on the ESOF (shift on the fly) 4wd system, chrome plated plastic, and just plastic in general on the radiator and CAC cooler just to name a couple.
Nice Truck...it's an eye catcher. I have an early '04 6.0L Excursion, Eddie Bauer, 4x4, Lifted, 35's, blah blah blah. I had mine Bulletproofed at 98k miles. The head gaskets were shot and it needed a whole lot of TLC for the engine due to maintenance neglect from the original owner. If your truck has the ARP head studs and OEM head gaskets, that will go a LONG way to preventing head gasket failure. Yes, you still need to keep up on the maintenance and don't run any crazy tunes. The original head bolts were the weak point. If you haven't already, then go ahead and watch some of Bill Hewitt's videos at powerstrokehelp ...the man knows his stuff. The 6.0's are great motors once you do the correct things to them. As far as the body goes....putting bushwackers over that cancer they call rust is like putting a Band-Aid over a sucking chest wound. It's only going to hide it for so long, and then once it creeps past the fender flares, it will be an expensive fix. I would see if you can find a reasonable body man to help you out before the problem gets worse....but it can be pricey too, and may be beyond your budget. It's easy for other people to tell you to stick all sorts of money in to your rig when it isn't their money to spend. Anyhow...just my 2 cents. Great looking rig and thanks for sharing the videos.
Moving up to Michigan in 2 years. St. Joseph. Looking to get a 7.3 or 6.0 yours is awesome. I’m looking to get a mid 2000’s model and plan on lifting and all. How do you keep it from rusting in the winter?
You know if you always have to worry about ur shit breaking maybe you shouldn't own a diesel truck, just throwing that out there, not a good financial decision to live out of your means, not saying you are but in general too many young kids buying these trucks to be cool thinking they last forever....well newsflash they don't and they require alot of routine maintenance to keep them reliable.
Nick Larson in high school I spent a lot of time/money working on my truck so I know it's a pain. because most people just put fuel in them and expect it to be ok forever especially gas cars/trucks
That's what kids dont understand...lol. Everytime I see a kid with a diesel truck it's a pile of shit, but they think it's some kind of tank that will last forever.
don't get me wrong diesels are great work vehicles (especially for welding rigs) but if you're just buying one for the sake of flipping out your tow mirrors, just wait till you have to replace parts. mommy and daddy can only help out so much.
I thought bulletproofing was a 4, possibly 5 step/component process? I’m seeing people saying they’re trucks are b’proofed w/ just an EGR delete and head studs. From what I understand only doing those 2 is still gonna lead to the common 6.0 overheating/engine failure issues.
My advice is to fix the rest soon as possible because the rest will grow in a hurry. I have a 2003 it's on my channel it has been very reliable and works hard and remember every vehicle can and will break down cummins duramax powerstroke it all depends on how you treat them
Ants Mart yes they do the first ones had the exhaust from the turbo and that pipe ran behind the head and usually were prone to a head gasket failure do to excessive heat
Studs and egr delete is the right thing to do on a 6.0 but if they didn't machine the heads would be an issue if they did you have a 500k mile truck if you change fluids on regular basis
OK, let's get a couple things straight. These trucks are extremely reliable and are amazing to drive ( I have a 2007 F-250 6.0) contrary to the poplar belief that they are unreliable and are gonna blow their head gasket at any given moment, it's simply not true. Most of the people that are gonna tell you these types of things are either A. People that have never had any experience with the 6.0s or B. Fanboys that worship Dodge, Chevy, ect. The reason that these trucks are so popularly known for being unreliable is because back in 2003 when the 6.0 came out everyone was expecting something that was going to be way better than the 7.3, so when people started buying them ( and when I say buying them I really mean they bought them, they out sold chevy and dodge in the light duty truck class COMBINED, so yeah, you're gonna see problems when 1.5 million + trucks are sold 03-07) they were giving them hell and horsing them around everywhere, which is not good on any truck no matter what you have. Also, these trucks sound amazing so there's no surprise that they were being held to the floor every time you left the red light. If you use these trucks how they are meant to be used they will last you forever, we have a 2004 F-350 6.0 that even if it was sitting at home was still averaging 800 miles a day and 10k pounds behind it. We bought the truck with 90k miles from FL and immediately started moving boats, campers, golf carts, and horse trailers on the daily, the truck was used how it was intended to be used by ford and has since lasted us 600k miles with original everything besides 7 injectors, radiator, and wheels. (The wheels broke before the motor did). Only mods done to truck was straight pipe and EGR delete, besides that the truck is none bullet proofed, original everything. Point of my comment is to use the truck for what it's meant for, don't buy it to look good in and give it hell everywhere with a tuner blowing smoke, because we use both of our 6.0s for hauling and they have over a million miles between the two.
I was just wonder, how much did it cost to get your 20x12 and tires mounted and balanced? I just bought 20x12 vision prowler and my local tire shop wanted $25 to mount and $15 to balance, A PIECE!!
allhail6.0 bro I'm selling my 6.0! I live 25 mins from Detroit. Don't want to give my city over RU-vid but snap me, we should meet up! Snap:franklacaria
#3 is an even more present feeling with a 6.4. I'm always worried about my 6.4 blowing gaskets again or having another cooling system failure or another cylinder not working. It seems that bulletproofing a 6.4 is never a sure fix.
Seth Cortez yeah I feel you. I'm recently added a leveling kit in my 6.4 with moto metal rims 20x10 35s and I kept thinking if is worth adding that to my truck . I took the DPf and tuned so I'm getting 13 city 18 on hwy . But I don't feel confident at all when doing long trips. It has small blow by (on the oil cap test).
I never can understand these young guys who want a short box. That tells me they don't use the truck for it's intended purpose, but just want a big rig to show off. Short boxes are a sin. How dare you, sir. How dare you. Your truck is perfect. Well, except for it being too lifted. Mine just has a leveling kit. But, then again, I need my truck to do my work, not show off.
I mean I kinda like running crew cab short bed makes hauling trailers easier. If you have a sliding hitch on a short bed you can make a tighter turn then a long bed truck can.
Or how about the fact that your opinion doesn’t matter to him, maybe you can agree with the fact that people can build what they want without need of your stubborn ass comment. This 6.0 is beautiful. Who cares that it’s “not a crew cab” or that it’s a “show truck”. He bought it and he built it to his liking. His goal wasn’t to satisfy you idiot😂
Can i get some advice from some people? im 16 looking for a power stroke and i've heard good and bad about 6.0's so what are some things i should look for and what to get done to a completely stock 6.0? im looking at a 04 at the moment is there a year better than others? thanks
Yes, Ive had a 03 6.0 and a 05 6.0 the 03 had a few mods no studs or nothing right now i have the 05 dually with just an exhaust 6.0s are really reliable and you dont have to worry, if they get hot=never PULL OVER AND LET THEM COOL DOWN the studs are just fine ford fixed that recall when they first started noticing people say to get the 05-07 i think they are all awesome, just dont get a 6.4
Here's my advice (coming from someone who has experience with 6.0's and 7.3's). My father has a 6.0 and we have had it for 4 years or so and we tow a bass boat. The truck is stock except for a bulletproof egr cooler and we had to replace the heater core because it started leaking (which costs a lot to fix). In my opinion, a 6.0 is an awesome engine but you HAVE TO, HAVE TO, HAVE TO maintain it!!! The injectors will go if you don't use diesel kleen. We put double the amount in just to be safe. Also use the shell rotella FULL synthetic oil on your oil changes (blue bottle). We change ours every 5000, but I think the recommended is 7000. also, we add rev x to our oil, it helps. stock 6.0's are really good as long as they are maintained. My 7.3 on the other hand, that thing is a tank.
First would be the crappy powerjoke 6.0 . We had 8 of them in a company . Terribly gutless and horrible turbo lag . All crapped out before 60000 miles . Egr problems , head gaskets , lymp mode shutdowns etc . We had one duramax with 350000 miles only replaced one lifter pump .
Fuckin love the 05 ford 6.0s... come on man. They look so much like a good truck. Fricken landscapers love the 05 ford diesels, they are great work trucks. The 6.0 powerstroke sounds great and is good engine. I’m a dodge cummins guy but I also like the fords. I’d take a 05 6.0
damn sucks for you, i'm pushing 500hp at the rear wheels and about 850ft lb of torque on my 2003. I have stock head bolts and have beating the shit out of my truck for 7 years like that. like stated, you probably suck as a mechanic.
EGR delete, coolant filtration system, updated blue spring, AFE stage 3 intake, straight piped turbo back 4 inch exhasut to 5 inch split to 7 inch stacks, SCT tuner with a custom tune from Innovative diesel and lots more stuff, lifted on 38s etc etc
CrewDawgLife and 99% will tell me how nuts I am and what a waste of money it is but I run T6 Rotella that gets changed every 3k miles plus both fuel filters and coolant filtration gets changed every oil change. I know they don't need to but at least it gives me a reason to drink more beers while I'm wrenchin' on the rig.
Tom Foolery haha and i thought I was nuts! I switched from Rotella T6 to Mobil 1 TDT CJ4. Because Rotella T6 CK4 has not been approved by Ford for use on their PSD trucks. There is a list of CK4 oils approved by Ford somewhere on the internet. But until they sort everything out, I will be using CJ4 oils only. But my regular maintenance includes, 5k miles oil changes, 10k miles fuel filters changes, and yea coolant filter every oil change as well. Not as crazy as you haha
It's a good idea to let a diesel idle for a minute or two before you shut it off, apparently it's better for your turbo. Nice 6.0 man, it kinda looks like my buddies truck @GarthBrady12 on instagram
The reason to sit and let it idle is to let the turbo cool off enough so the oil in the turbo bearings and bushings doesn't burn up. If you have a pyrometer on your truck just wait for the Egt to drop below 300 degrees and it'll be fine. If you were just towing a heavy load wait a couple minutes longer then shut it off but if you were just lightly driving around town then wait a few seconds for it to cool down to 300 and below then kill it.
Warhammer40kfans Well I hope this does. If it is a diesel and has a turbo then yes you should let it cool down. Also another thing is to avoid extended periods of idling. Look up wet stacking and you'll see why.
Hey bro! Been watching your videos on the best exhaust! Got my axel dump done yesterday! Strait pipe to 10" tip! And I freaking love it! Thanks for your videos bro! You can check it out at my channel Heavymike that one guy!
... Duh...I need to make a RU-vid video today, huh. It will be what I don't like about my truck. The body and the engine. But overall I love my truck. End of video. 😴😴 Keep up thre good work you are on your way to stardom for sure. 🤣🤣🤣
So, there are 3 things about this truck that you did not like when you bought the truck. It is understandable why you did not like those 3 things. They are significant. Then you bought the truck. Now you are posting online about "the 3 things I hate about my truck". And you want subscriptions for more truck videos, Really?
painful...get on with it...so you basically hate things specific to your trucks condition...nothing to do with a superduty..or 6.0..i can't believe I wasted several minutes of my life
