I bought my 04 in 2011 with 108k on it. The head gaskets were gone at 134k when I got it “bulletproofed”. Cost 6800 to lift the cab to do it all. 1500 for one side of injectors. The leaf spring front end sucks, that’s been rebuilt twice. Still own the truck in2024. Got 248k on it now, still running strong. It’s not a bad motor, just really do your research on them and keep at least 5 grand in the emergency ford repair box.
Do you want to roll coal? No. Do you want to send it? No. Honestly unless you really really need it never go for a diesal. Chances are you don't need that level of headache.

I plan on getting a 2 maybe 2.5 inch lift on my 05 and im gonna do true dual 4 in smoke stacks out the bed. Im also planning to do an egr delete if the truck im looking at doesnt akready have it. Guy bulletproofed the engine already and it has a new ipr system and has a new computer as well as other stuff. He wants to get 7500 but i think i can get it for 5k even. I plan to daily drive it as well, i also have to get a pillar gauge pod for it and a monitoring system for it. Im thinking of going with a banks setup. Not sure if the glowshift pillar pod will work for the banks gauges, kinda hoping they will cuz they have a tan one that matches the tan interior of the truck.
When you say straight piped, did you do a cat delete, I've just ordered a MBRP 4" turbo back exhaust supposed to arrive today, considered a cat delete and at some point MBRP made a cat delete pipe part# FAL-414, but apparently they have stopped making it, so I'll probably just get 4" pipe and cut out cat and pipe it back to resonator, just curious if i can get your sound without deleting cat.
@@explorewithmarquiseso I ended up getting -12 offset wheels on 35 AMP Terrain Attacks, the tire poke is significant but not stupid looking, with the 2 inch lift looks badass, as I’ve heard some guys in videos describe it, it’s right at that perfect spot on the mild and to wild scale and although there is a tiny bit of road noise, these tires are insane in that they pick up nothing. Now I won’t say 100%. There was a nasty construction zone for couple months on my street, tons of gravel all over the place in clusters where work was being done, I pulled over and was able to find a large stone every now and then stuck in the tire. But some days I drive over them and check and there is nothing. I’d probably buy these tires again. They are pretty awesome.
Listening to the truck in other videos and especially the turbo spool I know the truck was getting no air flowing through it. Listen to his turbo, always spending time operating at very high speed range and reaching that point very early in the RPM range. Look at the boost numbers with the tunes he had and you can see the truck exhaust was choked badly and the air the engine was taking in was being overheated from high compression in the turbo. He obviously had a straight pipe on it, and mentioned previous EBP sensor code in this video. His turbo unison ring was either stuck or clocked wrong. Simple mistake for a shop to make and it's enough to kill performance under a heavy load or high speed but seem like a nonissue when you get on the power at a stoplight. This was a 450HP to the wheels truck and this guy was convinced it was busted.
I noticed you have gages on the drivers side on the left window forward beam. Is this a Lariat? If not what type is it? What year is your truck? I am looking at purchasing a 2004 F350 and wondering if it’s reliable. Someone I know is selling it. All your help would be greatly appreciated.
His truck was getting no air. Likely the unison ring was stuck in the turbo or it wasn't clocked correctly. The thing made boost like mad, turbo was spinning max speed off idle so it felt great pulling away from a stop sign but had no guts at highway speed or under a heavy load like a dyno brake loading the engine. Should have been obvious to the guys running the dyno by just listening to it and feeling what it was doing. His turbo was basically stuck in tiny turbo mode all the time.
